Kinane101 they sing both have you never watched the matches. Amhran na bhfainn is the national anthem of course they sing it. They also sing Ireland’s call because the northern irish players don’t want to sing amhran na bhfainn but the still do both.

@@melmonobrien6615 get your facts straight.. Its not both.. the designated song is Ireland's Call. Home and away. However for games in Dublin they are given a dispensation to also sing Amhrán na bhFiann as it is the national anthem of the territory - this is under the same section of rules where NZ are allowed to perform their Haka.. Potentially if Ireland play a home international in Belfast (which used to happen far more regularly) it would be Irelands Call and God Save the Queen, definitely not Amhrán na bhFiann.. In fact in the 90s, pre Good Friday Agreement, and earleir, if they played a home game in Belfast is was God Save the Queen and when playing in Dublin it was Amhrán na bhFiann.

I have an Irish passport and I know I was born in England, and raised and educated here but I feel more for Ireland. Rory Smith Celtic are playing Barcelona some time in the Summer in Lansdowne. It's some pre-season tournament that's spread across Europe and North America. I think Liverpool, Bayern and some other teams are involved. Not a competitive league game but a good start.

I'll have you knew for Irish it is easy to learn so they have no excuses. I was taught it in primary school like most and never forgot it. I was actually embarrassed watching this, our rugby team always puts our football team to shame when it comes to the anthem.
