They don't. I've had them with stock h pipe and an offroad x-pipe and they are about the only ones I've had that didn't drone. Idk why they're droning on this car
Its cuz it isn't a full cat back. Its just an axle back. BORLAs full cat back has 3 inch tubing all the way through. So hes putting all that through the factory 2.5 tubing.
@@TeeJay3710 the Borla mufflers are what's setup to kill the drone, no matter what the rest of the exhaust is. If his car is droning, something is wrong with his mufflers. I have Corsa Extreme mufflers on my 14 GT and they don't come as a catback, because of how the 11-14 exhaust is setup from factory. My car has very little to no drone, even after I cut my resonators and made it louder, the no drone stayed the same. Should be the same case with any Borla mufflers.
I've had Borla S Type on 2 Terminators and my now 11 GT500 with Kooks long tubes no drone on any of them. I know not the same cars as this one just saying I've never heard anyone complain about S Type
Borla doesn’t drone at all, he had to buy the actual cat back from borla and not just put whatever s type muffler on it, each catback is made and engineered specifically for mustangs and drone
Funny I've never bought a full cat back for the 3 mustangs I've owned and all had S Type axle backs with 0 drone ....My 11 GT500 was bone stock put S Type on sounded amazing but not loud enough so put x pipe no cats absolutely beautiful got compliments all the time even from Other brand lovers and then when cammed with kooks long tubes and now its complete not one time have had any drone issues
I had the S-Type on my Camaro until I got a new cam. It rattled my entire neighborhood so I switched it out for the Touring. Now it's a less violent rattle. xD
The louder the exhaust, the less likely your neighbors will talk to you. It's perfect - I hate loaning out my tools or being invited to lame dinner parties.
Was not sold on the tone of the new gen mustangs, but that idle with the Netami sounds GOOD. I like the volume of the S-type more though. Atak probably goes crazy on a GT.
What is with all these guys wanting the cars to be quiet. Every mustang should be long tube headers X pipe or H pipe no cats and some loud ass mufflers. You should want to hear the sound of that exhaust with the windows Down or up. People should hear you come in from miles away.
I love the S-Type on the LS-based and Coyote engines, but sometimes it needs some smoothing once you get into longtubes or different midpipes. This is the perfect change.
That's what the atak should have sounded like not the s-type. As with the AWE touring system, it uses resonators AND mufflers just like he added. Way classier. Did the mustang originally have active exhaust on before?
That switchfire pipe is what I am looking at as the bigger source of drone. IMO I would've left it the way it was. Sounds really nice and aggressive, what borla is mostly known for. If you want it quiter then stick to stock IMO. That's just me, everyone will have different opinion. Best solution is generally using a valved system so that way you can switch between loud and normal.
This S650 looks better than the S550. The rear design is much better. However, I still think the best looking modern Mustang body style is the true retro 05-09 model. I remember when they came out and how they turned so many heads and the Mustangs since have simply not had that same effect. I sometimes see newer ones and think “that thing looks terrible”. It often comes down to the colour and the S550 has a cheap, round, weird look as a convertible.
Borla has always been overrated to me I always go with someone else if not a custom. I've gone with stuff like AWE for example plus I hate those giant can mufflers that shits TRASH and extra weight for the same sound as everyone else? No effin thank you! Be different guys and find your own unique sound 😊
