This is so refreshing to listen to.🙏 My Ex did everything that was wrong in a marriage, I stayed for 20yrs. But when he abandoned us for 3 years, I filed for divorce. He’s been trying to come back, but I refused. I don’t see him changing his ways, he’s only coming back cause the grass turned out not to be greener out there. Besides, I cannot pinpoint one good thing that would make me consider him. He pretended to be a good church brother, but after marriage, I saw a different version of him. Also, I can’t throw away the peace that I currently enjoy for anything!🙄

I had similar experience, I was the second husband, she left, parked her things exactly the same way as narrated . It’s been five years now. She’s now married to the 3rd husband just few months ago, somewhere in Canada, it’s all over Facebook, she a gospel artist, born again, speaks in tongues but when she manifests in her abusive character ,the devil takes over her physical form. More men are out their who go through same from church girls , mostly those that have been married and remarried. Now I’ll push for divorce and move on with my life.Some times , the church don’t help matters. Thanks for this video, I’m helped and blessed.

@emmanuelchukwuemeka5831 usually there are always red flags which we ignore due to ignorance and lack of sound teachings like these Pastors give. The red flags are covered up or excused by the feelings, emotions and affections but they are always there. A lot of things we tolerate because we don't have the knowledge to see things as they actually are.

The place is called Hurdle Promenade in North Peckham Estate. I was in the University then. I know what he's been through. I think he knows me now if he's reading this. We need wisdom. Do your best to make your marriage work but it takes 2 people. Leave if the person is an abuser, a serial/unrepentant cheater. Also if the person doesn't want to stay you cant force them. Dont stay and let shame or people's opinions kill you. It's not ideal but life goes on after divorce.

The only thing I have to say here is, it's better to get to heaven and realized that the things you obeyed does not really matter than to get to hell only for you to realize that the commandments you looked than on are the reason why you are in hell. No father of faith is a complete standard ahead of Christ. Our salvation will not be judged by the standard of any Father of faith.

This is a delicate issue that requires a lot of wisdom to even make a comment at first. I believe you're a believer. Jesus never married and Paul the apostle of the gentiles equally live and encouraged being a celibate all his life to avoid some of this complications. However, he said if you can't hold yourself then you can get married with the absolute foundation of love and other things like respect, tolerance and co. Provided abuse is not the new standard in the marriage. Staying in an abusive marriage is not the best way to show that one is a Christian. Many takes the advantage of their spouse because they feel nothing will happen after all. Peace.

Controversial topic indeed, it takes a brave pastor to talk about it. The truth is that most marriages do not glorify God, kids aren't being raised to follow the paths of God, women are not loved sacrificially, men are not respected, and people are NOT equally yoked! Women are oppressed in the name of God hates divorce (we have to take steps back and ask what divorce is and where it starts to Him), God called us to live holy and peacefully, most importantly glorify Him in marriage. marriage today is turned into A MESS by pipo. Divorce is a situation that is not pallatable for anyone, especially believers. The initial intention of any couples, is live together till old age and death final separation. However, there are various reasons for a marriage breakdown, apart from adultery or abuse. If a spouse decides to leave a marriage, will the other spouse have to remain single for no fault of his/her? I don't think it makes any religious sense, for one to suffer for no fault of theirs. It's a tough situation, but let's depend on God's leading...it's tough 😢

The Bible talks about “ your own husband”…. That’s the phrase. Not all marriages are made in heaven, many are contracted in hell and mediated by Satan. Marrying for the wrong reasons can result in those things he listed. King Ahasueeus was married to a beautiful but proud Queen Vashti whom he put away and married Queen Esther. If you marry someone because you had a one- night or sinful sex and they got pregnant for you, that is a Sandy foundation and is not necessarily your “own” spouse which can cause resentment, abandonment etc. We have to understand the mind of Christ as shown by his word.

Forgiveness does not mean that you should remain with the person. you can forgive and still leave a cheating spouse. You just stop being bitter and hating them or trying to hurt them.

Could imagine God saying to us, “ forgiving you doesn’t mean I let you in my Heaven to live with me forever, I can forgive you and still send you to hell”. No He doesn’t. Forgiveness means treating others as though they didn’t hurt you. If you are still bitter after forgiving someone, ask God to uproot the bitterness and keep praying until it’s gone. Divorce doesn’t cure the bitterness, betrayal and the other negative emotions that arise from infidelity.

But you pastors have caused the death of lots of people by preaching against divorce and telling them to stay in abusive relationship that God hates divorce.. Pastors should pray for forgiveness for the lives lost under their teachings against divorce..

Great conversation thought I guess one issue to clarify is saying that divorce is not a sin and at the same time it is not god's will is unclear. I think a better way to phrase this is that divorce is not God's best but is something that we should not feel condemned about if they feel they need to take that action. That said, I love the point about leaving by the law of life in Christ Jesus.

Please sir, that’s not what led to “Omugwo,” may be you meant abuse of Omugwo. Omugwo is an ancient Igbo culture for postpartum care. Has a lot of medical benefits. As a matter of fact, this culture is now being inculcated into the American society, but it’s quite expensive. I know you meant well, and may not really understand since you’re from a different culture and background, just a little adjustment. Thanks for your insightful and liberating teaching that is shaking and breaking all religious tables, especially in Nigeria/African Christian homes
