The outline design of the tank took place in the design bureau of the Chelyabinsk Kirov plant from the beginning of December 1943 to the summer of 1944. Then the work was moved to Uralmash, where drawings and a prototype were developed. However, the tank did not have any advantages over other heavy tanks, and was also inferior in armored protection to the IS-4 developed (“object 701”). It was not adopted.
