Robert Howard I think it separates it and stores it for free so it doesn’t count against your storage plan because this would weigh heavy against your iCloud storage plan.
Unfortunatelty I thought this video was going to show me how to transfer all photos and videos to icloud but it did not. I aleardy have my settings as displayed in the video and my phone is still saying iphone storage full when i try to save new edited videos. I think iphone just sucks on purpose. Purposely made for these problems to occur.
iCloud uploads your photos automatically you can’t pick and choose what you want to upload and it take time to do it so like if you just bought iclouds storage it could take a week for all you shit to get uploaded.

I did everything you said I purchased 2TB of iCloud storage yet i still get that pop up message of iPhone storage full. I followed the steps you mentioned and the were already set accordingly.
you probably know this by now but icloud storage isn’t the same as iphone storage 😔 icloud storage is usually only used for photos and backups, not games or apps

I’m still struggling with understanding all of this (your videos are so informative - I’m just a bit thick…). So I have my photos backing up to the cloud. Does that mean that I can delete them from my phone?
They are not on your phone, you won’t be able to access them, if u don’t have Internet, so everytime u look at photos on ur phone, that r already in the cloud, ur just viewing a download

hey! my question is that are photos gonna be canceled in iCloud photos automatically after a while or only if I touch the icloud on my Mac and delete myself? I went to the Apple store and they told me that there is no way to store videos on the cloud after deleting them off of your phone unless you disconnect your phone from the cloud and keep it disconnected because iCloud creates a backup of what is on your phone
Lets say you wanna sell your phone and if you delete everything from the phone it gonna get deleted from iCould? do you always have to sign out for icloud before deleteing it?

I have been using iCloud storage on my phone. First annoying thing is when not connected on wifi it doesn’t back up. Second annoying thing is that once I didn’t pay and it went back to 5gb storage so it kept my last few taken photos and my older photos disappeared from my phone l. They stayed in the cloud tho but because I have so many photos there it’s so hard to access them (it loads forever & if i want to save a photo only one photo can be saved at once and only as a file and then i have to go the files app and save as an image ) Can you give a solution please ? @@mahmedm nah bro if Google photos doesn't even take up that space if you save it in 'high quality' mode UNLESS you save the photos/vids in 'original quality' which will take up space . From my usage I don't see a problem with 'high quality' mode and usually can't tell the difference and I get unlimited storage for my pics/vids too so that's a plus
Question. Now I want to remove my pictures from my iphone and put them in folders to get printed, and remove them from my iphone. What is your suggested way to do this? Can I do that from icloud? or do I need to upload them to a program like drop box to do that. When I connect my phone to transfer them to my laptop only a small sampling of them appear. Have a doubt. If for some reason payment for a month is delayed or not paid to iCloud. The photos which are backup in iCloud will delete? Is iCloud safe for personal photos?
You can’t it stoopid af. But you can turn on optimize storage and it will save a shit ton of storage for you which should never fill up and ICloud will store the photos for you freeing up the space. Just make sure to keep dat icloud subscription. An alternative is to upload photos to your computer and then delete them off your iPhone where they will be on your computer. Or you can use Google Photos and back up all your photos and then delete them on your iPhone freeing up all your storage. It will take a few hours but make sure to do it before June 1st because then you will have to pay for more storage like ICloud.
What happens when your iCloud storage is full and you change the iCloud settings from “optimise iPhone storage” to “download and keep originals”. Can you loose photos in iCloud, does it use less iCloud storage space, or does the action just use more of your device memory with no gain in iCloud space?
In my humble opinion I think using iCloud Sucks because there’s an extra cost every month 0.99 for 50gb 2.99 for 200gb and 9.99 for 2tb I see this as a hidden fee or surplus fee. Yes up front it looks good notice I said looks good down the road not so much is a bill on top of your cell phone bill it adds up the cost of owing a cell phone. I don’t care how anyone might justify apples iCloud monopoly but most of us iPhone users would love to see our iPhone have a removable micro sd card that would give us the freedom to do what we need to do and the cost is less and lot of people want to pay less not more. I’m having a really tough time. Shorts recently opening the hashtags so we can grow once again, my iPhone has become primary for my shorts. Also use for LiDAR for Nerf filming. But 50 gigs of space I had tons of videos. Over 500 photos. So today I upgrade to a 2TB storage, copy every video about 1-200 videos. All 500 photos. I even struggle to move some videos there has to be room left free on the phone in order to transfer. So at first I could do one at a time then I’d delete it off the phone then out of deleted files. Till I was finally able to move all my hundred plus videos over 500 screenshots, Wel now I’m using splice to edit 3 tiny videos I shot today, I’m getting the message my storage needs managed it’s too full to film anymore. How is it possible that I deleted likely 20-40 gigs out of my video folder then selected all deleted from trash but now as I start a project 4 small clips in and It’s acting like I only deleted a ten minute video. Kind of as t a loss

I have the iPhone 8+ 256GB. I’m upgrading to the iPhone 11 128GB. I currently have almost 30,000 photos, 1000 of them are videos. I know everything isn’t gonna fit inside the iPhone 11. Would they still be in the “Cloud”, if I transfer data from my old iPhone?

I have around 12k Photos/videos with my iPhone of 64gb I have done everything you said but my iPhone storage is still taking up 14.55GB while my ICloud of 2TB is taking up 237.45GB, how can I put the extra 14.55GB inside my iCloud storage. After doing what you said it’s still there.
