iRacing - Ford GT GTE & Ferrari 488 GTE Comparison 

Driving the Ford GT GTE you should shift at the second green indicator, as there is performance fall-off after that. At least that's what iRacing said on the forums, that they got the info from the Ford engineers.

When I went to watch the WEC in Silverstone and Bahrain, the Ford GT was A LOT more planted and quicker than the Ferrari 488 GTE by the looks of things.

Porsche Curves in the Ford GT is just mind bendingly mental. I went straight to the Ferrari and found it "normal" enough, tons of grip, good downforce, was well, a really badass GT car. When I jumped into the Ford though... well, it was pretty tame. It's super stable. Then I noticed I was carrying a solid 4-5 MPH across the apex at Tetre Rouge, then I found a line where you can hit the entry to the Porsche Curves in 5th and carry a metric crapton of speed... The thing just has such incredible grip and balance in high speed corners it's insane. Then again, it's a literal Le Mans Prototype. :p The Ford is slow down the straights though so it balances it out. It's really tough to race in the Ford though versus the Ferrari because of it - you need to make your pass at Indianapolis / Arnage and run like hell through the Ford Chicanes to actually make a pass stick on a Ferrari. Anywhere else they basically drive right past you laughing. GTEs are going in IMSA, with the C7 DP and then the Audi and Mercedes in the GTD class. So basically a circa 2016 iRacing IMSA series.

In my opinion that Ford GT GTE is one of the most beautiful modern racing cars ever produced, sounds pretty amazing to.(game does not do it justice)

Ford for stability, Ferrari for agility. I agree that having the display on the wheel isn't optimal, but I still prefer the Ford's interior.

I wish some of the other sims would get an official version of Circuit de la Sarthe. There's some pretty good mod versions available but they usually have some glaring inaccuracies in spots and they mostly seem unfinished. Being such a large track it's understandable but I'd gladly pop down ten bucks for a good laser scanned version in Assetto Corsa or RaceRoom, it's such a great track. Maybe Project Cars 2 will actually be good and scratch that GTR2 itch. I really hope so.

Christopher Walken: Pow! IMSA and WEC content, ya know, is a no brainier for Sims. I can't believe it's taking sims this long to get on board. Project Cars 2 seems to have almost full IMSA content with DPI's GTLM and GT3 from what I saw in the E3 trailer. If the physics has been anyway improved I may buy it just based on content.

Anyone feel the Ford has lost grip mid corner since the last update ? I was flying though Porsche curves now I'm struggling..same weather setup .

I find both of these barely need traction control, so I think 11 is all you'll ever need.

Jimmy you gotta keep the throttle going on corners. Fully releasing your acceleration will throw your cars balance off
