Another note on Martin Luther: Remember, that whole movement he sparked was called the REFORMATION, not the DECONSTRUCTION. And that’s not just because the latter wasn’t in use at the time. It was because REFORMING something carries the express implication of restoring something to its original form. Deconstruction is all about replacing, not reforming.

@Psicólogo Miguel Cisneros First of all, who is mocking anything? My post was just as serious (and erudite) as yours. Secondly, I fully understand what is ACTUALLY happening to REAL people in these deconstructionist Churches and groups, and it is not studying architecture. You are the one who is really missing what is actually happening. I don’t know if you have also recognized this, but people misuse words all the time today. Read Alisa’s book and you can’t help but see that this movement is a coordinated, intentional, systematic attack on people’s faith, starting from the core foundations of scriptural authority and then ending up tearing the whole structure down. Ironically, Systematic Theology is what you are actually describing, which breaks down the whole of Christian Theology into components such as the Trinity, hamartiology, escatology, etc. If that were what these people were doing, no problem. Sign them up for Seminary. But it really isn’t.

"You see, words mean something. But many Christians today are so shaped by their culture that they actually undertake a few "midnight raids" of their own on the text of Scripture. Under the guise of "cultural context" they seek to disarm the reality of words...But no amount of pseudo-scholarly linguistic gymnastics can change it." -Stu Weber, Four Pillars of a Man's Heart. You guys are saying this in other words. I think you’re spot on 🎯.

I so deeply appreciate John Cooper’s bold voice of truth and his refusal to water down the seriousness of what’s happening. I agreed with everything he said and was so relieved to hear someone say it aloud. I was so sad and shocked (but not shocked) that the growing progressive world within the church attacked him so immediately without charity/understanding. John Cooper is how I discovered Alisa Childers who has now been such an incredible encouragement to my faith as well. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. I pray people will go to the Word above all else, ESPECIALLY during times of doubt and questions. I went through a faith crisis in the early 2000’s and it was the Word of God alone- and a few trusted teachers who pointed me to and guided me through Scripture- that saved my faith. I was shaken and needed reforming, but I never would have called it “deconstructing” at the time as no one was really calling that. But my crisis was in large part caused and exacerbated by the post modern movement in the church 😢.

MUCH NEEDED! Hope and clarity are only two of the many things that folks, on both sides, need in order to process this form of cultural/spiritual 'shock'. Please do share your research interviews via RU-vid. Much appreciated.

I agree and wanted to say the same. If anything Luther was attempting to strengthen his faith and having difficulties with Catholic doctrine. His whole purpose was reach a deeper understanding, not to reason his way OUT.

I just posted on the main page a different take. I think allowing the term “deconstruction” to be applied to Martin Luther in any sense is actually false, and is buying into the notion that deconstruction is equivalent to reformation. Remember, the label that has been placed on that whole period was not “deconstruction” but “reformation,” which is by far more accurate. REFORMATION carries the meaning of re-forming what had been lost or deformed. Deconstruction means destructively tearing something down. Martin Luther was the first FUNDAMENTALIST, if you want to use a label. He did not “deconstruct” Catholicism. He was trying to reform Catholicism and restore it back to Sola Scriptura. He wasn’t replacing the foundations of Catholicism. He was showing how Catholicism had moved away from its original foundations. This is a very, very, very different thing than what deconstructionists are doing today. After all, the very first thing all deconstructionists do is to get people to lose their trust in the reliability and accuracy and authority of Scripture. They attack the very foundation that Martin Luther wanted to restore. And so Martin Luther would probably be incensed to hear himself being referred to as a deconstructionist in any sense of the word.

Your comment about Peters Saturday was so encouraging. I have two grown kids in this stage. I have also pondered and journaled about “Thomas’s 8 days.” The time period when Jesus appeared to all the disciples and he was not there. What Thomas went through during that time. What was his thought process? How did he handle his doubts and maybe even jealousy. Jesus shows up when he happened to be out running errands?! Really?! What timing. I can relate to that. Jealousy kicks in. Then 8 days later Jesus showed himself to Thomas specifically. That has always given me hope as well. Thank you for this video and I’m definitely getting your book!

