Wow. Weird perspective/projection to throw at 2 adult women following their passion... 🤔🤔In our case, when we were in middle school (about age 12) we knew someone (mom of a friend) who played harp. She let us try her harp and we thought harp was the most magical instrument in the world! We asked our Mom if we could play harp and she said "No, I do not have the money to get you a harp". We were already learning piano - on a keyboard because Mom couldn’t afford a "real" piano. So, we earned the money for our first harps by babysitting, dog-walking, office filing, collating at a print shop, etc. They were used (pre-owned) acoustic lever harps. We began gigging as a harp duet while still in high school - working - and we are still performers in our "real" lives. Sadly, we sold those first used harps to contribute to the cost of the concert grand pedal harps that we needed for our classical training and University degrees in Harp Performance - borrowing the money for the additional cost. We also worked to put ourselves through University Conservatory and pay off those harps. :) :) We invested in ourselves again to also play electric lever harps that you see here. in this older video! We tour full time and play our own arrangements of music from Celtic to folk, rock & metal, anime, classical, soundtrack, "bard," VGM, and 2 full albums of our own original fantasy songs www.harptwins.com Have a great week! 💙💜

Most of the time distortion sounds "muddy" and takes away the distinctive sound of the harp - especially on RU-vid. We usually don't use effects on YT because we are covering ALL parts of a song on just 2 harps. Our arrangements are complex. Using distortion might be more feasible on RU-vid if we were playing along with a backtrack or a band that was carrying the melody instead of us. However, stay tuned because more distortion is coming - when it actually contributes to the harp and is not just token. Seeing this song live last night was amazing! Seeing them live puts a whole new context to their amazing ability to arrange and play together: 4 hands makes for a whole other level of physically-impossible-to-match-live-by-2-hands kind of wow. So talented in their musical mastery! Great stage entertainers communicating between each song making for a fun show, keeping every different person smiling, laughing, and happy the whole time. I hope I don't have to wait long to be entertained by them live again!

Thanks for your reply. I have bin taking lessons for 2 months now , it's challenging considering I have never played an instrument in my life and am 50 years old. But I'm determined to make harp metal music and put it on RU-vid.

lifefordummies ~ lol x2 Thank you for visiting us here! Here is the tea on NFLD: We travel where we are hired or sponsored to play. We were hired to come to NFLD for a large expensive event and we heard that we had fans who could not afford the ticket price for that event who wanted to see us. Since we did not know when we could get back to NFLD we wanted to accommodate our community in some way. One of our fans found a small place where we could hold a free concert, so we stayed in NFLD extra days after the big event (on our own dime) to accommodate our fans. So many people showed up to the café for our show that not everyone could fit inside. We could not disappoint them again, so our mom gave out numbers and we did back-to-back performances (and Kennerly was sick as a dog with chills and fever the whole time but still played her heart out). That said, we play in venues ranging from concert halls and opera houses to house concerts. ;) ;) Hope you can see us again some day... our shows are much more interactive and comedic and pretty crazy now. As to your joke, we are not sure why you think a rock harp duo would not get a tuning joke... because with this many strings we are always tuning... or playing out of tune. After all, we are not the Meatpuppets, and definitely not a "big, rich rock band" with a "whole bunch of extra" harps... or a stage big enough to accommodate those extra harps. ;P ;P haha! This song is amazing. All your songs are excellent, but this one is your best in my opinion. It's amazing how you managed to make this heavy metal classic sound so heavenly. This must be what music sounds like in heaven. After I die, if I get to heaven and the angels up there aren't playing some Iron Maiden on their harps, I will be a little disappointed.
