well there is offense and defense so its more like 21 on the field at all time. I say top 10 cause just voting the best ever by position kinda screws some people. Like Brady and Montana are both top 10.

I agree 100% bruh But mostly because it's been watered down over the years. Maybe because of the HOF's success ... Too many people who have never played the game voting.. also a reporters biased view of a player that he didn't like can keep a player out... I guess what I'm saying is that it has become almost political

The NFL Hall of Fame is a money-maker. They have to have several players go in each year to keep it a big event. This is why they've started putting in "good" players instead of all-time greats. If it were only all-time greats, some years it would only be 1 or 2 players....which would not be good for business. It's all about the money.

If it is done it should not happen the year they are inducted. There should be a longer waiting period for that. It eliminates some of that recency bias. Maybe 15 years after induction, which would be 20 years after retirement for 1st ballot guys. If they are not still clearly a great after that time, they should not get elevated.

Every great museum has an exclusive wing or gallery showcasing it's most special and valuable treasures. The Louvre has the Denon Wing and the Musee d' Orsay in Paris has Upper Level "1". It makes so much sense that the pro football HOF should have the same. It's great for the game and for business. I like the idea that the hall of fame induction continues as it is now and the "upper room" is a furtherance of that process determined by a committee of halll of fame players. Prime is spot on with this idea of a "Legends" wing or upper level/ room. It would only add to the mystique and popularity of the NFL HOF. Also, Florio might be on to something to make it an exclusive TV event. Go NFL Films. Fans would love to see that process! Build it and they will come.

I can't believe Florio entertained the idea of not putting Peyton Manning in that upper room. The meaning of that room is about players who were different from the rest. I'm a bit young, but guys like Unitas, Jim Brown, Walter Payton, LT, Deion Sanders, Brady, Manning, Marino...they're mythical figures. The same cannot be said of Warren Sapp, Michael Irvin, and similar players. They're all HoF, but they didn't change the game. Yes! & another thing… if there’s a year where only 2 or 3 guys actually deserve to get in then so be it. Stop trying to fill up the event with guys who were just “good” or Players/GM’s that are 100 years old.. if it took 30 40 years to get in…. Then you probably aren’t a hall of famer

If they picked the ten greatest defenders regardless of position is Deion on the list? At DB is he over Woodson, Reed, Polamalu, and Lott? LB is Taylor and Lewis but does Bednarik, Brooks, Butkus, Lambert, Lanier, Nitschke, Simgletary, et al make it to the exclusive room?

Eli is not the best example of a borderline. For one, beating the GOAT twice, on two of the best playoff runs we've seen from a QB he's in. The 0.500 record is partially, but fair from all of his fault. Look how bad the team was from 2013-2019. Mismanagement by Reese and Gettleman, and awful coaching post Coughlin had a massive role in the awful Giants seasons for that half decade

He led the league in interceptions 3 times and tds 1 once. If they vote him in its only because of the two superbowls. Probably only one play which should have been called back for multiple holds

I had no idea the hall of fame had a quota. That's ridiculous because baseball doesn't have that and has years where no one gets in. So really what Deion is asking for is a "new" hall of fame that's the REAL one and everyone will, wink wink, know that the inner wing is the real hall. Every hall of fame has questionable inclusions and kicking people out is a controversial idea but at best just fix the current system. The quota is a problem so get rid of it and the hall will get less watered down as the years go by. Baseball had a controversy where Frankie Frisch essentially inducted all his friends. Some bad hall of famers got in but they didn't kick them out or create a new sub-hall within the hall. They just tried to make sure that situation wouldn't happen again (until Harold Baines' friends screwed that up).

Some ideas to change the Hall of Fame voting standards: Get rid of the local writers. Other than their home team‘s players and blockbuster or household names, they do not know a damn thing about other candidates. Does anyone really think that Tom Curran of NBC Sports England knows enough about Patrick Willis or Bobby Wagner on why they deserve HOF Status? Would Dave Burkett, the Lions beat writer, know why Patrick Peterson is HOFer? Let an algorithm determine those who get inducted. Then the Hall of Famer’s can have one vote outside of those who have been inducted and one vote should also go to the writers and fans each. Then the “Sr. Candidates” should just be automatically (but charitably) let in.
