Same. One small first world problem is when the family have the 15 and most cords around the house are usb-c and I still need the lighting cable. I plan on the 17.
12/13 Minis are the perfect size. The 2020 SE size is second best imo. How the hell are people putting these iPad sized phones in their pants pockets? Not all men carry purses these days.
I really couldn't care less for a thinner phone ! But I don't want another one day battery phone , give me a big battery Apple ! If the phone is 1 mm thicker I'm good with it ! And the thin model ...... I'm guessing it will come with compromise like a Small battery ? ....... No thank you very much .
iPhone slim? Next year is a super cycle? I’m annoyed if I have to wait a whole’nother year for a worthwhile upgrade. I’m tired of these minuscule upgrades year by year only to hear a rumor that “but next year will be THE year”.
I totally agree! Still holding onto my iPhone X every damn year wauting for THE predicted major design change! Grrrrr! Too expensive just to get teaser upgrades year in and year out! Get rid of the dynamic island totally! Offer an iPhone Foldable! Put front camera and face scan under the screen! Double the battery life!!! Come on Apple...stop holding back with your carrots on a stick teasing every single year when I keep saying I will hold off yet another damn year before I pull the trigger on an expensive new and exciting model. Steve Jobs would have moved things along much faster! Rest in peace, Steve. You are sorely missed!
A “Slim” model with fewer features and fewer cameras but a higher price makes no sense. The only way it would make sense would be it is Apple’s first flip phone foldable.
You really think the slim will have fewer anything and skyrocketing the price then you’re not a true Apple follower. Your imaging an iPhone 17se slim and it would not be that high in price 🤣
@@rlmackie The rumored price of the iPhone 17 Slim is $1299, higher than that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max and possibly higher than the 17 Pro Max. The 17 Slim has a rumored smaller screen at 6.6”, a slimmer body, smaller battery, one or two cameras in stead of three. With that kind of hardware, it is totally illogical for Apple to charge $1299 for a phone that is weaker than the 17 Pro Max. There would have to be a reason for people to buy a phone that’s more expensive and has fewer features. The only logical possibility is that it is a foldable flip phone since foldables tend to have weaker hardware than flagships. It wouldn’t be a large foldable because those phones have close to 8” screens. This phone is not an SE. Now the rumors could be wrong, but the current rumors are for a higher price than Apple’s flagship phones. Maybe it’s the Ultra, but an Ultra wouldn’t have fewer cameras and a smaller screen without some other feature to entice people to buy it. The only other possibility is a phone that’s has an M-series and R-series chip to support a future Apple Vision non-pro headset that is wirelessly tethered to the phone using a high frequency radio that isn’t bluetooth or wifi.
Brian, I’ve heard rumors that the iPhone 17 slim is the fold. That’s why it will be so slim! They are planning on launching it like the iPhone X. It will introduce us the fold category. I don’t think it will ever be the only type of iPhone though. It will just live alongside the regular and Pro line.
Wait - you have a point there. I was just thinking “slim” as in narrow. Which makes sense with the screen size mentioned in the video as it’s smaller than the Pro Max. But yeah that would be a sneak more like the iPhone 8/X launch
@@2004cyrus Yes, thicker when folded. But the phone would be ultra thin when unfolded. They have Android phones in China that are like 4.8mm or something like that.
I need to know all the features of each model before guessing at which model I might buy. My current iPhone is fine for me, so I'm not actively looking for a new model.
I will be waiting for the iPhone 17 Pro or Slim, as Apple Intelligence will not fully be available this year. Subscriptions, Apple TV, all the time, Discovery+ and Amazon Prime only during European soccer tournaments are on. No Disney+, nor Netflix. Thanks Brian for the video 😊
If they came out with an iPhone Pro mini that didn’t compromise any of the features of the larger phone. It could even be a little bit chunkier to give it better battery life, I would buy it immediately.
$20 Billion over the course of 5 years really isn’t that much compared to most other services. In any case, Apple TV+ has become my favorite Apple product by far. And I mean that: their shows keep bringing me joy every month, and the overwhelming majority of their content is worth watching. They are, in my opinion, unmatched when it comes to recent original programming.
It feels like every July and August we get some tidbits that the next next iPhone is the one to wait for. An iPhone Ultra sounds appealing but what can it really do to differentiate itself from the Iphone Pro line that doesn’t make the Pro line look inferior? Slimmer devices are nice but I would rather have iPhone BMI (Battery Made Improvements) so I don’t fear battery drain during those long days outside and do not want to carry a powerbank.
i would love to see Apple make the iPhone’s build material in the following: SE - aluminum XX series - stainless steel or high grade aluminum (but retain the price) Pro series - titanium
I still have a 13 pro max. The past couple of phones; including 16 rumors don’t seem significant enough to upgrade. An actual re-design and a more creative change would be great.
The ending of Dark Matter felt a bit rushed Edit: That one other show on Apple TV+ with recording of people just talking on their phones, was BUNKERS, and unlike anything I have watched. Really interesting concept, and thought executed well!
Time between seasons on Apple TV is too long. Your analogy to PG13 HBO (cough Maxx) is spot on. They also have the same problem with time between seasons.
