K & J Knation YESSSSS my iPhone XS fell in the pool for 2 seconds in 3ft. And now the screen turns green every time I turn it on it sometimes fades but idk
Dropped mine in the shower yesterday - it was on the shelf playing music. Basic water spray, not like it was dunked - and next think you know the screen is dead. I tried holding the reset button (too long apparently) and called 911. Let's just say it was a frustrating night last night.....
This has happed to two of my XS Max phones. I am embarrassed to say that it took two phones for me to figure out that it shouldn’t be rinsed off (EVER). Don’t do it! Green screen!
It happened this to me today and they charged me 40 dollars just for their tech guy to check and they told me that they could't repair water damage and I should replace my iphone xs max with a new one. I only got mine less than a month
This happened to my friend, I was swimming the whole day whilst using my Note 10+ in and out of the water, she jumped in once with her XS Max and it went green... Luckily Apple replaced it under warranty after legal action was threatened
SHAKE YOUR PHONE, tap the area by the camera, just shake the heck out of your phone for a while and I promise you it will turn on. It won’t be fixed but it will turn on long enough for you to back it up or do whatevr you need to with it.
Did you try to open your phone and turned into flashing green? Then turn it off again and put in the rice? Because thats what i did now. Hopefully it will work huhuhu
Same exact thing happened to me. Currently using it now but the shitty part is there is a pink vertical hairline stucked in the middle of my screen. Also every some other time I noticed the black colors fades green just like shown in the video.(XS MAX)
@@toshiya4979 i have the same phone, is there still a pink vertical line or is it normal again without having to do anything, or did u have to get it repaired
Same with my phone. I took a shop vac to it then a strong blow dryer. Shut it off and then did a factory reset. It’s working now but I think I need a new one.
I took mine into the pool/hottub and it was never exposed to water for more that 15 seconds at a time. When i left the phone was fine but an hour or so later it feel out of my pocket. I then noticed my screen was flickering horribly but not as bad as yours and my whites looked green my reds looked pink my greens looked teal all the colors were screwed up. So I rebooted it thinking it may be a glitch with my jailbreak but when i saw the apple logo flickering the second it powered on i knew i was in trouble. So i put it in rice overnight and in the morning absolutely nothing changed except now it was rebooting every 8ish minutes (and I wasn’t re enabling my jailbreak so i know it wasn’t that) so i put it back in rice all day today and bow i have been using it for about an hour and it seems perfectly fine so far. I agree apple is pretty dumb for not covering that damage under warranty because according to them it should have survived fully submerged in a meter and a half of water for 30 minutes and I didn’t even come close to that time or depth. I guess lifeproof cases might still be more relevant than I thought
I was taking underwater pictures with my iPhone X and the next day (today) it looked like the top left of the screen was dead and there was a green tint to the screen. I got the phone from amazon and it was flawless. Then out of the blue it fixed itself and it’s fine now. Idk why this happened but it did.
I absolutely agree and thank you for your review. I wish I had seen it sooner. My iPhone XS failed after having it submerged in a pool only 8 inches to a foot and only for 30-45 seconds. Next day phone and screen took a dump. I wonder if anyone will eventually file a claim, maybe pursue a class-action suit against this "false advertising" of IP68 of 2 meters and 30 minutes. Complete bologne!!
@@PeteMatheson Oh this good news! I hope apple takes mine! I dont think the lci tripped on mine. Did you have condensation on yours? And did you dry it out before sending it out?
This happened to me aswell! It is not permanent, at least not for me. What i did was that i let it rest in rice for 36 hours and now it is working flawlessly again. So if this happens to you, remove the sim card tray and let your phone dry out completely while turned off.
Same exact thing happened to me. Currently using it now but the shitty part is there is a pink vertical hairline stucked in the middle of my screen. Also every some other time I noticed the black colors fades green just like shown in the video.(XS MAX)
It's incredible how Apple can get away with this sort of thing, but we are all mugs really! We pay extra money for warranty cover, as we love that warm cosy feeling that paying for extra support brings us! Just came across your channel today and found your style and content to be very well done and very interesting! Looking forward to more material from you in the future.
Is there any way to fix this? My Face ID isn’t working but sometimes my whole phone works completely fine nothing wrong w the screen but Face ID and I don’t know what to do this happened a couple of days ago.
I had the exact same issue with my XS Max. It was completely dead after being in the water, so i left it in rice with cotton pads for about a day. When i took it out, it had the same green flickering screen issue, however after using a hairdryer on it for about 5 minutes it went away and now functions like normal.
I took a few videos about ten seconds each under 10 cm of water and boom side buttons messing about and the phones turning off and on and deleting pic i took after this and the water indicator is white no water in the cameras. So sure the waters got in somewhere like the speaker so surely the iphone was not put together right. :@ My iphone 7plus was at the bottom of a Jacuzzi for ages and was fine! Heading to the apple shop tomorrow hoping they change it as there is no sign of water damage.
