Thanks for demoing it, I had just seen it on a local dealers web page and decided to come and see what was said on YT. I will probably never be in the market for one but it’s a cool thing to see when new products hit the market. Have been a lawn equipment & trailer enthusiast/connoisseur for years…actually when I decided the arguments of family about sports was highly overrated, I just wish my newfound interest had also translated into a lawn company…hindsight is not covid20 & yet it is! Started admiring mower stuffs in 19….yes in 1987. Got my 1st walk behind used for home use in 1999, 2nd in 2004, 1st hydro in 2015, all have been 36” walk behinds. Still haven’t owned a sit-down model. I wanted a sulky but it was over priced and stuck with a velky until the hydro and the factory toro bolt-ons that I bought used. I miss the steering of the old belt drive toro T bar, that was a fun ride but backing and precise tight fence corners always needed a going over with a trimmer, still was a fun ride. The John Deere 36” was a welded deck pistol grip and I owned it 20 years before changing the height w/assistance of a chain hoist & jack stands (thanks to a YT’er) my current personal yard machine is the 36” Toro hydro from 2006 I bought cheap & used to cut my mothers yard and since she’s been in Heaven for a few years I got to use it on my in-laws property it only took a few hours to cut a big O’ patch of land with 36” swath…I was looking & wishing for a wider trailer and a bigger deck for shortening cut time, but I couldn’t justify the cost since I was free labor, even so it didn’t keep me from window shopping and drooling at new machines. Not sure your data on usage is going to be very accurate. That lawn looked flat and freshly cut before you drove over it. An electric motor under load uses significantly more electricity than a motor barely being used. Most people aren’t likely to mow their lawn 4 times a week t make sure they’re not putting any load on the motor. Landscapers rarely go to the same lawn twice in a week, so they’re usually getting a decent cut each time. Also, as an electric car owner, people tend to grossly underestimate the cost of charging. If you asked people what the cost of running their clothes dryer for 5 hours straight was, they’d likely understand what they’re looking at charging wise. Looks like a fun mower, but pretty niche market. Hopefully there won’t be too many sales or the rolling brown outs will be moving from California to Canada! Also, blades don’t slow down when the wheels do on “regular” mowers. That idea is from the ground speed vs. engine speed on the PTO of farm tractors.

Why do people like the Grand Stand? What's the use case? Not a bad machine but I'd prefer a sit down electric zero turn. Thanks for a great review

What kind of boots are you wearing? Blundstones? What model?

Maybe if you we’re actually cutting grass and not just running back and forth the batteries would drain faster. He’s another tip. Don’t run over branches and twigs and you’ll keep the blades sharp and give a better quality cut or save time on sharpening blades

Will it last longer than diesel? Really?

Lithium mine is worse for environment than gas 2 life span is not 20 years or more

Beware of that instant torque
