It makes me really want to be with them chill out with them no airs or Grace's at all I love the song greater love of god that's the best one they did. Blessings to them and their crew
Iron Maiden is the greatest metal band of all time for hundreds of reasons. A few of them being that they have gained the worldwide popularity they have today and never needed to sell out or anything to get there, they rarely recieved radio airplay, and theyve influenced some of the greatest bands out there today.
It certainly is I love when bands do documentary like this gets behind the scenes and just tell fans and the audience about how albums are made what goes on behind closed doors. I just wish I was their in 2005 2006 I was in my twenties now in my 40s how time flies it is really scary to know this was at least 17 years ago when this album was made
For the most part the main theme throughout the album is about the evils of war. This "in the studio" footage came as a bonus DVD with "A Matter of life and death" CD.
I admire Steve and the boys tremendously, I don't think any band has ever put the same effort in - consistently - over a 30 year period of albums and tours. Having said that, for me the best work that Bruce Dickinson has done as a musician and an artist is all self-contained on the Chemical Wedding album. I don't think Maiden have ever made a record as good as that and don't think they're likely to now. Kudos, Bruce.
It's because No prayer is the most underrated maiden album, and it's faaar underrated. This is really a good album, not as good as it's 2 previous ones but still the last good album of the pre-Bailey period. And at least, i agree about hallowed be thy name, simply the best heavy metal song ever ^^
I think that the tracks of this album include the best political lyrics Iron Maiden have ever written."For the greater good of God" is my favorite of the album.
@CrisMcBrain, what happened was Nicko went to get a trim, and Janick was teasing him about that the barber said he had to cut it all off, and Nicko then wanted to "kill" Janick, but there was a glass window seperating the 2, CHEERS, and UP THE IRONS!!!!
I dont care what anyone says, AMOLAD is the BEST Iron Maiden album and quite possibly the best album of all time! Yes better than overrated Number of the beast and Powerslave.

Powerslave 4. Iron Maiden 5. Number of the Beast 6. Piece of mind 7. No prayer for the dying 8. AMOLAD 9. Dance of death 10. brave new world Then i can't really say, they are still good heavy metal, but i can't really get into. So yes you are much more into new maiden than me, all my top 8 is from the 80'
@TheAmarildo666 C´mon man, are you forgotten Fear of The Dark album?? Just great!!! No Prayer for the Dying definitely has a good taste too!! Iron Maiden stills a great band!!
agreed...... both "Dance Of Death" and "Frontier" were good albums, but there is no comparison to masterpieces such as "Brave New World" or this one.......
I didn't espacially liked those songs :/ but on the other side i love matter of life and death, when many peaple think it's a bad one, i guess the post Bailey era is quite complicated for fans ^^
Yo guys. Did maiden write the song The longest day???????????? My mate is arguing with me. He thinks they didnt. He says it is a cover. Someone please reply. :P