To the question regarding the Holy Spirit guiding us... I think the crux of the matter is the person’s genuine intent. Within the “deconstruction movement” you have those who want to believe what makes them feel good... and those who are honestly pursuing truth. On the surface, we can’t differentiate between the two... but the Holy Spirit can and does. The bottom line is that people will find whatever they are looking for. If they are looking for an echo chamber who will confirm their doubts... they will surely find it. However, if they are seeking truth... the Holy Spirit will guide them to Truth.

1:12:00 Job’s friends weren’t bad counselors because they were trying to “fix Job’s problem” but because they were blaming Job for all of Job’s suffering. Similarly, people going through deconstruction don’t need to feel attacked but to validate that they are asking good questions and yet that there are actual good answers to those questions and we can find the answers together. Probably too many Christians react in fear to other people’s hard questions because they themselves have never actually learned WHY they believe what they believe themselves. God is not intimidated at all by hard questions, but actually gifted us with reason to help equip us to be able to find the truth and sift truth from lies. But there also needs to be an honest searching that doesn’t ONLY listen to skeptical arguments without also seeking out well reasoned Christian responses to those same arguments.

Is it a sin to kill someone if they are evil and deny the existence of God?
@robertpreisser3547
@robertpreisser3547 2 года назад
@@paulallen7962 For whom? For human beings, or for God? A. For human beings: yes it would be a sin, IF we were to take that authority to kill evil people or unbelievers upon ourselves, without having been given a specific authority or direction to do so. First of all, because God did not empower individual human beings to judge other people and kill them specifically for being evil or for denying the existence of God. Part of the reason God did NOT grant such blanket authority is because people are NOT GOD. We are not Omniscient. We cannot see the future, see into the hearts of other people, etc. God can, but we cannot. And so while we may see a person as evil TODAY, and as unbelieving TODAY, we don’t know whether that person will remain evil or unbelieving their entire lives. Had the earliest Christians taken it upon themselves to kill Saul who was persecuting them out of his zeal and unbelief, then most of the New Testament would not have been written. And so because we can never be certain whether or not a person won’t eventually repent and be saved themselves, we cannot take it upon ourselves to kill anyone based on how they are right now, today. Now, God has established Governments who have been given authority by God to punish evil (e.g., 1 Peter 2:13-14: “Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.” And Romans 13:1-3 “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval….”) If a person is an authorized representative of a Government that has the death penalty, for example that they have established both as a deterrent to and a punishment for severe evil crimes, then that person would not be taking it on their own authority to kill the evil or unbelieving person, but would be exercising the Governmental power that God had established for that very purpose. B. For God, it would not be a sin. Unlike people, God has perfect foreknowledge, as well as full knowledge of the future consequences if an evil or unbelieving person is allowed to continue to live and continue to cause harm to God’s beloved children. And so God would know if a person who is evil NOW, unbelieving NOW, may continue to cause harm for a season, but eventually will repent and submit to God’s authority again. In that case, God may choose to spare that currently evil/unbelieving person for the greater good of saving that person for all eternity and having a relationship with the person as God had created them to have in the first place. EVERY soul is infinitely valuable to God (c.f. Luke 15:3-10). But God may also know that won’t ever happen, and the person will continue to cause harm to other people, including potentially turning many other people away God and from ever repenting and restoring their own relationship with God. In that case, God would be wholly Just to kill that person; either directly, or by ordering that person’s death in judgement. Because doing so will avoid hurt and ultimately save those other people who would then be able to enjoy the eternal intimate relationship with God that God had created them to experience as well, which that evil, unbelieving person would have robbed them from experiencing. However, even in those cases where God chooses to act directly or indirectly to end a person’s life, God never does that without providing the person ample opportunities to repent and be saved. God has consistently warned people to repent and be saved, or be judged instead and face destruction as a consequence of their evil choices and refusal to have a relationship with the only one who has the power to save and extend their life indefinitely. No human being has the power to extend their life by a single hour (Matthew 6:27 “And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?”) And so when people choose to cut themselves off from the only source of life itself, the inevitable consequence is death. And that is their choice. And God would be UN-Just to force someone to live forever in submission to Him and in community with God’s people against their will. Allowing a person’s decision to stand, despite the consequence that they will be cut off from life itself, is far more moral than either (a) forcing the person to obey God and love other people for an eternity against their will, (b) forcefully changing their mind making them no longer the same person at all (a form of destroying that person anyway), or (c) allowing those people to continue to hurt other people for a literal eternity by sustaining their life and yet still allowing them to live in community with other people in heaven. Thinking God is somehow obligated to allow everyone to live forever in heaven would be like a father being forced to allow a rapist and a murderer who has harmed his entire family to live in his house, be forced to feed the person, give the person shelter, etc., all the while knowing that person will continue to hurt the man’s entire family, solely because this person has nowhere else to go, and so not letting this person in would lead to the person’s death outside. No one would be obligated to knowingly take in a person who continually harms their family, even if that person has nowhere else to go and would die. However, if the person is willing to repent, and truly changes and so will not hurt the man’s family, and the father STILL refuses to allow the changed person in the house, all the while knowing that it would lead to the person’s death, that would be evil. Which is why God always offers people ample opportunity to repent before death and their final judgment. And so it still boils down to the person’s own free choice to continue to do evil acts or refuse to repent and submit to God’s authority.

