A ramble surrounding a theory that Clash Mini might be the culprit of Clash Royale's recent downfall as well as how Tencent may be involved with this.

This video was more relaxed in its production format considering it was mainly just a ramble based around a theory, upcoming videos will take longer to produce considering (as for now) I am done with talking about Clash Royale, yet Supercell as a topic is still quite enticing and there's more to be said about the company!

I Think Clash mini is Miles better than clash royale, I am quite an OG, in the Game, I've been playing since the first version, Clash Mini has went trough a lot of changes, I remember even the old Challange Coins (Challange Coins Became Crystal Coins, btw Challage Coins were horrible), probably the biggest problem that clash mini has been facing ever since update 4 (When the game took its deepest dip in popularity), Before update 4, every update took around 2 months, but when update 4 came out, the updates took double the time to come out, However, ever since Update 6, the game has been getting a lot better in terms of retention, Update 7, was the best in the history of the game, with a lot of the problems with retention being fixed, and I am hopeful the game will go global

Hopefully so too, it's looking promising and I really hope Tencent doesn't interfere. They've been doing it for years now with Clash Royale being quite big in China (I speak a bit of Mandarin and I will say, the game is popular over there, although games in China are becoming a bit taboo) and I honestly doubt Clash Mini will have that much domestic success in China compared to internationally, which means less interference. From what I know, I'm the only person to ever mention Tencent's interference with Clash Royale and Supercell more extensively and may have to cover it in the far future, as for now, I've got other ideas to tend to!

You’re right, now that I think about it, a lot of games that I’ve seen that are free are just ruined by tencent. I noticed it when I played Pokémon unite and how expensive new characters are. I hope getting new stuff in clash mini won’t be as hard as that stuff

This is such a amazing video and it made me feel scared about the future. What if Clash Royale dies really and Tencent chooses brawl stars next as to suck out the Pennies and spit out to Tencent? Man so many questions and worries… But still awesome vid man!

Hopefully Clash Royale doesn't die, but I feel like it will become more Pay2Win, it's kind of like Pixel Gun 3D; the Minecraft ripoff that found its own identity before then turning into a cash grab. I have enough faith in Supercell (and Tencent, as their interest remains solely in Clash Royale) that they won't transform more of their games into cash grabs designed to screw you out of your money, yet I am fully aware that this is still a high probability as it's consistent within many games at this point.

Tencent reminds me of that one villain that you kill off at the end of the first season but then shows their face again in the second and third (I see you, Moff Gideon from The Mandalorian!) - They don't interfere with Supercell much but when they do, such as in the case of Clash Royale, it becomes scary... Very scary. Rumour has it they're even going to try and cater to the esports sector in China using Clash Royale, but I don't really have any citations of this that are legible in English.

I am humbly surprised to see the official Clash Mini account here, I know what I said in my video may have been a little harsh but in all seriousness, regardless of what's happening to your counterpart, Clash Royale; I wish the best for both respective games... That Clash Mini goes global (it's so much fun, please, I hope it goes global if Supercell can dedicate that many resources) and that Clash Royale digs itself out of the pit it's found itself in as of late. I think Supercell announced these new games (The 3 clash games with one being Clash Mini) since new games usuallly get insane revenue when first released, hence why they are hesitant to release them and usually end up killing the game before global. They don't want to keep releasing games and forget about them because their core player base and investors expect high quality. Clash Mini is pushing hard on trying to release to not end up dying like Clash Quest (and so far it looks Promising), but the game seems to lack a long term plan unlike the other games in Supercell's Library. Clash quest had the insane issue that the game did not seem to have a way to add "predatory new content" practices like "new levels", "cards","Mechanics",etc meanwhile Clash mini can just add more troops and buffs in the future. I don't think Clash Mini is killing Clash Royale, but it would make a lot of sence if the current team left for Royale are Unpassionate developers that only care about the revenue. I think these new games have the actual talent and are hogging up a lot of the resources, and while Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars are in a very good state, Clash was a game that was made to be mostly single player with multiplayer interactions, while Brawl stars was meant to be competitive and Clash royale tried being both and is now failing miserably at being both.

