Is Air Force BMT mentally tough? 

BMT was like a vacation, it was not mentally challenging. It was what you made it.

Just graduated high school at NINETEEN? I was 17 when I graduated from high school.

The worst part of BMT was the insane amounts of boredom in the last weeks doing RLA and sundays

It is strictly the individual. It's what the individual brings with them. If you dealt with pressure and/or stress before, you'll handle it in recruit training. If you didn't, good luck. Something to consider, keep things in perspective. The Air Force isn't training recruits for the infantry. Most jobs are going to support the jet jockies. Something I did before going to MCRD San Diego was learn as much as possible of the basics before hand. You can find your General Orders, rank structure, customs & courtesies, etc. on line. It'll put you a step ahead. While your platoon mstes are learning the basics, you can be studying upcoming information. Find a veteran and have them teach you facing movements and basic drill. Everything you can learn before arriving at recuit training lessens your stress level. Remember, they can't hit you, they can't make you miss chow, in the Air Force I doubt if they have "hurricanes", I doubt if they "thrash" you. In all actually, recruit training is a big game. They teach you the rules of the game, after that, it's up to you to play by the rules. Easy, peasy.

It wasn’t too hard for me mentally, but I grew up in a military family. But for some people in my flight it was pretty difficult

Hands down the most mental part about bmt was learning to still execute something without issues while being screamed at “chow runner”

Depends on the squadron you're assigned to. Wolfpack and Gators are the hardest squadrons because they are both battlefield airmen squadrons or for people going into SERE. It depends how an airman likes to exercise and learning.

I believe that it's more of a mental toughness then it is asking somebody how hard it was BMT. If you haven't gone away from your home at least longer then two weeks then good luck. Stay tough be tough thats how you'll survive the BMT.

Lol marines is the hardest when it comes to handling boot camp mentally. That dude with the glasses had me laughing. I’m joining the Air Force and happy about it. But I grew up around the marine corps and this dude has no idea how much worst it could be

We had a dude in my flight that got recycled for getting burger king when we weren’t supposed to😂

I'm extremely rusty with multiplication and division , does that come into play during basic alot ?

So six years ago I went in thinking it was gonna be a cake walk since that’s what everyone said before I left. In the end, I hated it 😂 needless to say most of us passed. But I feel like if one could make it through AF BMT, that same person is likely to make it through other branches and vice versa. Even with the stereotypes attached.

It wasn’t hard at all. What makes it “hard” is during the first two to three weeks getting use to not hearing your family voice and being home sick but besides that’s what’s you listen and follow the schedule it will be a good day for you. If you don’t that is a different story.

I'm interested in joining the Air Force reserve. But I think my personality will be a problem. I laugh too much, I can't be serious is someone yells at me. No of my teacher at school(I'm a 17 year old senior) yell at me, they say I'm too sweet an all. From what I know you'll get yell at no matter what. I'm just scared ill won't take the instructor seriously and laugh my lungs out.

Awesome video and it's wonderful to hear these experiences. My brother having been in the Marines, he has told me similar experiences.