My attempt at defining Deconstruction: De= prefix meaning opposite, Construction = the process of building an integrated structure. And so deconstruction is a PROCESS that is designed to tear down a complete, existing integrated structure of beliefs. This means it both (a) a process, and (b) teleologically (goal oriented) focused; specifically, the focus of the process is on tearing down an existing structure. The structure is a person’s current existing worldview that they have built up over their lifetime up to this point, and Deconstructionists are actively working to undo that entire worldview, systematically challenging every foundational belief that undergirds and supports the whole structure.

Also, the “safe space” that the deconstruction movement provides for those deconstructing is devoid of actual accountability. And that is why it “feels” so safe. The interesting thing about your story Alisa, is it sounds like you remained in a space/place/relationships where there was still legitimate accountability for you-even if not for your deconstructed pastor. You remained within the walls of the church and God’s greater grip on you than your grasp of Him exposed itself in your triumphant faith today. To God be the glory!

@@fundamentalescapepodcast8859 Yessir. Ive known the heartbreak 💔 of some close friends who’ve deconstructed out of Christianity. Each one hurt like hell. But what was always common between the stories is the emergence of a new morality; a new standard. Suddenly they were divorced from prior accountability to certain Scriptures and certain views about them and “freed” to embrace new and more subjective standards of authority. By accountability, I mean the sense of responsibility one has for fulfilling their duties and obligations in light of what they have received. As sure as faith is a community project, so is deconstruction. I watched my friends divorce themselves from their marriages, their churches, their children and their friendships. All these divine ties of human accountability were cast aside so that they could exchange a community centered on a biblical authority for one united around doubt. In their new community of no seemingly objective standards, suddenly my deconstructed friends were liberated from all authentic accountability. Each one was free to do was right in his own eyes without the threat of judgement from any other.

37:20 NO! Once you agree THAT “Luther deconstructed” while holding out on the difference being HOW he “deconstructed” you have lost the war. That cedes the battlefield to those who equate challenging a specific dogma with “deconstructing.” Luther NEVER DECONSTRUCTED. He challenged specific dogmas the Catholic Church was teaching, without systematically dismantling CHRISTIANITY ITSELF as a whole. Heck, Luther never intended to deconstruct CATHOLICISM. He only challenged the Biblical accuracy of certain teaching and practices that had crept into Catholicism over the years. Similarly, Jesus NEVER DECONSTRUCTED Judaism. He specifically said the opposite: that He was challenging the doctrines of men that were being taught as doctrines of God. He never contradicted a single Old Testament Scripture, and even went so far as to build on the scripture to add a focus on the motivations behind following the Scriptures. And so Jesus never “deconstructed” anything at all.

