Why? Dottore has always worked to save everyone. He is a greater good kind of person, he understands a price must be paid for everything, and he isn't one to exclude himself from that price, as we see from his destroying his own Segments to ensure the Tsaritsa's plans and his fellow Harbingers stay safe. He could have gambled with Nahida destroying the Electro Gnosis, if he truly was crazy or selfish he would have, but he didn't. He literally sacrificed himself to save everyone (in Snezhnaya, anyway) already. People simply misunderstand him.

Maybe I have to dive deeper into characters like him but he literally abused multiple people including Wanderer (though it was erased from existence due to Irminsal) and Collei. And the Harbingers are all devoted to the Tsaritsa. Maybe this is something on my part but TDLR: I don’t trust Dottore - keep him 100000 feet away from me at all time.
Hot take: Dottore actually cares about Teyvat, and wants human beings to be the best possible version of themselves. Unfortunately, he's doing that in absolutely insane and unethical ways. I believe he's extremely passionate about his goal, and truly thinks it's worth all of the suffering he caused.
I like to think that in his pursuit of trying to save everyone, he lost respect for humanity. He still clings onto his goal, but in his efforts he lost his original motive.

That's probably how they're gonna make him playable. One of Zandik notes states "...I have far too important a mission to accomplish to afford to start from scratch." I always wondered what that important mission was. Maybe he discovered how Irminsul determines everyone's fate and probably has seen the future it has determined for him which made him bitter towards gods and Celestia even more. He's always been one of the most interesting characters lore wise. People don't bother reading his lore and only treat him like a psychopath but his lore implies there's more to him. In Nahida's fairy tale, we see his monster figure looking at his reflection, he loathes his nature. We've seen many characters attempt going against Celestia for their people Deshret, Remus etc. but they all lost. I think Dottore is gonna succeed because it's for his selfish reasons, his selfishness is gonna save people in the end which is kinda poetic and funny at the same time. 😭😭He's gonna be the hero Teyvat needs but not the hero it deserves. 🤣🤣
That's interesting though I don't think that will make him playable per say I think since its been stated he clones himself and all of them have different thought processes and can think for themselves one of his clones that don't agree with the rest will try to work with the traveler and that clone will become the playable version or it could even be the original that disagrees with his clones
@@hamster6827 he already has playable model. He will be playable it's just matter of how. The game calls them "segments" not clones. Segments are snapshots of him from different ages. Omega destroyed rest of them for electro gnosis so it's only him left. We don't know if og dottore is still alive in living world since he lets omega do as he pleases. He might make more of course but Omega doesn't seem to be interested in that, he stated he was tired of their bickering.
Dottore wants to delete the memory of the Archons. As for the cryo archon, she’s just a tool the Fatui are using while she’s in a grieving state. She assumed that she’s helping all of Teyvat, while unbeknownst to her, she might actually be harming them. Assuming he can fine tune those flames, that is.
that would actually work for one observation i made after the Arlecchino animation video. We do not have any personal piece of the tsaritza right now? Like, they always talking about her, her orders and her plan for the world, but we never even got a letter written by her to her servants or a clue that is not second handed? I actually even thought if it's possible there is no Cryo Archon anymore and Pierro just covers that for his own plans, but Arlecchinos statement about the cryo archon and her relationship to her sounds more like they met in person, so she will be alive. just how much is really in her hands?...
This feels like burning the "old world" just like the Jester said. It's like rewriting everything, wiping everything from the "old world" to form the new world. My speculation at least. Also, burning the irminsul tree can mean that people of teyvat will be freed from the predetermined fate. It make sense since those who have been consider as a descender are always outlanders ( though the reason the abyss twin being part of teyvat is still unknown). The abyss twin is currently slave of fate. By which I mean, their goal to claim the throne and is heavily connected to the rules of heavenly principles/teyvat. Hence, they become part of teyvat. It's similar to how grafting works. Their fixation to the "loom of fate" caused them to be part of Irminsuls tree.

