I'm really enjoying the new update. I don't have the issues people are having, in fact quite the opposite. Cars are more natural to drive and I feel like I can read better what the car is doing and what it wants me to do. The 296 is a fiend, wicked fast. Also, the FFB is much more enjoyable, even in my humble G920.

I'm a 62 year old doofus noob. I used to play the console version of ACC, but recently bought a PC to enjoy this game and AMS2. Question: the updates aren't automatically installed, I assume, unlike console. Where and how do I find the update file and install it? I haven't booted up the PC since the update landed. I'm such a Luddite :-(

Really enjoying the 1.9 physics update to the tyres and suspension. After watching Aris's video's (and taking note for the setups) I'm getting around Mount Panorama faster than ever using the Porsche 992 GT3. This car is so communicative when pushing around the mountain section. Totally agree with you Will. I feel more connected to the car :)

I was on last night and tried 4 different cars that I normally had issues driving over curbs. Huge improvement to the game. I wish you would do 10 minute track guides on ACC. You explain things well.

It’s definitely a big step up. I have to agree about the connection to the car, and there being more feedback from everything. I drove AC back to back with ACC there is no doubt ACC is giving you more input to work with. The kerbs are definitely better, but for me the issue was always the snap slide that just came from nowhere. It’s better but it’s still present in 1.9 imo. It’s certainly changed how the cars drive. The R8 now feels a lot more unstable at the rear. A see this as a positive direction and hopefully further tweaking, can iron things out even more. Considering I’d not raced ACC for over a year, I now want to get behind the wheel again.

Right about the R8, losing it quite a few times even with other setups I tried and I know Audi R8 inside out because it was my main car but NOW I need to choose another car because not approved R8 for me. I think I’ll stay with the new Lambo Evo 2 but I have to see more in detail when I drive a lot more. Some busy times these days so need time for ACC. What where you driving in that year ?

@@bmwM3M5M6 As I race in VR, my go to sim has mostly been Assetto Corsa with content manager. It’s runs very well with my 3080Ti. With the mods and cars available, it does everything.

The ferrari is turbo charged, V6 twin turbo. It's basically the same engine that alfa romeo use in the Quadrifoglio

I enjoy it more now, it is definitely better from my short testing and now my number 1. I love that you are not losing control over bumps. If you force me to say something negative then it feels a bit more slidey, but that can just be a setup issue. The one thing that makes me use other sims also is that I race online with friends against AI

Really appreciate the comparison between AM2 and ACC learning curve. I had never played AM2 before, but my first run around Mt. Panorama just felt instantly easier. I prefer over steer in cars and AM2 delivered on that. But now that ACC seems to have fixed the curb issues, I might jump back into it. The curbs were always shadow realm material and I just didn't really enjoy having to avoid them. Glad to see it's much better.

I have about 300 hours with the Mclaren. Now it feels completely undrivable. Mushy, and just goes understeer, oversteer back and forth. On Mount panorama, leading up to the first hairpin is basically a full on fight to not have it oversteer and wash out when lifting for the brake. I really hope it just needs a better setup, but damn! Porsche 992 feels more stable than the Mclaren..

Some pointers with the new update - When your doing a Quli I have about 16l like before but now its your 4th/5th lap in will be your fastest lap before you could do it in your 2nd/3rd but with the new tyres they take longer to break in, Another thing is tyres PSI so for Quli you want your tyre PSI basically at 26.0 and then for Enduro's you want 27.0 PSI done a lot of testing as I have a Indy 24h soon so i'd thought sharing. Normal 25-30min race you'll want like 26.7/8 in the higher digests than lower seems to be a better trade off because the tyre doesnt wear out as much it seems like the lower the digest the quicker it grains so you might be fast at the start but then over time youll be slower and you dont want that, You will get punished if you push though which is interesting im kinda in limbo phase right now as I do rely on setups I personally use GO Setups but what ive done is use the normal Go Setups for 1.8 so for the aston at indy for example ive changed the toe from -0.4 to -0.1 on all and changed some of the others settings and it seems to be working pretty solid over the base line Go setup that they posted for free on their discord. Ive done this on Imola and im doing 41.1/9's race pace when in 1.8i was doing mid to low 40's so it makes sense about a 1-2 second off pace and its only been 2 days since the update so with proper setups pace will come back but there's definitely more emphasis in managing your tyres so you dont grain them and ruin them. For example today ive done multiple stints and quli in 1.8 I was doing on indy low 35's race pace with 50l 30min race with the new update my race pace using the setup for indy with the aston not the baseline setup im doing 36.8 - 37.2's over a 1 hour stint with full fuel and brakes 2 and then I did 16l brakes 1 with 26psi and I did a 36 dead but theres a high 35 in there and thats just a day of practice, So my advise is to try using the setups that you already purchased from whoever but changing the negative to something more reasonable adjusting your tyres and then slowly changing a few other things, aggressive presets feel horrid and personally using them Go baseline's are not as good as just adjusting the existing track setups from whatever provider you've bought them from but again it might be different depending on the car.

