A suggestion; after drilling the holes for the nut plate and inserting it, screw a short piece of all-thread in each end of the nut plate. After the mount is in place remove one all-thread, insert the hex screw, then do the other. It keeps the nut plate in place while you are finishing.

I just completed installing this kit on my 99 WJ having a 3-inch lift and have some thing worth noting. 1. Installing the kit did bring control arm angles down, the ride is smoother and the ride solid in most cases. There is, however, a jarring or looseness in this kit that we have been unable to pinpoint. It only comes out when going over small jolts or large cracks that result in quick tire movement. (new ball joints, hub bearings, rotors, breaks, stabilizer, tie rod ends, and track bar inspected) This quick movement results in a....it's difficult to describe this....in a popping or jarring of sorts that you can hear inside the cabin. Sitting in a pavement parking lot, there is movement if rocking vehicle in gear. Investigation continues. 2. Install all in one day or divide into two. Either way, if you plan on running the included 1-inch tranny drop kit, then the subframe center piece will need to be removed or left off until AFTER you have installed the long arms. Why? Because the drop kit locates the subframe center piece lower thus blocking access to tightening the nut to the bolt for the lower control arms. We had trouble and so did South Main Auto (see their RU-vid channel)(a profession auto shop) when installing it. SJA Eric opted to remove the 1-inch spacers. Instead, I chose to loosen centerpiece bolts on one end and remove on the other to allow the subframe centerpiece to be dropped enough to get a combination wrench to the nut. 3. INSANITY. This kit is advertised for 3 inch kits but fits better to 4 inches and higher lifts due to wheel location in the wheel well. You should be able to adjust the control arm lengths to position the wheel as far back in the front wheel well as possible. Kit component (long arm tube internal threads and length of the threaded male insert) do not allow the upper control arm to be shortened to the shortest length possible. We were unable to position 31" tires further back in the wheel well than the factory location. INSANE SUGGESTION: The IRO rep (whom I will not publicly name) suggested that I seek assistance from a local machine shop to make adjustments in order for to make this kit position the wheels properly?!?! BWAHAHA 4. On page 3 of the included kit instructions, there is a small box of info for containing length measurements for the "shortest arm" and "longest arm". That mention is both confusing and misleading since the only two things that could be for are the upper control arm and lower control arm, or UCA and LCA's. There is nothing indicating what that info is there for. No wait, what is confusing is calling one time and someone telling you that those measurements are suggested lengths for the most common lift height of 4 inches, then calling again and having that same person tell you that those are the measurements for the 3 inch lift....sigh. .

SO the alignment of the flex joints in the lower control arm mounts has to do with rotation? I cannot get them to line up perfectly like the picture in the instructions mine keep ending up angled.

By the looks of this WJ sitting in the parking lot....it looks like the 4”....am I right? Big flex from a 4” kit if so...

Quick question - at 3:50 you begin to talk about lower control arm flexing with other kits that have individual upper control arms which is why the Critical Path arms you are pulling off in this video make them superior. Likewise; are you then pulling off a better product if replacing it with a Rock-Link kit where not only is there an individual upper control arm, but now the vehicle is down to only one upper control arm versus other kits offering 2?

Do yourselves a favor and get a johnny joint for the axle side upper, the factory bushing is soft haha. feels much tighter with the solid joint.

We make a UCA flex end in 10mm/12mm and 1/2" sizes for the top of the differential so no other brand is needed. It is a related product on the website.

I have 04 wj with a basic 3 in lift from you guys. Can the 3 link long arm work with the lift I have already?

I own a 99 WJ with OME 3 inch, so we are similar. Yes, this is compatible with the lift you already have. It will replace items shown in this video, and you'll use what you already have for the remaining items (steering stabilizer, track bar, shocks, etc) Ugrade to BIlstein 5100's for a better ride quality than the basic white shocks they sell for the 3-inch kit.

Yes, minimum for this kit is 3 inches. You should already have steering stabilizer, the rod ends on good condition, a track bar for 3in lifts or adjustable, springs, good shocks and extended sway links.

I've got the critical path kit, thinking go going to the three link. What are the benefits of the rock link compared to the critical path kit? is it worth the upgrade?

The ROCK-LINK kit is a fully adjustable 3 link kit which includes a HD high clearance cross member. This also makes for swapping axles much easier.

Fill me in some more. I am looking at either for my 04 WJ. The benefits in the link are great, but what exactly is the improvement over the critical path set up, besides being "the latest and greatest" as referred to at 4:14

Adjust the upper links. Lengthen the link on the side that’s sticking out. Shorten the other link equally.