Guys for real I took my Xs swimming for like 20 minutes and it was fine Maybe it’s because u guys don’t dry it after putting it in water u should first remove water from speakers and charging area THEN ur good u prolly didn’t do that that’s why it’s water damaged
Can someone help me I was in a car the heater was running and I turned on my phone and out of no where my phone screen turned green with a green line too the first time it turned green then it disappeared for like 10 minutes then came back again and is permanently on my phone it’s been a good month now
This has happened to me twice already with my my iPhone XS the screen has shorted out showing signs of water damage both times but it works perfectly once it’s dried out
Yanno Love yes thank you! What i did was, I dry my phone and wait for a few day until the screen stop blinking. (4-5 days) and found out that the power button is completely broken and sometimes it turns off by itself. I brought it to apple and said nothing but the power button is broken. They gave me a replacement phone wo paying.
2 months old & face id has failed, store tells me its had water damage from God knows where! and i got quoted £518 for a replacement! perfect phone, all working except face id and they expect me to pay a further £518 after 1200+ Joke of a company now! OnePLus is next
Lizeth Salazar for the record it’s not waterproof never said it was waterproof it’s water resistant there’s a difference. It works under water periods of time but it’s not a waterproof iPhone.
its true!! I dropped my iphone xs under the rain for few minutes , and its screen starts to glitch and then finally completely shut off. I brought it to apple store and i was told that apple waranty doesnt cover water damage and asked to buy a new one instead 😭😭 fml
I’m too late me and my family went swimming today and was taking pictures with my big sisters phone bc she has a xr and we thought it was water proof And she just texted me and said it started to mess up
Tekkers IT Solutions I work outside, so my phone always gets a little dirt on it. With my 1st iPhone XS plus I thought it would be a good idea to simply wash it off while I was in the shower. Little did I know you can’t spray water on your iPhone or have any soap on it. I think some soap broke the water seal, then when I sprayed the dirt off it waterlogged my phone. It only took about 10-15 seconds to ruin my $1,400 phone. With my 2nd IPhone XS plus I took some pictures of my 2 year old son while we were playing in a kitty pool at the water park. I never took my phone deeper than 3ft of water, because we were just playing in the kitty pool. I took a few underwater pics which I really regret. My phone is still working, but there is water in all the lenses. My Face ID won’t work either. What’s weird is the water damage marker doesn’t show that there is any water damage. It’s still under warranty. Do you think Apple will warranty my phone since the water marker is still white? I’m trying to dry it out now. I set it in an air tight zip lock bag full of rice & a bunch of moisture absorbing silica gel packets. I had in the bag for 2 days, it helped a little but there is still water in my lenses. I’m really disappointed in the quality of this phone. I paid a premium price for this phone, so I really expected it to be more durable than this. With my old galaxy phone I went swimming with it all the time, & I always washed it with soap. It never had any water damage. I’m really thinking of switching back to Samsung now. Apple phones are not what they use to be. Steve Jobs would have never let a sub par phone like this exist on the market. Tim Cook needs to step up his game.
@@YourDadVR apple cant fix face I'd no way they cant , they just replace it to a new one I have the same problem you cant really see the trigger water and electric dont work together dont take it to apple try to fix the trigger and bring it to apple dont tell them you were near the water at all never tell them it suddenly stopped working make sure the trigger is white if not forget m going to apple store to try
xTronKillmaster somewhat similar is my case no red mark right now there is a lockdown and I am wondering whether Apple will replace it for free or will I be charged a bomshell none the less my family will stay away from Apple even the extended ones
I have an iPhone XS Max, it was raining heavy the other day and my phone got soaked, I thought it was fine because it has the IP68 rating. I was wrong, I woke up the next morning and the front camera has condensation inside it. It’s nowhere near as bad as yours was and the phone has been working fine for the past 2 days but when the phone gets warm the condensation makes the front camera very blurry and also the auto flash feature in camera keeps glitching and turning on in the day. Do you reckon I should go to apple and see if they can replace it because if yours didn’t trigger water sensors I doubt mine did?
it happen to me today, I take a short run, and is start rain heavy after 15 min. I also thought the iphone is IP68 it should be fine. cuz, I do that what my samsung all the time. but is not! the xs max is dead after I got home! My phone is only 4 months old, and apple refuse to cover under warranty! I think is this a misleading PR, should be under class action like the case in 2013!
i have same problem with my Xs max , when i turn on after apple logo phone is on also blinking with green screen and touch is not working any one tell me how it fix?
Now I understand and Once my phone is fixed I will never give it to the one who told me it’s waterproof and if he came to the pool with I show him this video
My XS Max wont charge, its drained and when charging it charges for halfa second then flickers to green to black screen. I went to the official repair shop and ask for replacement thru valid warranty, Upon opening they found out all the water damage indicator stickers are all white but they saw water marks and one rusty screw near the charging port. And they want to charge 600 dollars for the replacement.... any opinion? My uneducated guess is that the one i must replace is the charging port flex?
I washed my XS down with running water and dried it with a towel and the screen went from green to dead about 20 minutes later... The IP68 rating is a hoax. I've got an applecare appointment scheduled today. The iPhone 8 I currently use is a fish compared to the loaf of bread XS
Keyvan Mansouri so when I got my phone back from Apple care it was the same device with a new display panel. I did some work with the phone where I had dropped (by accident) it in a tub of water twice for about 5-10 seconds completely submerged and it works fine till this day. The iPhone still lives but I’m still skeptical and will never want to wash my phone with running water anymore. I just use sanitizing wipes and dry it off after.
