I am from Maryland I've been a ACC fan forever, they have always been a great basketball conference. But what happened about years ago was both conferences basketball and football right when the time around Florida State came in what is the beginning of the collapse and it wasn't for stage fault it was the fault of the people running the conference
No one else will admit its the conferences fault. The Big12 was created, remixed and brought back to life after losing Texas and Oklahoma. All of this happened while the basketball snobs acted like they were better than the football schools. Now they think Fsu/Clemson/Now UNC will sit around as the conference drowns!
The ACC can make some big waves if the schools just stick together. Clemson, FSU, and Miami have so much potential to headline the conference, and other programs like UNC, UVA, and Virginia Tech have potential to keep building or get back to their peaks
They are already behind. Look at the current payouts vs the b10 & SeC. On top of that the new CFP payouts proved there the big 2 and everyone else. It's get into the big 2 or die in irrelevence and be the a part of the new G7 competition.
It's about ALL about the payouts. You can't keep up with other schools without equal payouts. You can not.keep your coaches, you cannot keep up with recruiting without the big bucks. Nothing else matters. Fsu has done more with less for a very long time but you can not make up for close to 40 million a year.
They go to the Big 12, along with NC State and V Tech. Miami and UNC go to the SEC, Louisville goes to the B1G, the B1G also get Notre Dame, Texas Tech and TCU. Indiana goes from B1G to ACC
Why is it that every single school that’s ever left a conference can leave mid GOR and have no issue but all of a sudden the ACC claims they own Clemson until 2036 regardless? Some magic spell they have?
