iRacing - BMW M4 GT3 vs Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo

In this sim racing video, I compare the two new cars in iRacing, the BMW M4 GT3 and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo. I put the cars through their paces with three laps of the Watkins Glen International Boot, two laps of Spa-Francorchamps and three laps of Laguna Seca. These cars are available now, in the new iRacing 2021 Season 1. These cars are this seasons are the pick of the GT3's taking part in IMSA.

To me, the Lamborghini is actually the more comfortable and easy to drive car once you take 5-10 mm of rake out. The BMW is better on the base setup, but is never fully comfortable on a modified setup. Where as I can make the Lamborghini a perfect partner on any track. But they are really well balanced for competition to each other.

I bought the Lambo last week (don't have the BMW), and have been comparing it with the Ferrari GT3 on different tracks. On every track, I like the feel of the Ferrari better but I'm always a little faster in the Lambo. I'm using the fixed setups. Don't know if it's due to driving style, setup, or maybe the Lambo is just faster? I've had the good fortune to turn a few laps with each on a real track and it's uncanny how the SIM feel imitates the real feel.

I agree with these statements, for me the lambo is a better car for me personally as it is more pointy at the front. The BMW is an easier car to drive and for me feels more like a gt4. Lambo can definitely be fast and is very similiar to the Audi. We’ll see how they are spread in VRS sprint races. I think Audi and Ferrari and lambo will be the most used

i heard that there was actually a problem with the stock setups of the lambo- i vaguely remember hearing that enlarging the rear brake drums(?) to the same size as the front should fix some of the oversteer troubles? idk, i'm just a nubbin

Nice video. I think some of the FFB is due to the fact that there is more weight on the front, the BMW feels more detailed. The Lambo seems very-very similiar to the one i race daily in ACC. Loves to lift off oversteer and even in coast. But it made me go from the old BMW to the Lambo. There is a challenge in mastering and managing the Lambo. It deffo needs more setup work for individual driving styles. Seems the version in iRacing is the same, just a little softer rear and perhaps a brake balance adjustment and it would be good. I won't buy either of these as i don't use iRacing for GT3 content, however Lambo would be my pick. Just has the sound (just can't beat a V10), the looks and is just more fun to drive. But like you say, i would not give it to a beginner. BMW is a much more safer bet since the provided setups for that are simply much more stable, so you don't need to dive into the setup right away.

Both great cars. Prefer the Lambo because it has a more oversteering characteristic. In this video I felt David left some performance on the track by upshifting so early.

Off the top, how would you compare these cars other GT3s? You mentioned you are racing the Ferrari in VRS and obviously the front/mid-engine lends to different attributes. Curious how they stack up in general to the rest of the lineup.

lambo needs to be understeery drive it more like a merc, late apex. very very very dependant on the aero platform staying stable, so smooth inputs are critical

@@Sampsoid i dont know david , but for me i quiite like this car , i was able to get 17s in spa and 16s if the track is cool so defeinitely a good car for me , but i have tried out the beamer yet so i will soon have a go at it

It is very normal in racecars to downshift as fast as you can. The engine will then actually help slow the rear tyres down. So you get shorter braking distance. ALso on many cars the lower the gear, the more the differential opens allowing for more turn capability.

@@sandrino5 Obviously they did. But it doesn't make any sense to have one car with a huge blindspot. vs the others. Some tracks like Spa, Watkins etc where you have a right hand turn going uphill makes it very hard to see.

Hello. This game costs a lot. The graphics are a joke. The physics .. yes, very good. In comparsion to ACC or RaceRoom it's a very expensive desicion... sad spending that much money for that. 😳 Just my opinion. Bye, roly 👋🇨🇭
