You saved my life!!! I spent all night stressing and restarting my phone and doing some other stuff I’ve seen on RU-vid but finally! I sucked out whatever I could with my vacuum for about 3 minutes, then I did the blow dryer for 3 minutes and about 5 minutes later I heard it turn on! I am so grateful!! Thank you so much!
This worked amazing! Thank you so much. My phone was fine the night before, and in the morning, it was completely unresponsive and I tried everything to bring it back. I searched and came across this, tried it and it worked! My phone is as good as new now.
I want to thank you SO SO MUCH. I was out with my phone in the rain and didn’t think it got very wet but I had first a black screen then a green screen of death. I didn’t think the hairdryer would really help, but I pointed it at the speaker, charging port and SIM card area for 3 minutes each (this is SO KEY! I did it at first for maybe 20 seconds each area before but it didn’t help). As soon as I finished the first round of 3 minutes each area I was actually able to access my phone screen! I turned off my phone and repeated the process (used low heat at low setting) 3 minutes each area, then put it front of a fan to cool the phone after every heat round. I did it for about 4 rounds and my phone is working perfectly now! Cant thank you enough again 💗🙏
hi have iphone x screen turned black all of sudden cant remeber if the battery was dead or not anyways plug it in try nothing black screen tryed hard reset over and over nothing at all pure black screen ! then tryed plugging in phone to itunes nothing at all!~ any ideas this phone not water damage just black screen no power! any ideas Iphone X
Guys be care-full that you DO NOT heat it for to long at a time as it could damage the components inside of your phone! It could also push the water further into your phone damaging even more components which could then be irreversible damage.
@@mysticaljuice4050 You can use this technique but it is risky, just be careful, don’t overheat it, leave it to heat for a min while going up and down with the dryer on your phone and let it cool down for 2 mins, if your lucky enough just leave it for an hour after that and you should be good! If not i have a solution get your hoover/vacuum and a sock, put your phone in the sock and get the nose/end of the hoover without the extension and tape the top of the sock so the hoover or phone doesn’t fall out, make sure its tightly secure and turn your hoover on leave it for an hour or two and you should be good to go! The longer you leave it in there the better! If it doesn’t work after 2 hours leave it overnight if it doesn’t work then it is possible one of the components are damaged in your phone. If so and if you are lucky you can pay a professional to fix it for you, not always 100% successful but you can try it! If you do go to get it repaired then don’t take it to apple due to it being more money then the phone actually cost you mesas well just get a new phone at that point, take it to a cheap repair shop. If you take it to apple they will be 100% successful as the expensive tools they use but it will be worth more than the phone its self so if so just buy a new one. (Sorry for the late response.)
@@camzy9970 haha yea the left side of my phone dont work anymore so like i cant press letters like a z and q so now i ahev to like turn my phone upside down so It can switch around the screen and then press the thing that i need but i can live with it lol ig
@@mysticaljuice4050 I would just get a cheap screen replacement it doesn’t even have to be professional just take it in to a cheap phone repair shop and they will probably do it for about 10-20 quid.
I experienced water damage on my iPhone X few years ago after battery replacement. The signs were it can’t be turned on, only black screen, and sometimes vibrating by itself. I did remove the screen, also hair-drying the internals, and spraying electrical contact cleaner to prevent corrosion. I let it completely dried on a sealed plastic bag with some silica gels for a week. And, magically it backs to normal except for true depth camera sensor which makes my Face ID disabled.
@@HoneyDippedStudios I never believed in "rice method". I know it can absorb moisture. But, for a water damaged iPhone, it will take forever to dry. And, because rice is an organic material, the pertinent risks are debris and corrosion can happen to the phone. For my experience, I open the display and body, put in a sealed plastic bag with silica gels, so dust particles or oxygen couldn't intertwine with the drying process. Your phone can be totaled if corrosion happens inside. If you plug it in while the internals are still damp, it could result in a completely dead phone. Tips: make sure the internal are clean. I did prevent the corrosion by spraying electical contact cleaner which also remove dust particles.
