I'm back with my thoughts from Ironman Cozumel. Difficult day at the office to end my 2023 year. Thanks for all the support this season, I'm off to work out what's causing the problems I'm having.
There may have been rough times this year but you had may great times too. Remember all the fun you had with Indie in Kona. Also, ur kona race was super solid!! Praying your body heals quickly 😊
Bless you,we feel your pain. Rest assured,my wife Kerry has volunteered to accompany you to all your races next year. Dont go alone. She is a fantastic fun person, she is motivational and super organised. Lol.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Ruth! So many little things that happened to ruin your day. You definitely made the right decision to pull out. Been a rough year but you are a tough cookie and I have no doubt you will overcome this and b back next year! 😀
Ruth You get tons of points for toughing it out this year. Also you have reached a lot of people with your videos (kudos also to the camera man in Hawaii.. must have watched the dolphin video 15+ times) Take these and I am sure many other personal wins to come back strong in 2024!...and keep your videos going :-)
Must be very tough Ruth - I will always remember you cheering us age group athletes on whilst at Outlaw Holkham - real inspiration - have a great Christmas and wishing you all the best for 2024
Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) Find someone that is certified or take the program yourself. I have been a Therapist for 26 years. One of the best certifications I have taken. Good luck with your journey!!!
Hey Ruth! It looks like your cadence on the bike is quite slow, with the amount of power/duration you are pushing, a faster cadence will put less strain on the tendons and ligaments in your legs because its more power per stroke. Trying to push the cadence ceiling might be worthwhile!
@jonathanwales5949 I entered both this year. Not just the hills, but the waves were bigger on the lake at Bolton than at Barcelona! :) in future, I'm sticking with Barca. Also must be at least 50 hotels within a mile of the start.
You might need to check your pedal stroke. I had an Achilles issue and found that when I rode hard I could feel the my Achilles being aggregated on the upstroke - ie from 6 o’clock upwards. May be worth a look