Someone asked why God allows these doubts at all. Along with what Alisa said -- I accepted Christ as a teen, about 10 yrs after my mom died, having subsequently endured 7 yrs of SA. I accepted Christ and felt the spiritual "high" of salvation until I hit the wall, about 3 months in. All of a sudden I knew NOT everyone goes to heaven and maybe my mom isn't "in a better place". I struggled. Three months into my walk with Christ I almost walked away. Why did God allow that doubt? I came out the other side with a conviction of the sovereignty of God (although I didn't know the term then) and a deep attachment to Job of all things! I've believed ever since that we can ask God anything -- shake our fists -- wonder & doubt; God won't be angry but He won't necessarily answer. Many years later, deep into working through my trauma, I found myself here again. Why did God allow this evil thing to happen to me? This time, 27 yrs into my walk, I can add my understanding of love, grace, and God's power to help me answer my questions. Loving and trusting God in some ways requires us to be comfortable with ambiguity -- some things we just won't know this side of heaven. But we know the Bible is true, God loves sinners enough to save us, and Christ is coming back. For me, when doubts arise, that's the very basics I stand on.

Could we have 3 different types of “deconstructionists”? 1. Christians legitimately striving to reform their doctrine, not debasing the authority of the word of God. (Shouldn’t be using the term deconstruction) 2. Those who are legitimately trying to burn down the foundations of the historic Christian faith (and are open about it) 3. Those who know they’ll never succeed unless they can capture the “historic” aspect of the Christian faith. The 3rd seems the most dangerous in the long run because they seek to deconstruct down to the foundation. Here we risk losing the light of the Reformation and having all the patriotic sources turned on their heads through deceptive and false scholarship.

Scriptures were changed through out centuries. It is not about deconstruction, it is about who we really are. And the evangelical mouvement can't lead us on this path. That's why when those embarassing questions come upon you, you can not expect to be understood by people who don't go through all your identity questions. Because in church we have been taught that there is only one way to believe, and one way to think. But you can't find the truth in a book. It is within and it is a path!

This is my best attempt to explain, but don’t take my word 100%. From what I understand, falling away is leaving the faith. Goodbye Christianity. I’m sure there are more complex forms of falling away, but it is at least no longer following biblical Christianity. Deconstruction on the other hand can go in many directions, but it basically means re-examining your faith in order to remove the unhealthy/unnecessary parts. For example, some people that are deconstructing are trying to get away from parts of Christianity that they believe are toxic.
@Daniel_Grgic

Deconstruction could be good or bad. It could be a refining and growing of your faith or it could be the complete dismantling and replacement of Christian faith. Once again, that’s just one man’s assessment of these terms.
@robertpreisser3547
@robertpreisser3547 2 года назад
@@Daniel_Grgic Not really. De = Opposite, and Constructing = a systematic process of building an integrated structure or system. Deconstructing is not falling away from the faith. It is an active process to tear down a person’s entire worldview that they have built up over their whole lifetime, systematically, and then likely to replace it with some new belief system. I disagree that Deconstruction (as it is being practiced by those who are most actively leading other people to “deconstruct” their faith) is only about stripping away toxic parts. And even then, there is a difference between searching one’s beliefs for false beliefs that are harming us that don’t align with Scripture, and deconstruction. Deconstruction actually tries to take actual Biblical doctrines that people feel are harmful and excising them from the Bible or Christianity itself. That is not at all the same thing. And so to answer Heather’s question, deconstruction is the active attempt by one person to cause another person to fall away or make shipwreck their faith.

