A bit of advice when building a computer with multiple people present. Never hand a bare computer component directly from one person to another. Static electricity is a part killer, and just the difference in static charge between two people can be enough to fry a stick of memory or a drive, or even a motherboard or video card if you're particularly unlucky (though parts like that do tend to be a bit more robust). If another person needs to take it from you, set it down for them to pick up. Needless to say, try to avoid working on a computer while on carpet, too. About resetting the CMOS by removing the battery, you'll also want to have the motherboard powered off and removed from all power (unplug it from the power supply) because many motherboards will still pull enough of a trickle from the PSU to keep the CMOS clock running even with the battery removed. Another reason to start the build outside of the case (which they didn't do here) is to boot it at least once with everything plugged in to make sure all your components work. Unfortunately, while the rates are low, parts do sometimes fail right out of the box. It's a lot easier to troubleshoot while everything is still laid out on the table than with it all installed in the case. Even if you do install it all in the case before the first time you turn it on, definitely do some testing before you start cable management. (One of the reasons to test before putting it in the case is so you can do cable management _as_ you install each component.) Trust me, you don't want to go through all the effort of installing all your parts just to have to take it all apart again because you forgot to properly install an M.2 drive or a cooler backplate or something similar, or because you got a bad stick of RAM.

Just re-built using this case, very impressed with the access during the build process removal of panels is so easy. One point with your build that concerns me is you are extracting hot air over the radiator that is cooling the cpu, hence your high cpu temperatures. I installed an AMD wraith prism air cooler, temperature of the cpu max is between 55c - 60c running 4K ultra settings.

Installing the cpu was my most stressful part. tiny little pins on these 7800X3D cpu's .

There was a time when I was a curmudgeon and preferred heatsink-fans for cooling CPUs. Then CPUs got to be too much for the old HSF bit. While I don't like that AIOs don't last as long and are a bigger pain to install, I like that I can get less noise for the amount of cooling, plus there is less total weight on the motherboard.

I’m gonna be building in this case soon. I couldn’t tell from the fan orientation since they all seem to be facing the same way. Which are the intake and exhaust fans? Im assuming the top fans and the single fans r exhaust and the right and bottom are intake but idk.

I suspect with that fancy built in screen that the case has a relatively fancy price tag as well so can you recommend a good case for this build that will save some clink for the other parts?

the hyte y60 is the same case but without the screen and it comes with some fans. its half the price

Maybe a dumb question but... Why are you pushing exhaust (warm air) through the radiator?

I will be building my first gaming PC, a very similar all white build with a 7800X3D and Asus Prime x670e pro. I’m not sure what I should do for ram as there’s not a lot of options for white DDR5 Expo. Would it be bad to go with an XMP kit (6000 CL30) or will that cause more headaches or stability issues down the road?
@shrunty

Asus prime series is not good in terms of VRM thermal performance I think, also a b650 is a more sensible choice for 7800x3d anyway

it looks like all the fans are set to exhaust. do those fans have an option to swap the direction of airflow without flipping the fan?

Watching your videos is giving me courage to go for my 1st ever Pc Build. I am not a complete newbie but for sure ive never build a pc from scratch and the most scary thing for me is the 1st boot which can have some bios errors and so on. I am thinking about a full White build: CPU: RYZEN 7800X3D CPU COOLER: DEEPCOOL LS720 SE WH 360mm (here i want mostly a clean looking cooler doing its job and being budget freindly) GPU: Powercolor Radeon RX 7800 XT Hellhound Spectral White MOBO: B650 AORUS ELITE AX ICE (is a flash bios here required?) RAM: 2x16GB CORSAIR(any othe suggestions here?) RGB 6000 CL 30/32(dunno if the latency really affects ingame performance at this point) SSD: WD Black SN770 NVMe 1TB (or something around same price) PSU: Corsair RM850 (2021), RM Series, 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold WHITE(i want this mostly so i dont bother with white extenders...any suggestions?) CASE: Montech King 95 Pro WHITE

I am going to be real honest here. If you have done your research and watched a ton of build guides then you can be confident that you can successfully build a PC however do not be fooled by videos like these, you wont finish it in like 2-3 hours, my first build took me 2 evenings to do simply because i got stuck with my components, mainly trying to get the standoffs for the aio bracket installed on the motherboard, and also you dont have an expert PC builder right next to you to help you when you are stuck. You have to look through manuals over and over again to find out what you need and how stuff goes together, it seems easy when you see a lot of builds but there are intricacies which can slip you up, and as i said before you dont have someone who knows basically how every variation of a pc part gets installed. Also if you have RGB that can increase the complexity. Let me tell you aswell installing a GPU for the first time is not as easy as it looks
@JJFlores197
@JJFlores197 5 месяцев назад
In reality, all of this is highly subjective. Just because it took you 2 nights to build your first system doesn't mean everyone else will take that long. Some people with no prior experience can set up their system in a few hours or even less.
@wingsofspeed4023
@wingsofspeed4023 5 месяцев назад
@@JJFlores197 TBF you do have a point i suppose it comes down to how complicated the build is, but it is also important not to expect it to be done quickly then you would be pleasently surprised if you did do it quickly

I would go with the 7800x3d and the 4080 super. I have the 7800x3d and its a great cpu, if the 4080 super is around £1000 it looks like a good deal. Ram prices are great at the moment but I would grab the m2 ssd as soon as possible as the prices look like they are going up this year.

Explaining how to build a PC, you completely glossed over the internal wire connections, they are the most important part of any new build, take your time with the internal cabling to avoid failures such as the one you had or even worse damaging the parts.

For streaming you won't notice any difference between 7800x3d and 7950x unless you use a CPU to encode but you're likely using your GPU to encode.

Were you able to set the Dominator Ram to 6000 Mhz using an AMD? I believe that kit only uses Intel XMP from all the research I have done. I want a White Dominator kit myself for my Ryzen 9 7950 as well.
