Hey Ninja, have you seen the Peter Zeihan interview on Joe Rogan? He goes pretty in depth on the breakdown of globalization and I think you'd have an interesting outlook on the situation
Corvettes were originally cheap sports cars, now they are a different market. Luxury and performance, not for young people. Prices are good for what you get, but not affordable for younger people.
There were lots of people that did not know much about cars buying on BAT...you could tell by how they were bidding up cars that were likely to have significant issues, but the bought them anyway at huge premiums. I was looking to purchase a specific make and model, but the premiums that buyers were paying were just nuts, so I bailed. Those that bought cars just an investment will be taking big hits if they are forced to sell them in an economic downturn. They maybe I get back in. The BAT auctions are very different than the live auctions; at the live auctions, you can physically look a car over at a live auctions and get a true understanding of condition. On auction sites like BAT, that just is not possible. While they may have good, hi-res photos, it's just not the same. I know more than one disappointed buyer who bought what was represented a car advertised on BAT as being in "excellent" condition that was anything but when they went to pick it up or when it was delivered
