Starting off the new year back in January wasn't a good start for National Express East Anglia, they were about to change from NXEA to Greater Anglia, before the changeover happened, NXEA offered a £5.00 seat sale in advance fares from London Liverpool Street to other Destinations.
This was the perfect plan to go to a place called Ipswich which has Loco Haul AC Electrics as their expresses and a stabling point full of Diesels!
During the past 2 years this trip had been put off over and over but not today, Sim0nTrains started his journey at Rugeley Trent Valley and travelled down the West Coast Main Line to London Euston, then caught the Northern Line which is worked by 1995 Tube Stock to a place which has been mentioned in my Documentaries since 16th January... Moorgate!
Even know it was tempting to head back there, it wasn't planned for an First Capital Connect Invasion, Moorgate today was just to change, at the Circle/Hammersmith & City/Metropolitan Line station, boarded the future... S STOCK! To Liverpool Street to change onto a Class 90 to Ipswich, after travelling on the Great Eastern Main Line stayed at Ipswich and had a great time and return to London and travelled to Euston Square, then walked it to Euston Railway Station to travel back home 1st Class!!!