Finally this game has a proper feel for oversteer from the FFB, and I can drive on the limit of oversteer without guessing, which also makes me a bit faster.

Noob here. One week with a new Moza R5 bundle + brake mod. Been driving the Abarth in AC to get some legs. Advanced a great deal in one week but still had trouble getting brake feel. Went into ACC, which I briefly booted up when I first set up and was completely overwhelmed. Now as a week-old “veteran” I was able to handle ACC (with the latest update) very aggressively and successfully. Real key was the increased braking functionality. For the first time I could actually modulate and feel the brakes and was able to move the car around with amazing precision and feel. Since I didn’t really experience AC prior to this update I can’t compare the two, but with the amazing feel of the current ACC I can now really see the difference between AC and ACC. Your use of the words, “connectedness” and “confidence” really nailed it!

I love the new update. The telemetry now relates so well to my Buttkicker and I can feel the rear end beginning to break away. Previously, I could only achieve this level of feedback in RF2 and some cars in AMS2. Now, both ACC and AMS2 are amazing. Well done, Kunos!

V1.9 is an awesome update. The 496 is the best driving experience i've had, and surprised how much easier the new Porsche is to drive. FFB is great on the Moza R16. Kudos Kunos 💪😀

Hey Will so far from what I can tell with my Honda custom setups is that they need a slight tweak. Mainly due to bump stops and dampers. Now if you are someone who understands theses parts of setup it IRL then you will not have an issue and the setups when then make a little more sense and feel a bit more like what you expect to be.

its nice to see how they support this game in year 5 and doing so just via good old DLC and not paying per car and per track. with the modding community switching more and more to actually payed mods if you want the quality one, i start to wonder if it would not be best for Kunos to make Assetto Corsa 2 again a closed environment game just like ACC is, and leave AC1 to be the modders paradise. we have seen with rfactor 2 how the attempt to steer modders to another game pretty much failed. So i think Kunos should not try that. Keep AC2 quality wise on one level, bring only curated content and make it a true simracing contender to the likes of Gran Turismo and FM.

The new physics has meant that the tyres have less rolling resistance, so the top speed of cars has increased Means that the BMW M4 GT3 isn't actually too slow on the straights anymore

Great review and I have to agree that you can take it to the edge a lot more as you can almost sense it and catch it. Maybe its just me, but previously, once you hit the edge, you feel as though you've just lost total control of the car and you're in the lap of the gods....🤣

You’re right about the Ferrari. 488 was more beautiful. The 296 isn’t awful but it kind of is because it looks like a Frankenstein of a Lambo front, Toyota MR2 middle, and Audi R8 rear end. The most horrible part is that rear end. I should be grateful for new cars and a great update though.

Yes. IMO the 488 is the pinnacle of Ferrari GT cars so far. I love the #51 and #52 WEC 488s, the livery does such a great job accenting the car. The 296 isn't bad but some parts of it don't look quite right to me yet. We'll see if that opinion changes as we see more of them and more liveries.

presetup for moza wheel as been added . but i dont know why tc abs map are not set 0 to 12 . only up and down , not on tc abs map button . so i used my previous setup 🤷, but with their % of power ffb , that are goodish , only 100% not 50% for r9 , .

To me, the new Ferrari gives me a bit of old school kinda feel, but in a new way. After good 4 hours of Valencia for me yesterday, Ferrari is my new favorite car

I haven't been in the Porsche GT3, but I have been in the KFC Audi R8 GT car and it is a great car in reality. Still needs more power, buit the brakes are brilliant and the back end is hooked up in the configuration I was presented, but front end wasn't pointy enough, but the owner (not naming names) is not the best steerer around, Audi nerf the car a bit to make it easier to drive. I work for the great Paul Stokell, so get access to some cool cars and great things at times.

I'm more stable with the 296 but managing the boost on corner is tricky. I love the engine noise and interior of the 992 BUT it is very tricky. The engine noise of the Ferrari is quite disappointing compared to how the Porsche 992 screams. Loving the new update. Makes my DD2 feel more what a Simucube would feel but obviously not lol.

Thanks for the video on the update Will. I might have to jump on and try out the physics. To me Iracing has been my goto over ACC. Just wish Iracing would update their graphics engine and make it a little nicer looking. Even on max settings and color filter to take out the yellowness it is just behind the curve on graphics.