I think Clash Royale is the final fledgling of a decaying era in the form of the old development team (that isn't related to Clash of Clans) having a massive say over what goes on inside of their games; I admit the title is slightly clickbaity and I may change it at some point but it's an intriguing theory nonetheless, at least in my eyes. I think what Supercell is doing is extremely smart, they're not some indie game studio anymore, they've grown a lot in the past 10 years especially and I'm sure they're holding onto global release as they don't want to end up with another game that fails massively. It's a shame what happened with Clash Quest, hopefully they bring it back someday as well as figure out a roadmap, but it's safe to say that the suspicion of them purposefully sabotaging Clash Royale with Clash Mini and preparing for its global release certainly holds some value considering how these two games and their fall/rise has had a remarkable correlation.

Honestly I don't blame you, I don't play games much anymore, but I have a literal decade and a half of experience (I started playing games when I was 3 using my DSi) to talk about regarding games and it's nice to be growing a small channel themed around that; but yes, Clash Royale and it becoming an abhorrent cash grab is sad but true as I honestly believe we're hitting that point where games are made with profits in mind first and enjoyment comes later down the line.

My honest tip look at some older games at least for the PC market. Some good old Classics like Darkest Dungeon or FTL (Faster then light) or Enter the Gungeon or X-COM. Come to think of it all the PC games I just recommended don't have any bullshit microtransacrions. The dev off FTL was working at a mobile port I think. If he did it give FTL a shot I quite liked it and it is dirt cheap. Into the breach is also amazing.

@@NaidvarRambles I started playing games at around 6 (first game was the original Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3) and what’s happening to Clash Royale is exactly what happened to Call of Duty, it grew so large that higher ups only started to see $ instead of caring about their player bases. It’s really sad to see good games get destroyed by corporate greed

Clash mini seems like something close to a game called team fight tactics, which could be a bad or good thing. Compared to clash Royale I think it is a bad thing, since the interactions are very different and not that fast paced 3 minute games. Team fight tactics is supposedly pretty successful in Asia though, so it might drive in a new audience.

I've actually played that game before and I've noticed the similarities but I think some of the elements differ significantly enough to the point where it can be considered its own independent game. Teamfight tactics has its own Mandarin version, 云顶之弈 (Chess match over the clouds) and it's incredibly successful; there's a chance that Tencent and Supercell to an extent wish to create a higher quality competitor inside of a market ripe with many minds.

The fact that i satarted playing clash mini this week and i have already maxed out obe deck is amazing. I remember when i started on cr, princess and i wiz were new and you can upgrade them to lvl 4 ( wich is a lvl 13 legendary today xd). I'm lovin this game

I am someone who was playing clash mini from the start and have even been in the top 1000 at times so i can understand the points you've made in the video. The idea you're conveying that it's possible that clash royal is being milked dry due to the eventual global launch of clash mini is an interesting one. I've stopped playing clash royale a long time ago so I don't really know its state right now, but if it is as bad as everyone keeps saying then I can see why people would start theorizing things like this, especially when put in contrast with the recent expansions and improvements to clash mini. Overall nice vid, it's an interesting theory which brings forward quite a few possibly concerning questions, but still very thoughtful overall. Also I must say that as I look more through these comments I noticed that you are very active with your audience, replying to most of the comments, that's a good thing especially for small channels growing like yours, keep it up and stay close with your audience like this and I can see you more than doubling your subscribers in a matter of months

Clash Mini is undoubtedly a game brimming with potential and trust me, when people like myself say Clash Royale is in a horrible state right now, we truly mean it. Clash Royale is starting to slowly but surely be milked dry of what it's worth and only those with iron wallets shall remain. I'm glad you enjoyed the theory and I plan on staying active with my audience as long as possible, so long as my schedule allows me to do so and I can find the time, that is!

