For someone migrating from Android that wants an iPhone, large screen, touch ID. The only answer is the 8 plus. Because the X doesn't have touch ID and I find that to be very stupid. And buying the 7 plus is 20 dollars cheaper than the 8 plus if you consider storage, because buying an iPhone with less than 64 GB is like buying a rock, a very expensive rock. So yeah, iPhone 8 plus for me.

i have the iphone 8+ and i accidentally dropped it (without the case) and surprisingly the glass didn’t break that much and i didn’t have to get a it renewed. so the glass in the phone is pretty durable.

Jeremy Smith agreed. Looking at the exactly price to storage comparison - the iPhone 8 plus is £30 more expensive (256gb). You get all of that for £30 more than what you got when the 7 plus launched. Imo the cpu is the main reason for me to upgrade, plus I do not want to solely rely on face ID

You are right, I have used both operating systems for about three years now and i can honestly say that IOS always tries to bring me back to using an iphone because of its more reliable OS on the other hand I'm currently owning a Galaxy s7 edge and its doing good for a year and a half of daily heavy usage; but however theres so many things that i feel that are not well optimized in this android device sometimes the lag kills me and it does freeze for couple seconds and sometimes it restarts by its self. Although i really like these features that samsung trying to put on there devices and i truly wish Apple would step up their game and start implementing these features to its phones.

I have an s7. Fantastic phone, amazing display an camera but the battery drain by android is just too much. Add the updates by the carrier and Samsung and this is not the phone I bought at launch. After a year I lost more than 20% of my battery's health. I really want a note 8 but I feel I will regret it like it did with my s3 and bootloading g3. I feel like I'm downgrading but at the end, the iphones lack of stand by drain will be enough for me. Google needs to get their asses to fix that.

Did anyone else notice that you can no longer see the tribute Apple did at the beginning of the keynote for the Steve Jobs Theater. I just recently switched from the Galaxy S8 to the IPhone 8 + and so far, so good. The last time I used an iPhone was the 4 haha. It’s very difficult to leave Android when you’re so use to it’s userability and flexibility, but I’m giving iPhone a chance, we’ll see.

The smaller battery might be because quick charging. When you charge a battery it expands a little because the heat. Quick charging heats the nattery more so it needs to expand more.

Piipperi800 a lot of users are not gonna go out of their way to buy the MacBook USB c charger just for quick charging. A good chunk of people are either gonna use the standard charger that comes with the phone or an iPad charger.

People don’t get it. By adding bigger battery’s that doesn’t solve anything. It’s all dependant on software and the efficiency of the processor. For example, sometimes when you update your IOS software you may find it losing more juice than previous version. By now you should understand. Once again read this again and it will make sense to you. Btw X uses less battery consumption. Uses pixels when needed.

It chargers your phone way faster than the 5W brick charger, but still the speed is no comparison to the "fast charge" achieved through a 29W PD charger (and a usb-c to lightening cable).

I’ve got my iPhone 8 plus 256GB coming on Friday. I’m really confused about the HDR though. On Apple’s website it says that the 8 plus has support for Dolby Vision and HDR10. To comply with these standards the screen would have to be a 12 bit panel. So will we be getting Netflix shows in true Dolby Vision / HDR or will it be some faux upscaling trick (like playing a DVD on a 4K screen)

I bought the iPhone 8 Plus on sale last week. I could afford the iPhone X, but I don't think it's worth the price difference, so I'm more than happy with the 8 Plus. Other factors, I like the home button and its functions, I don't like face ID.

Sometimes it's not bad, but it laggs and stutters a lot of the time, two of my requirements are stability and speed, the fact that I could spend all day playing around with preferences does not appeal to me ....lovely phone, but the software feels like beta software in my opinion..

My wife has the i7 plus and i have the Samsung s8 Plus. We are constantly debating who's phone is better. Nothing really new under the Sun for the extra money if you ask me. The OLED screen on my s8 plus is really cool but side by side it's hard to tell the difference. I wish i had the speaker that the i7 Plus has but i like my camera much better. Doesn't it seem like Apple and Samsung are chasing each other's tails. I think so 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂

I got the 8. I'm willing to pay more for the wireless charging. I can put on the charger each night and grab it in the morning fully charged. No fiddling with chords and plugs. I just could see that the X was that much better. To me, I could read the text on the the 8 better than the 8+ or the X. I have extremely crappy eyes so I don't think is true for most people.

Of course the 8 and 8 Plus are with it!! Even if everyone planned to buy the X it’s going to be on back order for several months. Lots of upgrades from 7 and 7 Plus too.

Chergio not sure if you’ve had a chance to see it for yourself yet but I have and it is pink. I didn’t like it so I ended up getting the iPhone 8 plus in space gray which is really black.

Make it 27 interesting things you probably didn't know that the iphone 8 plus can still do the landscape mode at the home screen unlike the iphone X cannot. Another is iphone 8 plus has still the larger viewing screen compared to iphone X even it has only 5.5 that is because the screen is much wider than the iphone X. I've made the right decision in buying the iphone 8 plus. My suggestion is better skip the iphone X instead and wait for another iphone to come.

Well, i disagree. I had iPhone 6s, great one, skipped 7 and went to 8 plus, some excellent improvements I got for a minimal difference to 7 and without wasting so much on X. Besides, we all can see how many bugs are still being solved for the X (iOS 11, hardware and apps), so next year might be a good choice the X when it’s all fixed and the price of course will be cheaper.
