I could be wrong but when someone is very excited about electric equipment but doesn't know much about it, it tends to bring out the negative comments!😂 My rule is always read the manual before filming. Appreciate the effort!

Haha this was meant to be the “first look” with an authentic reaction. I do plan a more “informed” take. Electric equipment always creates controversy it seems. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Previous EGO Z6 zero turn owner here. I will say there are definite positive and negatives to an electric mower, but the main reason I sold my EGO after three seasons was the battery degradation. My lawn is around 1.5 acres and when I first got the mower I would easily get the whole yard done and be around 50% life remaining. Starting off the next year that remaining charge was closer to 35% and the next around 20%. So I felt I would get through one more year before I would be looking at needing 6 new batteries or have to charge up before I could finish the lawn. With batteries being close to $500 each I would almost be buying half the mowers price again after 4 years. I am now on my first year with a Toro Titan with no regrets going back to gas.

The 4 AH battery "oddball" battery is meant to be used in your Toro blower and trimmer. It's a lot lighter than the 10 AH so easier to handle in those handhelds, while still offering more runtime than the little 2.5 AH that the handhelds come with.

I'm on my 3rd season with a Bad Boy 42" ZTR. A few dollars under $4K delivered. My next mower will be years down the road and by then, yeah, I sure might go with a battery powered mower. They will have really advanced by then. The price will have to come way down too and I bet they will.

I sure don’t love my battery tools. They are ok for quick jobs but they don’t have the same power and are considerable larger than air tools. Battery tools are convenient when you don’t want to drag out an air hose or extension cord to do a 5 minute job but they are no replacement for air or electric tools. My Milwaukee battery grinder will drain an 8 AH battery in less then 5 minutes! It’s gutless, runs at a much lower rpm then a normal AC powered grinder. Even with 5 batteries and two chargers you can’t charge them fast enough. In about half an hour your dead in the water! Intermittent tools like impact guns aren’t terrible but anything that is a constant duty (Think about a lawnmower!) that runs off batteries is going to be next to useless. Sure that guy who says he can mow his entire yard with two sets of batteries isn’t lying. But I’m willing to guarantee his grass is mowed very frequently, it’s dry, and he’s not cutting any brush. If he was using a gas or diesel mower the governor wouldn’t ever open the throttle more then 15%! Now run that mower in real world conditions with tall wet grass and brush where even the most powerful mowers are bogging down at WOT, and that battery mower won’t run 10 minutes on a charge.

I agree with power tools and such, but with battery equipment like this, battery replacement cost down the road will be huge money compared to fueling up the same mower with a gas engine and some oil changes. On top of that, that battery mower is twice as expensive as the gas one. Maybe one day they'll be worth it in the long run, but not now for the regular consumer.

It’s not a progression it’s planed obsolescence electric mowers/vehicles have a life span and with these mowers only a very small window of operational life maybe 3-4 years tops once the spindle motors start going out and wheel motors the machine is basically garbage. On my machines I’ve replaced spindles after 3k hours wheel motors after 5k engines after 2500 these electric machines are quite literally designed to be thrown away and make you feel good about it because it’s “green”

An ego 12amp battery goes for $ 899.00 just saying as an example, I'll stay with gas, if you had to replace all 6 batteries your probably at the price of a good gas mower and every year the battery level depletes. Thanks but no thanks , didn't forget most advise not to wash either do to the electrical components.

It's nice that you're all frisky and excited. But all that money for a "nicer experience", and still just a 3-year warranty? The equivalent gas model will virtually guarantee that I can get 10 years and 500 hours or more for only the additional cost of gas and maintenance. What's the price for a set of batteries? If I have to replace them at 5 years and 250 hours, my experience will be anything but "nicer". I'll feel duped and betrayed by Toro and the guy that sold it to me. Without a way longer warranty, I don't see the value.

This won't solve your concern but is all I can offer: I have a bunch of 2.5ah batteries from 2021 still going strong. I use them for string trimmer, edger, and hedge trimmers in my part time maintenance route and their chainsaw/pole saw when I need it. I take good care of my equipment but they have a lot of wear and tear from the line of work but they are holding up fine.

Your dreaming dude. Batteries do not last under extreme loads. They just stop charging. Ive had to replace several large batteries using OPE and each battery is several hundred dollars. That thing uses $2K+ worth of batteries. 😮

Gas guzzler here. There's combustion engines over a century old still running. Planned obsolescence will proove electric is inferior to fuel.