Not to be crude, but attempt to casually use the word queer in a conversation. Also, age of the universe/anything in creation is not a contradiction to the Bible. If God can create a fully-grown Adam, then He can create anything else fully grown or at certain "apparent" ages. Come on, y'all. Believe it or don't. Same faith. You can't accuse them if you don't believe it either. I also just wanted to say that I think people avoid Christians during lots of hard times. About 55 minutes in when Jesus preaches the sermon on the mount, the thing that he starts with after the beatitudes is "don't think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets, I didn't come to destroy but to fulfill". You might have noticed that the word "bible" is not in the bible 😛and the thing about that is in Matthew 5:17 Jesus talks about "the law and the prophets, in Luke 16 "abraham" says to the rich man in hades "they have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them" and in Luke 24 we read about disciples on the Emmaus road that Jesus expounded to them from the law, the prophets and the psalms, the things concerning himself, and so these various expressions, the law and the prophets, the law, the prophets and the psalms, or Moses and the prophets, are all various ways that they would refer to what we would refer to as "the bible" because the law, prophets, psalms and wisdom writings are what the old testament consisted of at the time, and the New Testament was not yet canonized. So, all of that being considered, what Jesus was really doing was similar to what Martin Luther did centuries later, and we could argue that Jesus was himself a reformer in His time on earth, and that rather than "making it harder to obey God" He was actually showing that obedience was already and always a heart issue, and that mere outward compliance was never God's standard of righteousness

No, Jesus was NOT a deconstructionist at all. He definitely did not Deconstruct Judaism. He did not actually change or cancel a single doctrine from Scripture, but went out of His way to explicitly say the opposite: That He did not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets but to fulfill them. Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” However, even so, you seem to miss the point that Jesus was QUOTING THE OLD TESTAMENT there. And so it is clearly not deconstructing the Old Testament idea about sacrifice at all, but instead is clarifying what the Old Testament ALREADY SAID. Hosea 6:4-6 “What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? Your love is like a morning cloud, like the dew that goes early away. Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth, and my judgment goes forth as the light. For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.” In other words, Jesus was only saying what God through Hosea had already said: Sacrifices done to manipulate God instead of done with the right motives are not only ineffective, but actually angering to God. And this was not only in Hosea, but appears in Samuel as well: 1 Samuel 15:22-23 “And Samuel said, ’Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king.”