If you've been in forest or under the shade of big trees, the leaves covering the light looks like the very night sky. So yeah, it seems fitting, since the sky of teyvat is fake. yes, trees ! i toyed with the idea, that if anyone were to have created rukkadveta itd be the shade of life given, that should be their responsibility, and the shade did something similar with egeria. but it just does seem possible to say rn, and if it was the shade who made rukk, i found it odd we wouldnt have known by now
I think it’s as simple as arlecchino simply being able to decide what memories her flames gets rid of, maybe dottore experiments with them to make them powerful enough for the intention to destroy irminsul plausible

Dottore will definitely be important, he will save everyone. ❤ I don't think he will use Arlecchino's fire specifically, but likely something that based its blueprints on it and is a lot stronger, since Arlecchino's fire isn't that strong to begin with nor is she the only Harbinger who has special fire (Signora did too, and Arlecchino is only #4, even Nahida could beat her. There is a big gap between the 3rd and 4th seat in the Fatui, and Dottore is the 2nd. So, he clearly has a more prominent role. We also see HIM doing it, not her. But more importantly, if that's all that was required to destroy Irminsul, the Fatui would've done it ages ago. There must be something far more complex than that, after all, they are waging a war against the (false) divine order. It'll be interesting to see where Dottore's story goes, that much is certain. He is so complex and amazing, I love him. ❤❤❤ I can't wait for him to be playable, too. ❤
So here’s a thought. We might see that scene play out during the Natlan story quest. With Dottore burning down the world tree. Because the Natlan story is about reincarnation, would it make sense to say it’s the tree that’s getting reincarnated? Made this thought on another theory video and this one reminded me of it.

Willing to bet that quest won’t appear until the khaenrhia version. We’ll head through the door under the desert and under khaenrhia we’ll enter the abyss upside down and bam, there’s irminsul aflame. Queue quest. That or they fuckin forgot. Or it’s a Dainsleif quest. Or it’s part of a land expansion to Sumeru on its southern border
It’ll definitely be an interesting story quest when that does happen. Scaramouche will get his chance at revenge against Dottore, and Arlecchino will also get her chance to kill him too lol. Even more so since he destroyed all his other segments prior to this so he could full well die here (or he might have made a brand new segment by the time this occurred). I originally thought that Dottore destroying a specific memory in Irminsul wouldn’t make sense considering both Traveler and Scaramouche deleted specific memories in Irminsul without torching it, but after you mentioned the tidbit about the sky being fake, I could see this as a possibility. Maybe Dottore will burn certain parts of the tree away to reveal truths about the fake sky, or how the Heavenly Principles control fate. Though I do question what this will achieve in the long run, cause if Dottore succeeds, then wouldn’t all life be eradicated? Oh well, hopefully Traveler + Scaramouche + Arlecchino will be enough to take him down. Or not. Imagine he becomes a playable character lol. With Cyno’s second story quest coming up, I can see this event happening in the near future after 4.7. Or it’ll wait until the end of Natlan. And what is the Abyss Order gonna do in response to this? Will they remin hidden, safe as they are in the Abyss, or will they intervene, since they still need to finish the Loom of Fate operation, considering Irminsul also has some control over Fate (Nahida did mention how the Fontaine prophecy was etched into Irminsul so I doubt she could have done anything about it either)
well lets not forget now. dottore is number 2 for a reason. he may not look it but he should have the power of a god, and given hes long been obsessed with artificially enhancing humans to surpass the gods, lord knows what powers he gave himself. The abyys orders underground movements are so funny to me, im sure they will eventually reveal themselves. but they dont seem to affected by irminsul, given it was hinted at someone powerful from within the abyss, obfuscated the siblings fate in irminsul
@@D3A6 You're right. His model is very detailed and is attached to a weapon type, like every playable character so far. In comparison, Signora was labeled as monster, and wasn't as detailed. His chinese VA is also very famous in China. I'm just paranoid because the game can't stop stressing how little regard he has towards life, and as far as we've seen all the playable characters have to be >at least< in neutral terms with traveler. I just hope they don't ruin his character by giving him a half-assed redemption 🙄

I think you're misunderstanding what Arlecchino says about her flames. They do burn every memories, they're a reset button. That's why she does consider that "killing", because she's indeed killing this version of the individual that consumes the flame, that person will be gone, not just have gaps in their memory. She explicitly mentions memories of the House of the Hearth being deleted because of the context of this situation (she couldn't let them go with insider info on her organization) The idea of losing all your memories being a form of death is nothing new, it was explored with Aranaras.
the flames kill the version of the person that grew up in the house, but aside from their memories of the house, they are still the "same" person. so for instance the two who were executed, fancied operas, and later we find out lynette spotted them at a cafe discussing operas. the process arlecchino presents is not a complete cessation of self
@@DawitsLookingforEmilia Imo that's just because of the nebulous thing that is a "soul", the soul remains the same, but its memories are gone. A bit like the aranaras that get their memories wiped, they still have the same personality and manner of speak as pre-wipe, they just don't remember you. It would seem a bit too convenient to me that they could selectively chose what memories to remove, and also makes the idea of it being a "death" of the individual a bit farfetched. With how the process is described (it'll burn every fiber of your being, you could straight die etc) it doesn't seem like it's a very selective thing
im not sure lol. a total deletion of memories should wipes preferences away too, it seems weird to incorporate this idea of a soul into mix. Arlecchino herself states : "Once ingested, searing pain will spread across every inch of your body. No harm will come to you physically, but your memories will be burned away." "If you can withstand the pain... When you awake, you'll have forgotten everything you know about the House of the Hearth, and will be expelled from the organization." "Memory is a mysterious thing indeed. Losing a portion of your memories will alter your sense of self..." She says herself its just a portion of their memory being lost, the portion that contains all their knowledge of the HoH and Fatui. thats it

