At Iron Rock Off Road we are known for manufacturing top tier suspension, steering, armor, and drivetrain products for the off-road community around the world. We strive for maximum performance in every product we bring to the market. We use our RU-vid channel to share what we build, how we build it, and how we put our products to use!
I started installing a lift kit on my jeep jk. 3.5 inch with adjustable control arms. Im just finishing the fronts. Do i focus on pinion angle first? To get it right? Or on caster angle? Also which arms do i adjust the top or bottoms first?
@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy Everyone thought it was the rear drive shaft. Once we got him through, we found it was an axle shaft. He's on the original C8.25 rear axle.
@TheBackpackingSailor Yes. We installed frame stiffeners right after doing these rock sliders. Yes, you can, and you should tie a roll cage into the sliders and the frame stiffeners. Both of these products would make a firm foundation to build your cage off of. www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/xj-structural-rocker-armor.html www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/xj-unibody-frame-stiffeners-full-set.html
@Aribrigle Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the hair complement! Jeep hair, don't care! 😆 Check out this video, the Jeep hair gets in the way a little! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ASWagwk3y1k.html
I have a weird one, Off road climbing a nice very rocky hill and after returning I felt death wobble in the dirt low speed. I thought no way. Finished my run got on the road all was good hit a bump and there it was death wobble. found my track bar had come loose both ends. Believe alignment tech must have left it under torqued. Most part all good now. weird part now, first drive after being parked first right turn usually a little accelerating and a bump I feel the steering wheel wobble just a tiny bit goes away asap and after completely warmed up I can hit the same turn and nothing. Rancho track bar, metalcloak lower control arms, 2.5 lift. stock drag and tie rod. fox shocks and stabilizer. wrangler JL RUBICON 20K miles. I'm leaning towards track bar issue as my steering wheel doesn't sit centered anymore. but before I throw a new track bar metalcloak this time, I'm going to do another alignment and see what the machine tells me.
@Raydawg That very interesting. I think you are on the right track, but I would grab a friend and do the steering shimmy test before spending any more money. Maybe something else is loose?
Warranty "sometimes" fix this... ONLY if Jeep approves it for the dealership to cover it. JEEP often does NOT cover this. They didn't cover it for my Gladiator and I will never buy Jeep again!
@454slowride We build a lot of adjustability into all of our kits. We use a very long threaded portion on all of our male ends so that you can extend the wheelbase quite a bit.
Reminds us how we're lucky if we get all the belly bolts out easily, then proceeds to reinstall them with loctite. At least the loctite will help the threads not corode😂
With the design of the kit, those brackets no longer need to come out. The drivetrain can be pulled by pulling the skid plate and crossmember out. Full send with the new IRO frame brackets no looking back lol.
@globalexcursion The belly height in this kit is extremely adjustable. Anything from a flat belly up to a 3” drop can be achieved using a combination of spacer plates and spacer brackets. Flat belly configuration requires a body lift or floor pan modification. Travis chose to go with a 1" drop (from flat) so that he wouldn't have to modify the floor very much. The 1" drop still measures 2.5" higher than the stock belly height and is a huge improvement.
Ive been sitting with this lift for quite some time getting all my parts new axles, gas tank, ect. Im just about to get the lift on but still need to get some longer control arms for a front and rear stretch. You guys make top quality stuff i cant wait untill its all done. Thanks for making a good video i learned some things i didn't notice in the instructions.
@jhinton088 Great to hear! Thanks for the complement! We design our control arms with lots of adjustability so you can stretch the wheelbase a couple inches with what is already included in the kit. Let us know if you have any questions, you can call and talk to a real person! 952-210-7185
@matthew7972 You can keep your stock exhaust if you do our front WJ long arm kit. If you want the rear long arm kit on your WJ you'll need our exhaust kit. A great option is to do our front long arm lift kit then later on get the rear long arm upgrade. Each long arm kit is available separately so you can build your Jeep over time. We also have videos on our channel showing the WJ front and rear long arm systems. @@matthew7972 we recommend converting your front driveshaft to double cardan if you have the rezeppa style. www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/wj-front-driveshaft-conversion-kit.html
@@IronRockOffRoad awesome and thank you so much for the responses. I read it’s good up to a 4” lift, do I need to order a custom length drive shaft if I go to 6.5”?
@steventaylor7400 Both Jeeps did clear the obstacle. We don't want the same comparison on a steep side hill though! 😆 That YJ has our WJ beat on low center of gravity.
The observation was the wrangler didn’t clear as good cause of clearance. So of course the Cherokee dis it better. With a little lift it’s clear it better all day. As well as any other obstacles..
@lifeinvader9032 Both our front and rear JK long arm kits are fully bolt-on, no welding required. Our front long arm kit for the JK requires no drilling, simply cut off the stock brackets and you are ready to bolt-on the new front system. Also, if you already have springs and shocks that you like, keep them! We sell our long arm kits as an upgrade to your existing lift kit to save you money! We always engineer our kits to have maximum ground clearance, pushing our joints up as high and tight as we can get them with the longest arms we can fit. We utilize a true 3-link suspension design for the best geometry throughout the entire suspension travel. If you are in a northern climate that sees snow and salt, we have found (through independent testing) that our powder coated brackets and arms retain their finish much longer than zinc plated. Last but not least, we design and manufacture it right here in the USA with same or next business day shipping! www.ironrockoffroad.com/category/long-arm-lift-kits-9524.html Give us a call if you have any questions, you'll talk to a real person! 952-210-7185 Or send us an email: contactus@ironrockoffroad.com or tech@ironrockoffroad.com
@just2talk212 Keep in mind this is wet and muddy limestone, not grippy sandstone. Also, our WJ is driven by someone who loves to hear the sound of his V8. 😆
@@IronRockOffRoad - Don't get me wrong, I want a IRO 4.5 long arm kit so bad I can taste it. Money being the issue at the moment. My comment was really knocking at the need for giant tires :) And I wasn't kidding- me on non grippy sandstone last weekend: (Badlands, IN) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7B-FbPoQEHo.html
@@just2talk212 No worries! Your WJ looks great and clearly gets the job done! We might have a sale coming up soon if you want that long arm kit! 😎 Either way, keep enjoying your Jeep and we'll see you out on the trail!
@atwebb26 & @travispowers2567 We figured it was time to get him his own since he keeps taking everyone else's. Maybe after a couple more videos we'll actually give him a clean one! 😆
@p.a.f.offroad7551 Haha, we get it. RU-vid is trying to be more like other social media platforms with their "shorts". We have a few more sales coming in the near future. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and RU-vid to stay in the loop!
@lekendrickkelly6077 Check out our death wobble checklist: www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2/DeathWobbleChecklist.pdf I would also encourage you to watch the death wobble video all the way through and apply the steps shown.