He changed the many laws about the Sabbath to "The Sabbath was made for man, not man made for the Sabbath." It's up to us through our connection with the Holy Spirit to keep all of life sacred not just the Sabbath. Laws don't do it for us. You will have to live your life forgiving everyone to understand that is better than the sacrifices you have been making to keep yourself holy. @@robertdouglas8895 //“To fulfill” does not mean to keep everything as it is. It means to complete it.// I sense some equivocation on terms happening here. First of all, what do you mean by “to complete” something? You seem to imply it means to bring something to an end, but that is also not what “to complete” even means in English. But the key is that the Gospels were written in Greek, and there is a very different word that would have been used if that was the intended meaning. The word in Greek is Pleroo, which is different from Teleo. Teleo is the word used multiple times in Revelation to discuss things that are being brought to an end. Pleroo means to fill up, maximize, bring to its maximum potential, etc. Teleo means to bring to its ultimate end. The actual word translated fulfill here is Pleroo and not Teleo, and so does not carry the connotation of something being brought to an end, but instead the connotation of Jesus bringing the Law to its maximum intended effectiveness. Which interpretation, by the way, is perfectly echoed throughout the book of Hebrews that is all about HOW Jesus brought the Law to its maximum effectiveness, accomplishing in His own sacrifice what the law itself could not accomplish. Jesus fulfilled the old testament sacrificial laws and priestly system because they were always intended to be a picture of what Jesus was going to accomplish Himself. They were visual metaphors of spiritual principles. The High Priest putting his hands on the head of a goat, enumerating the sins of the people, then letting the goat go into the wilderness was always meant to be a visual representation of what forgiveness looks like. But none of those pictures were capable of changing a person’s heart to no longer WANT to sin. Jesus being God incarnate who chose to humble Himself and die the most ignoble death to pay the penalty for our sins is such amazing kindness that absolutely leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4). But this is very different than what you are trying to argue. Jesus is the PERFECTION of the concept of High Priests. The PERFECT final sacrifice for sins. The Old Testament sacrificial system was a poor reflection and foreshadowing of what Jesus ultimately was going to accomplish for us. But Jesus did not ever eliminate or redefine sin or the need for a sacrifice for it. Rather the opposite: Jesus bore the very real penalty for very real sin Himself, and did so willingly to demonstrate His love for us (Romans 5:7). Similarly, Jesus never changed a single Scripture on the Sabbath. He challenged the man-made interpretations that the scribes and Pharisees had built up around their misunderstanding of the purpose of the Sabbath. But the Sabbath was always meant to BENEFIT mankind. To be a day of rest and restoration and focusing on God and not the cares of the world. The religious leaders had turned it into a list of rules on what people could not do, to the point of even getting mad at Jesus for saving people’s lives and healing on the Sabbath. Jesus simply corrected their misunderstanding of what was already in Scripture. And all of the Matthew 5 Jesus does the same thing. He doesn’t delete a single Commandment. He restores the heart of the exact same commandment. But before we discuss specific examples, have you read all of Matthew Chapter 5? What do you think of what Jesus said right before the verses you are referencing, in: Matthew 5:17-19 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” You really cannot say that Jesus is actually saying “Don’t worry about those old Commandments, I am ending them and giving you new ones.” These verses put that false idea to rest very quickly, because Jesus not only says the Law will remain until the end of time, but that whoever teaches people not to follow it will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. If your argument were true and Jesus was truly intending to “fulfill” the Ten Commandments by replacing them with new ones, then Jesus wouldn’t have said whoever teaches people not to follow the original laws would be called least in the kingdom. Now, to the specific “3” Commandments (really Jesus only directly addresses two), does Jesus actually say what you imply? You imply that Jesus was replacing the old Commandment with a new one, but can that really be true? Consider: Matthew 5:21-22 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.” Are you REALLY trying to argue that murder is now okay with God, as long as you don’t say “you fool” or insult them while killing them? Or that you think Jesus is saying is evil to murder out of anger, but killing someone in cold blood for revenge is okay, as long as you aren’t angry at the time? Of course not! That would be silly. Just as silly as trying to argue that Jesus is saying adultery is perfectly acceptable as long as you don’t look on that woman with lust in your heart. And so the claim that Jesus was “ending” the old Commandments and leaving new ones in their place just doesn’t really stand up when reading what Jesus actually said. It is more accurate to say Jesus was expanding on the heart of the old Commandments to include the motives of the heart in addition to the actual actions of murdering, committing adultery, etc. As to the whole rest of your comment, there are kernels of truth mixed in with some lies, but it is really hard to understand what you really mean. Are you saying that unforgiveness is the only cause of sickness, emotional upset, and a life of fearfulness? Or am I misunderstanding you, here?

