I always thought it was a purple, a reference to Armored Adventures, a show that came out around the same time as the first Iron Man

Let’s be honest the purple coloring was a much better choice than just plain red for Pepper since it differentiates her from both Tony and Rhodey

​​@@obscuremcu I don't actually think the rescue suit is the Mark 49 if you look on the back of rescue it says 0049 and if you look on the arms of war machines armors it says ex 003 "in civil war" also the events of in-game happened 5 years after infinity war where he was in the mark 50 and it makes no sense that he would jump over the 49, I don't think we've actually seen the mark 49 instead I think he built pepper 49 different suits, In the avengers movie The Battle of New York took place May 4th 2012 and Iron Man 3 takes place sometime in December 2012 which means he built 42 suits and under 8 months it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to build pepper 49 suits in 5 years. As he says in endgame Morgan "you should not be wearing that as it's a part of a special anniversary gift for your mother." Therfore in my personal opinion I do not believe it is the mark 49.

@@Jayven45 that's a reasonable explanation, but in pre production/initial promo art, and even in set photos. tony was originally going to wear the mark 50 in endgame. marvel is notorious for changing suits/costumes in post production. (they even changed the time travel suits last minute) the mark 85 was a late addition so the justification for the suits between 50 - 85 was left ambiguous for that reason. and by that same logic, Rhodes should be on the mark 30+ by endgame, not 6 (and there's even more confusion with the war machine suits because of post production changes that will take even longer to explain lol). but anyways the mark 49 is the iron man mark 49 imo, I don't think tony would make that many suits just for pepper after the snap. the last thing tony would be doing is spending his time building more suits when he's trying to adjust to a new life with half the universe gone, raising a daughter, etc. the whole promise made to pepper at the end of iron man 3 and even at the beginning of infinity war was to put her first, and not rely on any armor. here's some references for the mark 50 originally being in endgame www.soundpasta.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/avengers-endgame-behind-the-scenes-secret-shots-leaked-and-uploaded-by-cast-after-ban-lifted-by-russo-brothers.jpg blog.screenweek.it/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Endgame-518x259.jpg
