Here in Australia three years ago there was a chinese cafe owner who got into the news here. There reason? A black guy applied for a job in his cafe and the chinese owner said he wouldn't hire the black guy because would be bad for his business. Glad this racism case got into the new and they closed the chinese guy cafe

When you understand that they are actually fascists, it makes sense. My father worked for a US technology company. He had a particular set of rare skills needed for chip manufacturing. In the early '90s , his company was setting up some manufacturing in China. They wanted to pay him huge money to move to China and help them but he refused. He saw all this coming and had no interest in handing the fascist Chinese our technology and our jobs. Our current situation proves he was 100% correct. If politicians and business leaders had stood on principal over short term financial gain like my father, we wouldn't be in this mess. If you think the CCP is going to "realize the error of their ways" and act in good faith for all of mankind, you are a fool. We have sown the seeds of our own destruction. When I was in college I became friends, with a girl from China. And she would call black people the n word. And chinese people who had a darker skin tone the n word as well. The United States was a eye opener for her. Eventually she learned to be more accepting.

Living in Hong Kong as a Hongkonger, yes, most Chinese people we called " mainlanders" are extremely xenophobic, not just towards westerners, Asians as well.

This is true. It could be slightly exagerrated. But I live in China and there is blatant institutionalised racism. I could write along article since February about examples of racism. I was not allowed to stay in rural hotels and forced to ride on my bike with no lights on a dark road with trucks as new rules meant I could not stay in rural hotels anymore. I am married to a Chinese person. Have lived here for ten years. Run a business here. Pay my taxes. And have not left the country for 15 months.

This is 100% true, I know that my chinese family as well as other chinese called African Americans hei gui which means basically slang for n-word in chinese. Racism is also directed towards all race except for the chinese themselves in mainland.

I've never lived in China, but visited often and long, staying with family of my wife there and friends. China has always struck me as an incredibly racist place at many times.

I lived in Taiwan for 16 years and I love the people there. They were always excepting and friendly. It's the mainland and the CCP that is the problem.

I live in Vancouver where the Chinese take up 20% of the population and can honestly say what this man is saying in this video is 100% true. We have soo many Chinese people here from the Mainland and here you'll find that the majority of non-Chinese people feel a little annoyed by them for many good reasons. As a half Asian, half Latino man in his mid 30s I have had countless times where I've felt extreme prejudice from the Chinese whether it be in their restaurants, corner stores etc. This is Canada so leave your racist ideologies back or home or get out!

one of the worst things is when living anywhere else where you don't speak or even know their foreign language very well is when you hear the local populace discriminate and swear at you thinking you can't understand them anyway... that just feels horrible

I was in Beijing in the 80s. The foreigners used to hang out at the beer garden in the Friendship Store, which was only open to foreigners and well connected Chinese with foreign currency. There was a big group of black African students who would be there every day. The story was that they faces so much discrimination from ordinary Chinese , the beer garden was one of the few places they could congregate and get away from it.

I'm a Chinese, those are so embarrassing, shame on them, I wanna say what the video shows are true and I really hate some of my people always sneered at other country's racism and they didn't realize we have the same problem or even worse problem here in China.

I used to do medical interpretation. One day, my client was a Chinese woman who was visiting an ob-gyn for her infertility issues. The doctor offered some sage advice for the patient, who nodded while in the doctor's office. Once the appointment was over, the patient told me in Chinese, "She (The doctor) is a black woman. What does she know, right?" I was horrified at such a comment. All I could say was, "Well, all I know is she went to a medical school and you and I did not."

Because I’m Dutch I’m able to understand Afrikaans, in the begin of the video. The language didn’t change a lot in centuries.

My Malaysian Chinese friend just came back from vacation in China and they wont allow her to stay in local cheaper hotel since she is not Chinese citizens. She also have to report herself to the police station every day. What a joke!

