Omg... this past weekend I did some mapping. Removed as much as I can to make the Roomba S9+ map easier. I even raised my dining room table with small pieces of wood so it could map more. Awesome map. Did 3 mapping runs, marked the no go zones, and finished with a cleaning run.
Wonderful video! Thank you for speaking slower and clearer. In many other videos, they talk very fast and click away. Hard to follow. Also, no irritating music! Love your video!
Your roomba videos have really helped me out! I recently bought a roomba 692 on an Amazon open box deal for $85. I saw it and thought I had to for that price. I originally watched your video on the 692 and am excited for it to arrive
I got an i7 of my own a couple weeks ago. *_For a vSLAM robot_* , iRobot's mapping features are surprisingly good. On 3.10.8, I can take the robot literally anywhere in the house, tell it to go home, and after a couple seconds of localizing it will begin heading straight for home. I can also use this for a pointless thing that I like to do sometimes: manually taking it where I want it, then through the app telling it to clean in that room. It immediately realizes it's already where it needs to be and gets to work. It'll even drive all the way back home when it's done, even though it didn't start from home.
Great Vid ... thanks. One question after you map a space if you find that you need to move the unit to another wall can you edit your map showing the new home or do you need to remap the space. FYI I just bought the J7+ and it should be delivered today.
Can you program it to vacuum one room and then vacuum and mop another and so on? You understand right? I have tile and carpet, I would want it to vacuum the carpet but then vacuum and mop the tile.
I don't have a mapping run option. I've done 8 successful cleans with several mess ups (dead battery, missed the charger). How do I fix this? Just bought the i7+
Great video. I am awaiting mine from Amazon. Question: What do I do about power cords to lamps and to my PC's, etc. Our iRobot 300 gets tangled up everytime we used it. We gave up and decided to move up to the 7550 (i-7) machine. Any ideas on that?
@@AdamsReviews Yep, I got mine Sunday and setup was a snap. I did as you say and everything went fine. Thanks for the video. It saved me much time as a first time user. I think I will use the old 300 up stairs. The i7 is very cool..
are you still checking this video?? Can't get past the "activate Roomba" (I have the S9+). I press the home/spot buttons simultaneously and nothing happens. Advice?
Just purchased an i8 from Costco. Your videos were extremely helpful. I am currently doing 2 map runs now. One question - When running daily on a schedule, does it utilize the designed map with changes (no go zones etc). Thanks.
Unfortunately my Roomba 675 doesn´t have that, that´s why I need your Amarey :) Only my Conga 3790 does that, and the quality is very good and accurate, you should try one. But that map from i6+ it´s not that bad :)
When setting up the mapping my i8 has missed the kitchen and family room. Do I just bring it into those rooms and hit clean, or have to do another mapping (but it might skip again), or is there something else I should do? It starts to go into the kitchen but turns back around to go back under the dining room table. But it’s missed the family room completely. Thanks
Have you noticed that keep out zones are bigger than they appear on the map? And clean zones are about right I think. Also - can I put keep out zone in clean zone ?! .... for example let's say I want to vacuum under my desk but don't want the i7 to bump in the desk corner which JUST FUCKING RIGHT HITS the sensor on top
I think I like my i8, but I find the manual/instructions not intuitive. I think the first thing it should say is do a mapping of the entire area you plan to vacuum and then from this overall mapping, mark and label rooms. Your video is quite instructive. Thank you.
3hs to make a map seriously cannot be done slower. With Roborock you can do Pin to Go and would take you maybe 15 min to do that for your whole house. I agree it's not automated but it's way faster. I guess same with any other lidar robot.
I just got my Roomba i6 (the Amazon version). I downloaded the app and set everything up. But I don’t have the little map button on the app. Any idea why?
@@AdamsReviews I thought there was a way to do a shorter mapping run where it doesn’t vacuum. Maybe it’s because my unit is not fully charged yet. The video shows a “map” button on the app. Why am I not seeing that on my app!
Explain "clean zone." Will the i8 clean the room anyway? What's different about a "clean zone?" Does that mean the i8 won't clean outside the "clean zone?"
Hello there. I have a roomba i8+ and successfully set up the first floor mapping. Now I want to bring the roomba upstairs to the second floor but I am having trouble creating a "new map" for the second floor. My irobot app does not allow me to create a "new job" or a "new map" and instead shows me a new map over my current first floor map which I do not want to save/change. Should I keep the base on the first floor or move it to the second floor to create a new map? I have tried 8 times to create this new map for the second floor and it does not work. Can you provide me step by step instructions please. I waited on the phone for 2 hours with iRobot customer service and they never answered my call...terrible! Thank you so much!
I have the exact same problem with my new S9+. Tried just putting him on the other floor cleaning, moved him there with the home base, finished mapping and started new mapping, etc. always the same problem. It lays the new map over the old map but does not create two maps. HELP someone, please;-)
My Ecovacs t8+ software is definitely inferior to that of the Roomba. I have seen reviews of lower cost robovacs which have better software than the Ecovacs t8+. Ecovacs better wake up or they will be left behind.
