Appreciate you sharing, was talking to a friend about this and she was concerned about complications. My brother did it in college with no issues. I may try a session to test it for everyone
I donating for about 7 years. Stopped last year because they changed their hours. $140/wk which equal to about $7K\year tax free. I did it through Grifols. In and out in 45 minutes to an hour. Stay hydrated, keep your protein up and eat well. I don't smoke or drink but if you do wait about 2 hours after you donate, and you'll be fine.
WOW I just looked that up you're right. Didn't know that that's a good amount of equivalent cardio. Good to know, I'd have to eat an extra meal basically to cover that
It was totally worth it for the first 4 visits where I went. ($100 per visit). Afterwards, it’s all about mindset, it went down to $40 a visit, BUT that’s basically free gas for the other gig apps
Is it an essential requirement to have social security to be able to donate plasma? Could I donate with my passport from my country? I do not have a Visa!
My wife was donating plasma. They actually have a bonus going on at the place she goes to. She makes like 100 bucks in a couple hours. So pretty good for just sitting on your phone watching movies. But she said they are fairly picky about diet and all that and she got turned away the other day because her protein levels were to low.
@@YourDriverMike Donating whole blood vs plasma is pretty much the same effects on me. I feel fatigue and drained. It's costly for a couple of days and then I recover.
I’ve tried to donate 3 times. All 3 times i had to stop well before finishing a session. Id get light headed, extremely nauseous, tunnel vision. My wife said I went completely pale the time she was donating next to me. I tried to keep pushing through. Each time I was able to donate a little longer. The last time I went was the farthest I made it in but when all those symptoms started happening there was no staff member near by and I almost completely lost consciousness before someone arrived. Had to call it at that point.
@@YourDriverMike they didn’t seem to know. When I asked them what could be causing it they just listed multiple reasons. Personally I didn’t feel anxious, not until I started having those symptoms but I can’t rule it out I suppose.
Plasma can be a good source of income especially if you can do it just to have money on the side. I been doing if for about 3yrs now and i'm a small guy. Everybody reacts differnt from it but it helps to have something before you donate. I was making 100 straight for about 3 months then 80 and now 60. I think it helps to get 1 referral in. Also i do it with CSL
I did this for over a year or so but then I started getting anxiety when I'd do it so I stopped. It became increasingly difficult for them to find my vein as well when I developed scar tissue too. It was easy money for a while and I'd just listen to podcasts and watch shows, but it wasn't worth it anymore. Found other things to do.
I tried donating plasma today at CSL and I didn't complete the process since my arm started bruising up. They had to stop the machine and disconnect me. I got close to $100 anyway. They told me to come back this coming Monday or Tuesday to attempt a second donation. You're a big, strong guy who can handle it. My sister and me are both two small women with somewhat too small veins. That was my first experience.
I cover all side hustles and gigs not just DoorDash! I know DoorDash is really popular but I never want to just focus on one gig/platform. Speaking of I have shifts/videos coming up on DeliverThat, Amazon Flex, DoorDash, Dlivrd and more

Americans get paid?? wtf jealous. This came up in my feed as I'm a regular donator in my country. I just do it for the free food and 2 hours off work! (And to help the medical industry).
Do your research. I’m told that if the facility doesn’t disinfect their machines properly, you may be giving yourself a blood infection from the previous patients
Theres documentaries about this business; they prey on the poor and give a false sense of "helping" others while churning profits. There is a darker side to this then whats on the surface.
Facts 💯 you donate blood for free and get a gift card or movie ticket and God forbid you need a blood transfusion or you get into an accident and you need blood they turn around and sell it to you for thousands of dollars. They give you pennies on the dollar for your blood and they make 1000% profit screw them!
I never understood why plasma donations get such a bad rap yet blood donations are a great public service. Both are withdrawing blood and helping patients, plasma donation takes longer but you make some money. I get if it's not for everyone though, last year this was one of my most popular videos so I wanted to give an update for those interested!
@@YourDriverMikeThe only thing I don't like about donating blood is if you're donating plasma as a side gig it can mess your money up. Once you donate blood they won't let you donate plasma for 16 weeks. They will know if you donated blood because your name is in the database. This keep people from damn near killing themselves trying to donate at two different centers or still trying to donate plasma right after giving blood
CSL told me my lungs sound too congested and BioLife said they have to check with my doctor and theirs. I have Type 2 diabetes and so I'm having trouble getting started. I haven't done my first donation yet.
When I did it in college in 1981 I would get $7 it maybe $8. I forgot. Good for a couple pitchers of beer which people like to drink immediately after giving plasma. It’s kind of obvious to do that. It’s why we go to college.