No reformation, but rather creation. With ALL due respect to my protestant brothers and sisters, what this people are doing now, is not only the same but a logic continuation… Now in only 500 years, we have more than 40K churches who can only agree on hating the one church that gave them the Bible. We have atheism taking over, new age mascaraing as Christianity, secularism, critical race theory, s@t@ani rights… Cristians can’t even celebrate the Birth of Christ... 500 years ago, the authority and guidance where attacked, leaving only the Bible OPEN to personal interpretation… leading to 40K “tiny cuts” … now it’s time to take the personal interpretation to the next level and take away scripture… If you let them. Please consider coming back home. Jesus founded one church and promised He would ALWAYS be present in it. It’s ONE unified church, visible and tangible who has been here for 2000 years. There can not be a 1300 years gap with 40K variations right after. And please, I ask you from deep within my heart, please, please stop degrading the Mother of God. @@fundamentalescapepodcast8859 Goodness, how did you twist that idea from that comment? No person was called satan, but satan does exist as the lying ideas that oppose truth by orchestrating and conducting behind the scenes. He is the father of all lies, the deceiver, disguised as an angel of light who was thrown out of heaven for rebellion and will be dealt with once and for all in the lake of fire and then in the pit, where all lies belong. Don't serve him. Hurting and traumatised people don't need more lies to make them feel better, for the lies and half truths, that they may be led to believe, will blind them from the full truth so that they will fall, along with that eternal liar sneering behind their belief. The only cure is to see how the true Word of God was ignored, then beaten to a pulp and disfigured so as we could justify ourselves, believing the lie that we are masters whose purpose is only to please ourselves by both good or evil words and actions done in order to justify to ourselves and others that we don't need God's guidance. Then look and see God's Word hung out to die in the person of Jesus so as we think we are rid of the truth that condemns our wrong beliefs and actions. But guess what; even though we do our worst to Him, He is alive and we will be judged by the truth to see if our belief is true to God by our actions that show our faith. Grace is extended, through love, to all who will accept it and bow their knee in service and devotion. All that satan's lies will do is strengthen the true believer, by means of contrast, in the knowledge of God's truth, found in His revelation to us in the whole Bible, and not just the tiny parts that we can easily twist out of context. But God will win, for truth always trumps lies in the end. So the original comment is correct as we see the dangerous untrue intention that will use people trying to do what they think is right in their own eyes and not depending on the truth of God. We don't fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities and the powers of darkness in the spiritual realms. The original lie in God's perfect creation was: "truth is a lie", and so our communion with God and truth was ruptured. Now how can we tell which is lie and which is truth? Read the whole Bible continually, and humbly pray for the Holy Spirit to show where we are wrong and apply it to our lives and encourage us when we do right, admit our sin in preferring to listen to the lies of satan and to practice the wrong desires and actions those lies plant in our souls, then change our minds to try to follow, with the help of the Spirit, the whole truth that scripture exposes. Look at the case studies in scripture and the consequences in history for following or ignoring God's truth. Consider the full law and think how beautiful it would be if we were able to keep it. Look at the beauty of Jesus life which we can never achieve in this life. When this becomes our desire we see the need to change and it is painful, as most surgery is. The change will never be complete in this life, but look at the effects that our wrong beliefs have on our communion with the perfect Son of God in our lives and experiences. But perhaps this is not our desire, so God wont force us to comply, but we will then take the consequences. Think of the very first time we were aware that we did something wrong and how we tried to cover it up, deny it or hide. But when we submit to Him we hear Him comfort our shame and pain in the promises He makes to us in His Word. If we don't know the beauty and strength that this comfort brings then we need to examine our standing before Him. We must yield and submit to Him, for as we cross over into His care we see Him as our loving Heavenly Father and protector and not the Lion of Judah and terrifying judge protecting His children from the worst of disobedience. We change from being God's enemy to become His adopted child. We love Him as the Lamb and are in awe of Him as the Lion. Our hearts and minds are the battle ground where the war is fought for our souls, so make the right choice, for our eternal life or death is at stake. There is nothing new here, but if this core is deconstructed then we are in deep peril. Thank you for helping to affirm believers belief in the truth of God and His goodness and love for those who, in turn, endeavour to love and follow Him. I'm sorry that the tone of this seems harsh, but I have no love for the arch deceiver who trips me up often and seeks to destroy the lives of those who listen to him, but love must speak truth even if it hurts, because God looks for the broken contrite heart that sees the futility of satan and his cunning devices, for God can lift that soul out of the mire into God's true glory.

With all Due respect, but Martin Luther opened a can of worms that has sadly lead to this moral relativism, atheism and “my truth” culture that we currently live in. Everyone wants to interpret the Word of God at their own convenience, We have 85,000 “christian denominations “and growing, something is very wrong today. In the End Jesus will reunite His Herd and we will all be One, as He prayed on the Last Supper. Thanks for this video Jesus I trust in You

when the lgbtq says love over verses if they have said it they mean homosexuality which is a sin and abomination is more important to them than the BIBLE verses because the LORD JESUS CHRIST commands don't encourage hate they are not against love this includes his disciples' teachings, the LORD JESUS CHRIST said the only way to love HIM is to obey HIS commands which can be found in the BIBLE and if anyone doesn't obey the LORD JESUS CHRIST that means he or she doesn't love HIM

I like your podcasts very much Alisa. But I thought I heard you say you didn't want to use terms the world uses. But all I heard after that was the use of 'deconstruction'. Maybe there is something I missed. The terminology used previously was 'doubt'. Thomas doubted but was affirmed in his faith. When you use that word it sounds like you want to be 'modern' for lack of a better term. Tell people this is not the correct term. You are going through a period of doubt and that is ok. THERE IS HOPE! Praise God!
