Thank you for getting to the point quickly. I think that I've been looking at reviews for an hour bc my old backup drive won't work with my iphone's updates.
Hahaha 😂 thanks for appreciating that. I hate videos that go for minutes before they finally get to the point. Thank you for watching and please subscribe.
Thanks for this video. I was looking for something like this. I will definitely be purchasing. This is perfect for those who don’t like buying 128+ gb plus phones and want to keep their 64gb phones for as long as they can lol
Glad I came across this. I was going to purchase a Photostick Omni but saw some negative reviews about it working as advertised. I'm trying to move my maxed out photo/video storage from my iphone 14 pro to a back up HD but it's impossible to do easily. Apple sucks at being easy to use for offloading content.
Would have been nice to see "select all" for us that would like to use it as a backup device and clear space off our iPhone. Perhaps you have tried since and could answer a few questions. 1. Does it easily select all photos and videos from your camera roll and back them up all at once? 2. Does it keep the picture format/video format correctly such as bursts/pano/slo-mo etc.? 3. If it does will it create folders for each so it mimics the albums of the iPhone when backed up for easy viewing and sorting? Thanks!
Really good video! Also good that you compare iPhone and Android and speak about the complexity Apple creates by pretending there is no file system on their phones. :)
I bought this because of this video, works good BUT now when I transfered it to my PC, I got all HEIC files!!!! Now, I need to do it again, the old passion way like going to ITUNES... which I thought this would be easier. They should include the Heic converter to PC...
Hi thanks for sharing this. I have this ixpand drive also. have you notice that when you deleted those videos after transfer, your system file in your iphone goes higher and almost eat up your space in your iphone. this is very annoying with this ixpand drive. After you have transfer those videos and deleted in your iphone, your system files goes high and not able to delete system file. Very frustrating ixpand drive.
Thank you fro your video. It was very helpful The only thing is that I cannot see the pictures. They are like in a different format. Any thoughts? Thank you, Laura
iPhone sometimes films and captures in different formats such as HEIC for photos, what ever you’re using to view the files might not support them. If it’s in the companion app they may not have transferred correctly.
When you download the app and if I’m someplace where there is no Internet or Wi-Fi can I still use it or do I have to be on the Wi-Fi to use this with the app?
Recently purchased this for iPhone 14 pro and using the iXpand drive app it says to download. Not all but a lot of my photos & picture cannot be opened in the app and say they are not the correct format. I wondered if there is a way to fix this or what could be causing the issue
My current situation: Broke my pro max 13 screen last fall. Has pictures from my engagement, bachelor party, when my dad was in the hospital and he almost died (so very important pictures) screen is too expensive to fix, so it was cheaper for me to open a new line and get the new 14 pro max, while still paying off the 13. The broken phone STILL WORKS I know because when I plug it in it makes the charging sound and rang when people called me. Hoping I can take this flash drive and broken iPhone to a repair shop where I’m PRAYING they will hook up a new screen to my broken phone so I can just transfer my pictures off of it just paying them for the labor not keeping the screen. 😂
i think this is a waste of money. having to use the app sucks. i just got one and reformatted it and it reads on other computers but Files on apple will not read. I think i'm just going to end up using a SD card to transfer non-photos.
I got a PNY and a SanDisk Lighting/USB A model. I like the PNY app better. They both works great except when I need to use it on my iPad and I need to plug in a dongle. Might be time to get a new one.
Yes they can. I use it for that all the time. I take the files from my phones and I transfer them to my computer. I find it's much faster than trying to do airdrop or some other transfer type if I'm using my Android phone. So I just use the drive and it works better and faster.
Does this work to save directly to it? For example, I want to work on a project and don't want any of the footage I'm about to film to go on my phone / iCloud storage but directly to the drive? Great information video by the way - very well laid out. ;)
since it is double ended when open at 90 degrees, can you connect both phones in at the same time and transfer straight through from one phone to the other?
Can you please tell if the transfer reduces the picture or video quality in terms of space it's taking on the storage device. Is it of slightly reduced quality?
Does this work for videos I record on my iPhone? I’d like to take videos I’ve recorded and edit them on my computer, but transferring them from iPhone to PC is very slow and unreliable. So is it possible I can have videos I record on my iPhone save to the flash drive?
Yes it works for videos. It's just a storage device so it works with any type of file. And I use it for that very thing. Moving videos off of my iPhone onto my computer.
@@TodayIFeelLike So I record a service that’s like an hour and 15 minutes long, how long would it take to transfer from my phone to the SanDisk drive? Or is there an option I can choose to have it automatically save to the flash drive? Do you have a tutorial for that?
I don't know the exact transfer times it depends on the file size and I would not recommend recording directly to the flash drive even if it's available.
Will this flash drive download all the photos on my iPhone 12 Google Photos. And how do I tell it that I want photos from either google photos or Amazon photos. Thank you
It will backup the photos on your phone. There's is auto backup software if you want a complete backup. If you want Google photos you have to select which photos to download.
Hi! Does the stick have a folder system with the possibility to make as many subfolders as possible? The iphone sucks bc u have one folder ! For eg. Food and drink- subfolder Recipes , subfolder- Pasta dishes - subfolder - spaghetti . Thats 4 folders , i need to be able to drag and drop photos straight into a subfolder like on a computer . Can u do that ?
When I put photos on the i xpand sandisk, all my photos and videos from my I-phone were in a format my pc (windows) couldn't read (paint). I can't figure out what went wrong. Help!
It's not that your computer can't read it it's just that you have the wrong apps installed You need to get an app that can read those files paint can't do it.
The contents are only encrypted. If you encrypt them they’re not encrypted by default. What was said that give me that impression I want to make sure I didn’t state that the files were automatically encrypted.
Yes you do. Even if you go through the files app it will force you to open the Xpand app to access the files on the flash drive. If you use the flash drive on a USB-C device like an iPad Pro, computer or Android device you don't need the app.
Oop s didn’t actually mean to send that but that is something I’m actually trying to do if anyone knows ??? Thanks in any advance and all the very best 🎉 🎉 🎉
Got one but having problems which video-file that was created for the still’s. Don’t want that. Guess it had to do whit live-photo but lost control over my files when I put them in the computer. (iphone -ixpand-window)
Yes, the whole live photo thing can be a problem. If you don’t need them, it’s best just to turn them off. But if you’ve already taken photos using that mode the best thing to do is just transfer over everything and then just sort by file type. That way you can get all your JPEGs and MOV files separated.
So this is just limited to transferring files? An Apple device can't play to watch a video saved in the Sandisk storage while it is plugged in? (like Android devices can). Sad.
Hi! Maybe you can help me? i bought this flash drive6 and my iPad Pro doesnt see and doesnt open any files. What problem can be? and second question, what video flash can play? because i downloaded movie and want to watch on iPhone, but it doesnt play any video, says that video format not right. what video format it can play?
First when you connect this to your iPad Pro just hop into your Files app and you will find the flash drive mounted there. Next the file format for videos has nothing to do with the flash drive but with the device playing the video, in this case your iPad. If you are downloading movies that are MKV file types then you will need an app to play them something like Oplayer, VLC, or Infuse will work well. I use Infuse but it's a paid app. I also use Oplayer sometimes too. VLC is the OG in the bunch and will play pretty much anything you throw at it but the interface is pretty old school.
@@usernamesym1 yes, i don’t use the iXpand app. When i connect to iPad, open Files, choose the video and i play through app called Infuse. Or you can also just view the documents in Files.
