One of the first robotic vacuum cleaners was the Roomba Discovery 4210 from 2006 / 2007. With carefull maintenance it is still fully working today - in 2021.
I have two of these bad boys still up and running. I have been replacing parts, taking them apart for repairs and cleaning, and a bit of soldering for 17 years now. They work very well, but it’s more of a hobby. Good job keeping your Discovery alive.
I have several of these, many I bought on Kijiji for $20, and they all work flawlessly. On average I replace the batteries every 2 to 3 years, do a little cleaning using an air compressor to blow away some dust and away they go. Great little machine for bare floors or low pile carpet.
I have one of these. Lately the battery won't charge to a full voltage of more or less 14V. The charger puts out 22.4V, which is what it is supposed to do. However, the charging station measures only 4.38V at the docking poles. I plugged the charger directly into the Roomba, but still won't charge to the fullest. I replaced the battery and the docking station but with the same results. Any idea what to look for next?
Ive got a 560 that works had extra brushes, filters, charger and 2 virtual wall lighthouses and I got charging error 5 twice after replacing the battery even still but since the last time it’s been working fine and it picks up so much and I know it’s not dirty contacts because one time it was from the plug-ins on the side and the other time it was on the dock