I’m planning on upgrading this year.. my iPhone 14 Pro max is due.. if the skin is true- the camera orientation would go against the pictures for the Vision??? Also, I also really enjoy Apple TV + but because I’m in the full bundle… with 2 kids it just made sense for the arcade, me and the wife use fitness, it all made it easier for us!!
In ref to the iPhone SE possibly loosing the TouchID, I work with an organization that teaches people with low/no vision how to use their iPhone. What 95% of those people say is they are NOT wanting to use Face ID. TouchID in a blind world is the go-to for low/no vision biometric security. People who can't see the screen have no point of reference of how to use Face ID. Passcode entering with VoiceOver or Zoom is rough. Touch ID gives that customer base a sense of security. I'd rather see an all screen unit with TouchID in the power switch like the iPad. That way you get the whole screen and security w/out having to be forced into FaceID.
I don't want a thinner phone that sacrifices battery life. I like the idea of a 6.5 or 6.6 phone but thinner and more expensive would not be something I want
Ppl are saying the slim could actually be a foldable. Having a centered camera kinda aligns with that. That’d be cool. But if apple just wants a new phone with crazy margins, I’d happily buy a $1000 “iPhone mini Pro”
I bought an iPhone 15 just 10 months ago. I don't upgrade every year or every other year. I intend to keep my iPhone 15 for at least 5 years. I'm a frugal shopper. I can live without Apple Intelligence. In fact, I lived without it for a decade.
Kuo just reported this morning that he "expects the device to be equipped with a 6.6-inch display with a current-size Dynamic Island, a standard A19 chip rather than an A19 Pro chip, a single rear camera, and an Apple-designed 5G chip. He also expects the device to have a titanium-aluminum frame, but with a lower percentage of titanium than used for iPhone 15 Pro models." Quite a bit different from what this video suggests.
The shows on Apple TV+ are phenomenal, but there's just not that much to watch on it. A lot of the content only has one season as well, so as soon as you really get into a show (Severance for me) you have to wait who knows how long for the next season. I wish platforms put as much effort into the quality of their original content as much as Apple does, but like you said, it doesn't matter much if no one is watching it.
This feels like an Apple ad. Find out what your customers think of an iphone slim. Prompting us to comment on what we think so they can collect data about whether they should or not.
@@briantong It’s like you’re doing Apple’s market research for them. We’ll “leak” some details and names and make a fake rendered pic of what it might look like and have RU-vidrs such as you say, hey guys, what do you think of our new product? Do you like it? Let me know in the comments. Then you/they can look at all the comments because they are all published publicly. Then they can use that info to help make decisions on whether they should really come out with an iPhone slim or not.
I don’t use any streaming services, they’ve become too expensive, and the quality of a lot of these shows and movies have gone downhill, not worth the money anymore.
What if the iPhone 17 ultra slim was the first with a new ultra slim battery technology, so slim but so powerful like a big one? What if the 17 ultra slim was the only model made out of titanium in the 17th lineup? So light maybe under 150 grams? And the same great cameras like the Pro ones? Well, I think this would be great 😉.
@@briantong Can’t imagine Apple being Apple, making a slimmer phone similar to their already established line unless they plan on doing it across the board with the pros. Also seems a bit strange that it would priced higher than the pros with diminished specs. We shall see. Appreciate your take.
There’s just so many streaming services now that the price tag for Apple TV+ puts people at the point where they’re out against just continuing paying for Cable. Not that it cost too much but too many subscriptions and up costing too much. Apple just entered the ball game way too late.
Hey Brian, I’m already paying Apple 10 bucks a month for 2 GB of storage for a while there they got me with the Apple news and the Apple TV plus and it all seemed good at 29 bucks a month and then they had a price increase to over 30 and I dropped everything but the storage. I’ll probably come back to Apple TV+ because like you say there’s some good programming content. But cycling through streaming services to watch the programs you want seems to be the better alternative
I was one to say I don’t care about the thinness of a phone but recently at work we have to keep a iPhone SE. it is so small and thin. I love using it with its huge bezels and all because of how comfortable it feels. I’m down with the thinness. I would like the slim phone with a smaller phone though.
I'm guessing they're going to "revolutionize" the smartphone camera. 100mp adjustable aperture wide angle lens with detachable periscope 20x zoom or something crazy like that. One sensor, one camera that does the work of all three current cameras. And maybe some added features and benefits. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense.
NGL…kind of annoyed with all of the different screen sizes. I liked it better when it was the standard model and then the pro model. It was much simpler times. I have the 13 Mini and while not much size difference than the 13…I love it. I’m onboard with a Mini-Pro phone!
iPhone 17 slim , no camera button no spatial video.Maybe everyone needs new renders ? The camera layout doesn’t seam to fit the direction apple is heading towards this year?
If ATV+ was part of some Apple bundle like Amazon is, then I totally agree it would be easier to justify. As it is I'm in the same boat with the existing streaming platforms (Netflix, Max, D+, Prime) and free YT its hard to justify yet another one. Re iPhone 17: Slim sounds like a good idea, but for me personally i worry that it will be too thin and light that it is too easy to break or lose. Would have to see how it actually ends up being like but otherwise planning to ride my 14 as long as i can. BTW: Great running into you at SDCC!
I am waiting for Apple to make the touch screen Mack tablet to compete with the Surface Pro tablet computers. It’s 10 year over due. Practically every computer manufacturer has a tablet computer.
