10/10. Irregular verbs don't end with -ed at last. Although I'm not a native English speaker. I'm from India and I usually stay very enthusiastic to know about new words and different grammar rules in English. And my dream is to learn every rules in grammar and at least 8000+ different words in my English vocabulary. English is a magnificent language.
I am 69 years old and back when I went to school, english was my worst subject but this test was elementary level. I hope our children in their early teens can ace this test with no problem!
1. Present Perfect Tense - always use the past participle form of the verb with auxilliary verbs *"has/have/had"* For example: speak - spoke- *spoken* Base form "speak" is incorrect. Past form "spoke" is incorrect. Use the past participle form "spoken". In addition, "has" and "have" is used for present tense, "has" for singular subject, "have" for plural and "had" is for past tense, both for singular and plural. 2. Modal verbs take base form of the verb. 3. *Do/Does/Did"* take base form of the verb. In addition, "do and does" is used for present tense. "Do" is for plural subject while "does" is for singular. "Did" is for past tense, both plural and singular. In the given sentence, "hear" is the verb that comes with it - _"didn't hear",_ so "hear" is in base form. The sentence is in the *past tense* because of "did" so it the answer is *"said."* Considering the tense is really important in the sequence. 4. As the general rule, verb and subject must agree in number. Since "bring" is for plural while "she", which is the subject in given sentence, is singular, it would make our sentence grammatically incorrect if we choose "bring". It should be written with "s" like in "brings" for it to be accepted - "She brings..." Singular verbs in present tense ends with "s" - walks, eats, runs etc. "She walks." "She eats." "She runs." You cannot say "She walk." "She eat." "She run." That's grammatically incorrect. Thus, "brought" is the correct answer. 5. Refer to no.3 6. Refer to no.1 - *"I've"* is a contracted form of *"I have"* 7. The voice of the verb is passive. All the verbs here should be in their past participle form. "is/are/was/were" + past participle form of the verb The cake is eaten... (not is eat or is ate) The candles are blown... (not are blow or are blew) 8. same as no.7 *was given* (not was give, not was gave) 9. Infinitive verb or the preposition "to" is always followed by the "base form of the verb" - to dance, to fly, to sing (not to danced, not to flew, not to sang) And in addition, when you use the phrase "used to" it means you're not doing the action anymore. You had done it in the past but not anymore. 10. Same as no.3 Hope this helps.
@@jorgemolina8858 It's because there is *"Did".* The sentence is: *"Did* you _____ to write?" The correct answer is *"forget."* The "question word" used in this sentence is "did". As mentioned, *"Do/Does/Did"* *always* take the *base form of the verb.* If these are used in the sentence the _main verb_ should be its _base form._ _"Did you forget..."_ is grammatically correct. Not _"Did you forgot..."_ nor _"Did you forgotten..."_

The sentence: _"I didn't hear a word she said."_ Notice that there are two verbs in the sentence: *hear* and *said* _"Hear"_ is in *base form* because it's the verb that comes with _"didn't"_ as in _"didn't hear"._ We know that is in the *past tense* because of *"didn't",* (as _"Does/Do"_ is for present while _"Did"_ is for past). Considering the tense of the verb, *"said"* is the correct answer, not *"say."*

I learned English by working with locals, listen to radio and watching TV. I never went to school. And I had all 10 correct! I did quite a few of those quizzes, got 99 out of 100 right. My way to solve (most ) is by sound. If it doesn't sound right, it's most of the time wrong.

I live in Oklahoma and people here don’t speak English correctly and it’s their native language. I had a wonderful elementary school teacher who would take the time to keep me after school to help me with English. English being my second language was hard but easy because I only knew the correct language. Back in the day they had wonderful teachers and I wished I had thanked them more.
These are so easy, I know each answer, without looking at the choices. I'm not bragging. I just think they're incredibly easy. English was the one subject I excelled at, during my youth. I hated school.

10/10 no problem. Raised by educators, no problems ever with anything to do with reading, English, grammar, spelling, or even picking out "tenses" of verbs! I may not be able to analyze or define exactly why one fits better than another, but since I'm not a grammar teacher in any school, that's really not too important, is it? Being able to write a correctly spelled, and constructed sentence, or thought, or paragraph is what REALLY matters, isn't it? Although, being able to define and explain why and how one verb fits better than another is also necessary, in terms of the construction of the language.
I’m proud of myself because i taught English myself, and then all of my siblings learned from me, and I’m trying to learn japanese on my own although it’s bit difficult than English I’ve grasped a little bit of the language so far which is a big accomplishment for someone like me.
Did anyone else have that wheel with the irregular verbs that you could turn and it would show you, like, the verb in one box and then the past participle in the other etc?

I tripped up in the eighth question where I thought that "She was gave a box of chocolates" was correct but the correct choice to fill in the blank is "She was given a box of chocolates" just because. This topic about the conjugation of irregular verbs can be a little challenging but rarely can end up being confusing. Finally my overall score was 9/10 and I'm still increasing my abilities when it comes to solving grammar quizzes like this one. I had a good time, though. I just tried the test and got 10/10 score...maybe because of my age. People learned things little by little and as one get older more knowledge and wisdom were attained through experiences. 🤔❤️✌️

Tips: Use 1st form of verb after can,could,did and to. Use 3rd form after have,has,had. It is the key to all sentences Edit:A lot of you're asking some questions.Here are explanations: In case of can,could,would,did,to.We will use 1st form of verb on 1st verb after them.for example : I didn't "hear" a word she "said", is correct.1st verb after did is hear not said so we use 1st form "hear" not 1st form "say". We can't use this rule on verb which is before did,to,can,could,would.for example : We “used” to "swim" twice a week. "used" is before "to" so we can't apply rule on it. We got pretty good teachers in Pakistan!

This shows how good native speaker you r?..I am more fluent and semantically perfect even more pragmatically superior than any native speaker, but yet I get these videos suggested so often, its not a curse or u should be snobby of the other way round of being suggested, rather try to be genteel,respect your course and not show others that you r an idiot showing disrespect for others who haven't learnt this language..

I used to do these fill the blanks since I was a kid.ive always loved it.im 56 years old now and enjoy this still.im surprised I got ten on ten since I haven't been in school since 1983
This test is simple, but I'd guess it's a lot more difficult if English isn't your first language. English is such a hodgepodge of different styles and rules, pieced together from different backgrounds and other languages. Figuring out what tense to use must be so frustrating 😬. The good news is that any of the words used on this test would still convey your point and any English speaking person would understand.
Have y heard people speak lately? I agree with Connie, they haven’t a clue how to use proper English or appropriate words. I have to blame the schools/teachers/social promotions, they all work in concert to “pass the buck” and allow those students to be someone else’s problem. Until they get to the penitentiary, where “English” is not a language.
Can't thank My English Teacher, Chhavi ma'am, enough. She taught me for less than 3 months but I learned way more than I ever did for years by other teachers. Forever grateful to have a teacher like her❤️
I learned these back in 2nd grade in the 60's (sorry, I didn't realize this test was for people whose primary language isn't English. Although, there are a lot of people whose family members were born in the united states that would actually fail this test !!).
That's some primary school level of English here, not sure if I should be proud of knowing all the right answers or not, since my mother language isn't English.
