Chocolate-covered (regular or white) pretzels are a wonderful treat at Christmas. Put together a small basket full of Christmas treats including the pretzels. Make a friend. I usually eat pretzels as part the Canadian Bits 'n Bites (barbecue flavor) which is our version of the American Chex Mix.

I'm American.... of all of these products, I e seen & had flippz. Never seen Hershey's or Reese's even in the same grocery store aisle as pretzels. Snyder's is the best brand.... honey mustard, or Buffalo. And peanut butter filled nuggets are good.

Yes, Pretzels are originally German and generally made with sourdough bread- dough. Soft pretzels and some melted cheese or chocolate is the best hands down!

Hershey's started to add the PGPR additive, which makes it tasteless and waxy. They are supposed to remove that soon and I hope it's milk chocolate original flavor comes back

Seamus on point about the Parmesan, since it has Butyric acid, which is what is added to American milk so that it can be transported to the chocolate factories without spoiling and gives Hershey chocolate that sour flavor. #Points

Every time I hear the Tryers talk about American sweets being overly sweet or having a strange after taste or texture, I want to know if they understand that unlike the rest of the world, we're stuck with corn syrup as the default sweetener. It's in everything that SHOULD have cane sugar, but the old white men, who are now dead, that decided to tax the hell out of imported sugar made it so corn syrup is a LOT cheaper ingredient. Soda, bakery, candy, chocolate, even KETCHUP has corn syrup in it. When I have a Coca-cola bottled in Mexico, I'm always blown away by the different taste because it's made with cane sugar.

You MUST have soft pretzels, pretzel rods and sour dough pretzels if you are going to taste test them. This segment needs to redone using proper American pretzels! hat is better than a warm soft pretzel with mustard on it? Hard sour dough pretzels are delicious! Pretzel rods are also very good because they are browned to perfection. It gives off a nice toasty flavor mixed with the rest of the pretzel inside and it tastes very good.

I get that, but reeses chocolate doesn't taste like Hershey's. When I went to NA for the first time, 20 yrs ago) I was really excited to try all the various treats and the very popular Hershey chocolate. The chocolate was a freaking let down, I was so bummed lol. I still liked: crunch bar, reeses, baby ruth (this one I wanted to try since I saw Goonies rofl), snickers, 3 musketeers was alright, starburst also good but not as good as some in my country, I tried more but I don't remember anymore XD.

Chocolate-covered pretzels were made because a man was sick of his pregnant wife yelling at him to get her something sweet and salty so he created these for her. Also on the same day he tried chocolate covered potato chips and then chocolate covered bacon. All are wildly successful in the states.

The main reason that Hershey's has a unique taste is because of the milk that the American manufacturer uses. Nowadays, the company have ditched the sour milk in favour of butyric acid, which gives the bars a similar taste. The milk they use is NOT spoiled, it would not be legal to use at that point. Some of it simply "not fresh" which, if you're against that, stop eating cheese and yogurt.

I don't get the world's hatred of Hershey's. It tastes like CHOCOLATE.

They're attuned to different tasting chocolates, so it is understandable. I have had treat crates from other countries, including Ireland and I did not enjoy a few of their chocolates. It's all dependent on your pallet.

@@phtevensmith7288 Yeah, I understand. I personally couldn't taste a difference in our chcolate and their's (I get foreign snack crates often too), but I definitely can still understand that. I've certainly tasted differences in other snack items from different places and could really tell a difference.

Pretzels???!!!!! WTF? Hopefully, there's a DURIAN FRUIT flavored pretzels.