@Steve Michael In my honest opinion FFB didn’t changed, maybe 1-2 little details extra but nothing crazy. I also hoped like better ffb but yeah. Because most of us only got ffb so without motion etc there is nothing else to feel….

I've had that disconnect sensation since the update. It was in the new Ferrari using the aggressive preset. So that's not fixed.

The 488 looks so much better than the new Fezza, the new one looks like the designers melded a Macca and a Lambo into one car, it looks good it just doesnt look like a "Ferrari!" to me.

See I’m not enjoying the up date atm only played for about and hr and I drove the Macca and it feels really vague through the middle of the corner and I use a dd 5nm I don’t understand what I’m doing so for me it’s a different game and I’m struggling with it now

For me the new update changed the physics for the worse. I know people complained about curbs but I don't truly understand why. I used the Audi Evo 2 almost exclusively. Mastered the car stock aggressive set up with a few minor adjustments. Around Imola doing 10 laps my times would range from 1:41.5 to 1:42. Was able to take all the curbs with a minor adjustment to the damping.. I didn't need to make make major adjustments and I could feel exactly what the car was doing. I hoped on after the update and it feels like my front tires have no grip. What bothers me most is the only way I could get close to my normal lap times was by putting positive toe on the front and negative toe on the back. The. Taking the bump stop down to 0-5. The Audi naturally has rear bump stops between 20-70. If you try and run them the rear end has virtually no grip..

I guess it makes sense that if you’d really mastered the old physics it would take a while to adapt. For me as a more novice driver in ACC I find it a lot more instinctive. Maybe because it’s more similar to iRacing which is where I spend most of my time.

If you want to see why the new physics update bothers me so much, watch the real life GT3 race at Velencia this year. The drivers were sliding the cars all around that track.. Thats how the track needs to be driven in a GT3 car.. Theres no way thats how it gets driven in ACC with the new physics.. Mark my words.. The exploit car set ups will be even worse then before. But hey its a great way for some Sim companies to make money off selling set ups to suckers who could have been just as fast using stock aggressive set ups with a few tweaks!!! a set up will never make someone a Esports driver.. but u can talk the set ups away from some esports drivers and their lap times all of a sudden drop a few seconds

It's better in my opinion, but the new porsche is everywhere and slippery as he'll and near impossible to trail brake. Had to leave my beloved porsche 2019 and got busted on the new one and now I play bmw 22 as its way way safer, consistent car to drive than porsche 23. Cons is that thrustmaster t300 felt like a solid 4nm wheel in 1.8 but now even if I ramp up everything in acc and use boost it feels like a senseless 2nm wheel 😢 and all DD kits out there is a fortune to buy during inflation!

Maybe keep an eye out in your area or region for used DD wheel set up. Might get lucky there with a decent seller with the right price or willing to work out the right price you can afford

Give it another year or two. We're going through 2008-09 times ten right now, so just hold tight and don't make any impulse purchases. We're still not through with inflation and it's going to get worse before it gets any better. I'd use this time to save whatever extra currency you can for when we get on the other side of this. On the other hand, manufacturing is seeing the bottom fall out. So we may see prices for sim equipment explode in the future as it's not a necessity - it's hard to tell right now. If manufacturing can pick back up, we may see prices move downward.

@omnisyah i thought cheapest way to go dd for me would been thrustmaster t818 and keep wheel and pedal and 600£ seamed ok but here in sweden they sell that base for 1550€...its more expensive than a podium kit

In the short test I did yesterday on the new track Valencia, using the aggressive setup, the FFB felt really good, one of the best I've felt with my CLS DD. Then, using my own setup on Spa, it felt aa little less good, so maybe that is due to the setup. Overall a great update I would say. Only thing I noticed is that I have a little less feeling in what the front of the car is doing, but ok, more testing needed, and you have to get used to it too which takes some time. :-)

He’s used to iRacing where that’s like the correct braking pressure and also for real cars but not for ACC, ACC is 100% all the time, hope they fix that in further.

@@bmwM3M5M6 I don't agree. If we talk about brake pedal, you slam it 100% in braking zone (assuming GT3 car with ABS). Brake pressure potential can be modified so you get case where you push pedal 100% but that is applying like 95% of total potential pressure. ABS can modulate the pressure if engaged. No need to fix it in ACC because that's how braking works.

@@damjanule9083 Daniel Morad is a real AMG GT3 driver and stated that ACC braking is not realistic at all… so my point of view is coming from that because I’m a simracer not a Real GT3 driver. He uses iRacing for his simracing/practice. You can ask himself about ACC and then you’ll know. He has a RU-vid channel about Simracing and also replies to your answers real quick so very nice channel.