@@Its_freemund Actually I washed my "Water resistant" Xs yesterday, you know, for this coronavirus, and 6-7 hours later there was a beautiful neon green light in the middle of the display, it was there for about 12 hours and then it started to fade away and now it's gone, I wonder if it comes back and hunt me again if I wash the phone again. maybe there's a coronavirus inside my phone and it alerted me not to wash him anymore. what do you think?
@@PeteMatheson oh noo ): it def did not go in water, it was in my bag and my friend smashed the bag on concrete and yeah. It turns on but it wont let me unlock it because half the screen is green and the other half is regular
@@PeteMatheson nope no cracks or anything. the other half of the screen works like it lets me put in my passcode (i just cant because my passcode involves numbers on the side of the screen thats green). Also I should totally go to Apple I just dont know if I have any apple care left.
My XS got wet and is currently glitching like crazy, it barely even touched water and I’m literally squeezing the phone and water is coming out of the top wtf
I accidentally took my iPhone XS in the pool for about 90 seconds. I was in a foot of water - not exaggerating. I was sitting down and as soon as I realized I had my phone, I rinsed it with fresh water and dried it and did not charge it for 5 hours like Apple says to do on their website. The next day it was glitching and doing phantom presses to the point of being unusable. My water sensor in the SIM tray is also not tripped, so I am going to see if there's a chance Apple might replace it, but I'm prepared for the worst. If they won't replace it, I am going to buy an iPhone 6s used to hold me over until the iPhone 11 comes out and buy that. Silly expensive mistake!
@@13PRETTYooINooINKoo1 I made a video about it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M8VVWY6xbSs.html TL;DW = they fixed my phone for free, but I never told them it was water damaged and they never said a word about water.
Truth is no OEM is covering Water Damage, Apple, Samsung, LG, Sony, One Plus none of the OEM covers it but they're charging you for it, by the way it happened to me on the X but apple replaced it and now with the Xs Max happened to me yesterday same issue "Display went off" nice control quality from Samsung display manufacture. Whole phone works BUT the dam display and like I say happened to me on the X same issue and now Xs Max and its trigger me that the fucking display comes from Samsung manufacture, on the other hand my wife iPhone 8 it's been wonderful by hanging there with the threadmen my wife's give it but they yeah those iPhone 8 has a LG display not a Crapsum Amoshit.
This happened to my Xs yesterday. My toddler decided to dunk in the water. It started glitching with the green screen so I put it in a container of rice and left it in there for about 7-8hrs. Then decided to check on it, turned it on and it went back to normal
Same thing happened to my iphone xsmax. First of all my screen started flickering and some part of the screen didn't worked and suddenly the whole screen went black. I couldn't even turn off my phone, and then i kept my phone for a week in rice but it didn't worked. Lol. And i kept it in the box for about 4 months, giving up all my hopes. I tried opening it today and the screen was transparent green with flickering. Now, i cant use it with that screen colour. So, I packed it again inside the box.😂😂
My Face ID stopped working after I went in the pool on holiday, it took a couple of days to fail. The rest of the phone functions still work flawlessly , so it is waterproof to a degree except the face id(TrueDepth sensor). Took it apple and they I’d have to pay £600 to get it fixed......I don’t think so!! 🤬
@@PeteMatheson one Chinese repair man fix the trigger to white will bring mine soon to apple to try again different apple the only way you can tell if the trigger change to red u have to open the device because u cant really tell
Ofc! It’s not WATERPROOF! ITS WATER RESISTANCE! It’s not gonna stay under water forever, right!? And I also I owned an IPhone XS MAX and I will never try to do anything to get my phone wet, ik peoples say that it will still work if it’s underwater for like 30 minutes but me, and ESPECIALLY my mom, (she will HIT ME if I’ll do anything to the phone, she’ll literally KILL me if the new IPhone was broken)
I had my iPhone Xs max in my back pocket for two hours while cycling. I sweated, besides we went about 10 minutes in the rain. I came home and my cell phone was absolutely dead !! I never put my phone in the water, I didn't swim with it, I didn't dive, I just rode a bike. Thank you Apple for a durable phone. .. I was riding a bike with the SONY XPERIA ZX all three years before and still works today . Funny that Sony has the same protection IP68 !!! My xsmax is damaged and the service wants over 670 euros to repair my two month old phone, even though its rated ip68. They are liars. Now I'm so angry, and I feel deceived! On principle I will not give them a penny for repair! I threw the IPhone into the drawer and continue to cycle with Sony XPERIA...
Hey, so I got water damage but it triggered the water damage sticker and don’t got AppleCare plus, any other things I can do? It stopped turning on at all
The cant really see the sensor no way you have to open it to check bring it to a professional repair they will check it for you or replace it or change it back to white to bring it to apple
If only I saw this video earlier. :( I took mine to take video of my toddler playing in the pool. Only 2 feet deep. Now has water damage and Apple won't fix it.