Yeah I've always wondered why the archon quest name for sumeru changed. I've just thought it was a last minute decision to change but yeah it could be another sumeru archon quest since the Fontaine archon quest has the same name as the one the prevail trailer so they definitely didn't forget about it.
Indeed humanity can't live under a single system but can they really govern themselves? Liyue's case was showcasing that but Natlan as a nation of war may prove difficult..
Add Mondstadt into the list of human nations governing themselves reasonably well. Overall, I'd say it is possible to remove training wheels from humanity. The big question is, will it be removal of training wheels, or will it turn everybody into hilichurls, with no Irminsul to maintain their full human-like minds?

I think whether irmunsul is binding people to fate or is a “bad” thing depends on if it’s native to Teyvat. It seems like the theme so far is outside manipulation is bad/dangerous. I think it’s not irmunsul but the ability to edit or “prune” that makes it dangerous.
I think it's bad for your fate cannot change how hard you try(even you try and evade something supernatural things happens and same fate happens in the end)you can't evade if this controll your fate it's best to destroy it.

Just one thing, he isn’t burning the irminsul. We saw the real irminsul in scaras quest, it looked very similar to the imaginary element symbol in hsr. What we see here is the irminsul in rhukkadevatas realm of consciousness, which looked awfully similar to the imaginary tree.

I imagine Dottore using her flames for this means he 100% used what he helped her make in the one thing she bothered collaborating with to use it for his own ends behind her back. Ends that are likely not good for anyone, even himself, but an experiment is an experiment and only childe is the one dumb enough to give the guy nothing but indorect compliments like "oh man what i would do to have a bunch of myself to fight." Then again childe sees the rooster's family visits as friendly and forgotten linkin park song scaradouche even says an actual child could connect the dots on implicit blackmail of the fuck around and find out variety.
I think the real problem of Childe is not he's dumb to believe them, he's maybe under influence of the Abyss. Like the melusine who see the Traveler like a monster who can devour the world. Maybe the Abyss distort his perception of good and evil but not completly for the moment.

If I were to theorize about Irumunsl, I’d put forth the overflow of knowledge. If Irmunsul was to house all the truths and knowledge of the world, wouldn’t destroying it cause the knowledge to be abruptly given to everyone? Consider it something similar to a water jug. The jug holds onto the water fine and pouring some of the water out won’t hurt (AKA deleting concepts from Irmunsul), but by puncturing a massive hole into it (burning Irmunsul down) it will cause the water to spill everywhere erratically, maybe even causing others to trip and fall. You could consider it to be a similar catastrophe to the Forbidden Knowledge case, no?
I think we’re forgetting is that the balemoon bloodfire can also leave reminents/memories of its victims (like Clervie). I’m not so sure if Arlecchino told Dottore that part (she is a diplomat after all). Burning Irminsul could very well create a terminent of *all* of Teyvat, one in the eyes of Arlecchino’s memories of Teyvat

Okay so I’m back again-I have a question, and correct me if I’m just being really dumb about this- so I’ve noticed that Teyvat is explicitly stated to be a continent in the lore, but the way Teyvat is showed and the light it’s shown in makes it seem like it’s the whole WORLD. So, which is it? I’m honestly really curious. IMO it would make more sense for Teyvat to be the world, just because of irminsul and the fact that no other continents are mentioned.
teyvat is the continent. but for the purposes of the people within it, its the entire world and they know nothing beyond it. the areas beyond the continent of teyvat are the "dark sea"

The project that they keep mentioning in arlechinno's quest might be for descending(ascending?) To the abyss, since the segment that was assigned on burning the tree couldn't fulfill his mission cause you know...dottore committed self destruct on all segments for the dendro gnosis, and the dottore we see burning the tree is actually the dottore in winter night lazzo but set in the future!