This is 100% correct . I live in Shenyang city, Liaoning province. During winter ,the cab drivers won’t even pick a non Chinese. Even if you speak the best mandarin ( Chinese language) the would still pretend not to understand you. And if your black or you’re an Indian, am sorry China is not the place for you. When some Chinese see dark skinned people ,they run, or try to touch their hairs, sometimes spits, takes pictures of them and make fun of them on wechat ,Momo or QQ .What is more appalling is that the younger ones are even more racist than their older folks .

22 years ago after I moved to the US, my first instance of racism that I experienced here was from my manager who was Chinese, which was targeted towards Indians and Russians.

When I went to Taiwan, I was afraid this would be the mentality of the country. I’m a black American who lives around a lot of Chinese immigrants, and even in my native country I have felt alienated by many of those who reside around me. When going to Taiwan, I of course found the people there curious about my existence, but there wasn’t any negativity behind it (besides being asked if I was related to Obama). I digress, I always hope the attitude of China does change to something like Taiwan’s :|

Hi serpentza I've been watching your videos with Cmilk about China for the past two months. I've lived in China for the past 7 years teaching and now I'm back in Canada social distancing. I can't agree with you more on every topic you've spoken about and this topic, in general, brings back some negative experiences I've had there. Chinese don't consider themselves to be racist. I've had many discussions with my Chinese students on race and how their treatment of teachers in our school differs when it comes to race. They still can't see it. However, when it's done to them they are all up in arms about it. The hypocrisy is mindblowing. It's sad but it's why China becomes a revolving door for many foreigners especially ones of color.

I can totally verify this, my parents are from Mailand China, I was raised in hk and studied in the UK, my parents are incredibly openly racist, it sickens me but I’ve come to the realization I could not change their beliefs.

When I visited Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia I spoke to the locals who cater to international tourists of which a large number are Chinese. Many of them did tell me that the Chinese were often rude to them.

Growing up in the outskirts of Los Angeles in the 90s one of my best friends were Korean and their parents were the most blatantly racist parents of all the parents or people I knew and know. They didn't mind their son being around whites, but only to a point, but when it came to hispanics or blacks, their parents DID NOT want them to be around them at all. Eventually, my best friend stopped being my friend in high school because i wasn't Korean. He started calling me white boy and completely changed. The most blatantly racist people I have ever known have been Asians and my ex-girlfriends parents who were Jewish.

Same happened to me in Vietnam on and off. Luckily for every establishment that said no to me, there were more that said yes.

When I went to china as a kid we got kicked out of hotel because we were “real” Chinese. We were Canadian. As a kid I was so confused and realized...I’m not Chinese

I went through this a number of times with hotels and malls in China, the worst two was when I took my then, boyfriend on a trip to propose to him and the hotel that does accept foreigners suddenly saw me at the hotel when we arrived at midnight and said I couldn't stay. Then it was annoying comments about me being american and how they closed my consulate. I just wanted to have a good time with my now husband but I was just upset the whole time (except for when he said yes). The second one I kind of got a little retribution though. I went to a mall with my husband (he is chinese) and I came up all prepared with my green health code and clear travel history only to be turned away because I am not Chinese. The man legit said my husband can enter but I can't. My husband, being the sweet man that he is, demanded to see a manager. The manager was an even bigger jerk. He asked where I was from and legit hopped away from us when I said I was american. My husband was livid. I had to pull him away or he'd have decked the guy. I found a nifty site on the government website. You can complain about things, I did it and it actually worked. Police don't help at all, but that part of the governemnt cleared things right up. The mall was forced to write me an apology letter (in which they detailed how the situation is so serious abroad so I should be understanding even though I live in China and never left, then they apologized finally) and they weren't allowed to turn away foreigners again. I've complained twice and to be fair, they have resolved both situations. I was turned away from a hospital once too, but my mother in law knew a boss at the hospital who demanded they let me in. In China it's all about talking to the right people. If you approach a government office like that directly it will be fixed immediately. The Chinese don't want to lose face so they will resolve issues like this to avoid it spreading. To be clear, I enjoy living here even with all the bs. People are ignorant but usually kind, most are eager to learn so their opinions aren't set in stone.