@@NaidvarRambles very well then, good luck with your channel, I'm pretty sure that as you improve with expericence, since you stand out compared to other supercell youtubers due to your more analytical, indpeth approach to your videos you will be able to become very successful. I suggest you start advertising more this quality of your channel as well, adding things such as "in depth analysis" to your thumbnails and titles, it should help you specialize yourself in a way that makes you unique among other supercell youtubers and helps attract more people to your videos. But that's just a suggestion, do with your channel however you want and keep up the good work 👍

@@first7120 thank you so much for your optimism and yes, as much as this is a controversial video (it has actually lost me some subscribers), i enjoy the fact that i'm able to have a more analytical approach on things; i've learned that people probably do not enjoy conspiracy theories or theories about clash mini and clash royale intertwining so i won't be talking about that again; i've got some big plans though so hopefully kind people such as yourself enjoy them once i'm able to put them together! - i will also take your advice moving forward, at least for analytical videos!

while i think it's fun to make a conspiracy theory about all of this. i highly doubt supercell of all companies will go down the route of milking their games. this is literally the same company that kept a base building game popular for 10 years with a steady source of income. and while it is true that supercell are investing more into the clash IP, i doubt that clash mini is the real focus here, i think it is the yet to be soft launched, clash heroes which by far took everyone's attention back when it was announced along with clash quest and mini. saying that supercell is putting more resources into x instead of y is also not something I'd except from them, for their global games at least. because we have known for a long time that every dev team at supercell works independently from one another and whenever a game gets a bad update, it is that teams fault and not the whole company and this was proven multiple times by the big difference in the approach of each dev team to their development philosophies. a game could be thriving while the other is in shambles. to simply put it, i don't believe for a second that supercell is going the EA/Ubisoft/Activision Blizzard/any big company ever, of trying to milk one of their big games, a giant in the mobile market to say the least, in favor of a new young game with much potential for failure or success. it just doesn't make sense for this specific company to do this especially that, contrary to what most CR players are saying, the game isn't beyond saving. the devs are just incompetent when it comes to listening to player feedback and monetization. they could've done a lot of other things to at least make another substantial way of making money like skins for cards which clash mini did already, or maybe add other customization methods like making one's side of the arena special with an art of some sorts or effects that are coming out of it. the possibilities with cr, while not quite endless, are still very big but the devs only gave us tower skins, banners and emotes. for a cosmetic to really be successful it needs to pop out and not in bad way. and so far, only emotes are doing that.

you'd be surprised what a lot of game companies are capable of becoming, e.a, blizzard, microsoft and ubisoft didn't develop their reputation out of thin air, it happened slowly over time; i do agree that this is a conspiracy theory more than anything else and yes, supercell are incredibly smart, but the future is something that can be extremely surprising as well as foreboding, i just hope supercell don't mistreat Clash Mini, they've been struggling to launch another game ever since the release of Brawl Stars and we all know that thanks to the cruel fate Clash Quest shares. overall, i love your points and its true, the game still has hope and now looking back on my three videos (and probably no more for a while, i've milked this topic enough and can admit that with confidence) that there's an end in sight; i honestly think they're just doing this before they're forced to remove chests and wanna squeeze out as much profit from their chests before they're forced to remove them as per pending international law requirements regarding lootboxes, of which clash royale's chests are technically classified as!

I doubt that supercell is killing clash royale in favour of clash mini, it seems way to far fetched it sounds like a bad super hero movie, supercell is a multi million dollar company, they have the resources to keep both games alive, Killing clash royale seems like a mistake

Fair enough, I can only hope it's not true but there is a case to be made regarding them wanting to segment two independent playerbases into their own games, one casual, one competitive; to ensure they make the most money, or to just advertise Clash Mini. I can only hope that Clash Royale has a swift recovery following all of this if this is the case, though, if not... I am sincerely worried. It's a theory like this that actually gives me some hope regarding Clash Royale and that this will only be a temporary thing, yet if this is not their intention then bigger troubles are on the horizon.

Im loving clash mini so far. Its a clash version of auto chess, i just really hope it doesn't become what clash royale has. Its already quite hard to kevek minis and expecially heroes

I think your latter point will be improved upon at some point but I like Clash Mini as well, it's a lot more promising than Clash Quest, although Clash Quest quite frankly was killed too early; at least in my personal opinion.

Clash mini isn't really a clash royale replacement. Clash mini is a pay2win game too so it's really not different. Clash mini isn't as good as Clash royale either.

Clash mini is almost not p2w at all you can easily max out an acount in a month and they removing the hero levels the only thing you can’t get at the moment is some skins and still you can get lots of cool skin as a f2p player.