Amazing what electronics can go through and easily fixed I’m fixing mine and water has been in it for 2 days and it was still drenched and by the looks of it I think it’s going to work
My phone just got water damaged right now so imma open it up when I get home and scrub the motherboard up with rubbing alchohol so it actually gets better I thought it broke cuz my friend actually threw it but I noticed moisture on the camera lens and as soon as it got damaged Face ID went and right now the speakers and Taptic Engine went out so I’m going to see if rubbing alchohol fixes it
I tried to charge my cracked phone too. It cracked, did I ruin it, it had abit of jumping and crash look when I tried to charge it then disappeared, I removed it and removed battery etc. Have I ruined my phone??
Regarding that van that did a hit and run, you need to take the case to small claims. When you are hit, you are ENTITLED to their information ESPECIALLY their insurance.
That’s good to know. I would’ve opened a lawsuit claim but the original police that was involved re-opened the case and I ended up filing a insurance claim and won. But thank you very much for your advice and information.
i went into the water with my phone for about 2 or 2 and a half minutes and there is a crack in the front screen to the point there there’s a hole on the top left hand corner
Ok I think I'm totally fucked ok so.. I was at lava and I dropped my iPhone xr in the water and it's hot water and like it fell all the way down and when I pulled back up and it just shut off and it hasn't turned on since:(
i have my front screen cracked but only a couple of drops of water might entered the phone is it possible that this damaged my phone .The problem i got is that in the place i think the water hot out my screen isnt reacting.
I khow this is dumb but i was eating cereal and my phone fell in the dumb person that i am i washed it and then i was crying because i dont have money to buy another one now i have to see if this works
Phone was 2 months old, no drops or anything and it was in a swimming pool, about a foot deep for 5 minutes. The screen is fine but the phone shuts off for hours and takes hours to charge as well as running out quickly, is my battery damaged?
Yes you might need to get a new battery. Do not get it from apple as it is expensive just get it of a different company. (Make sure it is the same battery as your phone!)
Is there any way to clean the sensor without replacing it? My phone fell into the river and stucked in boot loop but after opening it and disconnecting the faceid cable I was able to restart it. How do I clean the sensor so I don’t have to replace it? If I will be able to with what liquid do I use? THANK YOU 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm pretty sure there is no way to clean the sensor my phone fell into my pool and ive tried everything face id just won't work anymore sorry about that
what should I do my phone has been in the rice for about 14-5 hours it first didn't work at all but know it just says its not charged should I charge it or not
@@ghostyface6759 yes kinda i fixed it by letting it in there for 24 more hours then brought it to the store and they fixed it but my volume butten is broken
I’m my iPhone XR has water damage it did work for about 2 hours then it got black screen Plugged it into the computer and appears as DFU mode what can I do???
I've water damaged my pixel 4a, as a result top 1/5th of the touchscreen stopped responding, I opened it up and saw a red watermark down at the charging port. What do I do? Which parts of the phone can I soak in the rubbing alcohol and which ones I can not? Thank u
I don't even know how mine got damaged. I wiped it with a wet rag and dried it off and it was working fine. The next day i noticed my screen wouldnt turn on. But the phone was on. Charged. So i brought it in and found out there's water damage. When the only exposure to water was just the wet rag.
If it did break your screen its because you heated it for to long at a time, only heat it for 3 mins at max also let it cool down fully before doing it again!
My iPhone XS just fell in the toilet I blow dried it and put it in white rice. I’ll let y’all know if it turns back on in 2 days. If it don’t imma just get it fixed (Update 1 day later) It worked!!!! I took the SIM card out and the plate and I blow dried the charger hole and SIM card hole. don’t have it to close cause u don’t wanna burn yo phone. Then I put it in rice and let it dry and it did just that. * make sure u suck as much water as u can out * and be patient that’s the main key. Don’t mess with it while it’s in the rice.
I dipped my phone into the river just to see if my phone are water proof. It still work but it last like 10 min. i hear the silence turn of sound but the screen was black. So ill blow the charging port and ill try to put it in rice and let it sit in there for 1 day. I will let yall know if its working.
I have an iPhone X. I dropped it in sink water for 5 seconds. It’s been sitting in dry silica pods for a week now…. It turns on, charges, seems to work fine except I can’t touch anything on the screen. Any advice?
@@xlobrjt3985 thanks lol i hope it works it said do not use charger and after an ,1 hour it stop saying that so i just let it charge then all of a sudden it started flickering
