Good old Whiteheads photos. thankyou. it used to be a great treat to go and collect photos at Whiteheads, then to the Coles for pie chips and gravy, then to the Dentist because the only reason you would have had a day off school would have been to go to the dentist (privileged though that we were able to go to the dentist)
Ho ! How cools these photos. I'm 60 now and in n" out of Ipswich quite regularly thought the year taking my wife shopping. I settled in Plainlands 20 years ago and always been interested in Ipswich coal mining history and the wealth and prosperity it brought . I'm lucky enough to see these buildings and have often wondered their past. Since the introduction of the internet my interests have been fed with wonderful videos such as this. Well done.
I thought this was Ipswich England....for a lot of this....because of the ford prefect....but I now think it's in Australia somewhere....ive only been to Ipswich England a couple of times in the late teenies so it was easy to get thrown..
Ipswich. Main regional city West of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I have a couple of Fords. Not Prefects though: Falcons. UK Fords were sold here. Pilot, Anglia, Prefect, Consul, Zephyr, Transit, Capri, Escort, Cortina. All no more, except for the Transit, that made a return, after a break during 1980s.
Hi there. It is definitely where it is in the video. Take a look at the intricate facade work below where is says Faulkner Motors and the detailing around the windows which turns to red in the current version. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
Born here and it was so busy and alive in the 70/80s every shop was alive and open up and down Brisbane and Limestone street then they made the mall and it killed the entire city centre now its a pile shit.
