I look at the long videos posted by TSN of various parts of its afternoon Eastern Time radio show (via Toronto's TSN1050) OverDrive. As those videos are super long, I watch so few of them as those videos likely also contain coverage of other sporting events.

Oilers gave their best....great season....but I think coach made mistake changing up Mcdavid line....and then overplayed the line at the end.

I think the mistake was putting the Nuge/McDavid/Hyman line back together after game 4. Going into that game I was screaming for them to break it up, they finally do it and McDavid gets 8 points in 2 games, and then they put the line back together against for Game 6 and 7 and McDavid has 0 points. That line is just missing something when it comes to tight checking games and super physical opponents. McDavid does best with someone who forechecks the defense super hard. Also why him and Draisatl don't really produce together unless its a powerplay. Just ask Jay Woodcroft...

This! I agree. You just dont put drai with mcdavid. That nuge-foegele-mcleod line was highly uneffective and were horrendous. It was easier to shut down both those guys together on a line

@@howinyee5962 Indeed. If they were going to roll two lines at the end which is normal late in the game, they should have rolled the McDavid line and the Henrique line. The Henrique line was the best line the whole series. Nuge is a great player, particularly two ways, but he doesn't produce much offense in the playoffs, particularly in tight checking games. He would have been better utilized as depth centre, PK, & PP. He might even produce more playing against the other team's bottom six. Nuge/McDavid/Hyman are just missing an element of pressure, particularly on the boards and forechecking where most of the game is played. If McDavid didn't carry it deep, it was just getting flipped back out.

I realize you need to make content but it’s already been reported. Frank Seravalli reported that the Oilers and Drai started contract discussions a couple weeks ago. He also said it will be a long term contract. Also reported that it’s over 90% chance both McDavid and Drai re-signing long term. But like I said you need to fill time and get other fan bases hopes up. Keep on keeping on 😊

He's got a good team finally, they need to get rid of penalty liabilities like Kane and Nurse, and get themselves a big tough guy who checks into the next decade, and continue thier defensive work with Coffey. They all got a pretty good taste, and now they're really to have a whole new season of progress. They really, really need a step up in being brutes though, especially against an overly aggressive team like Florida.

Hi guys, liked your discussion, in spite of all criticism you have got. There are so many close calls in play offs, whether you win or loose. There are hundred of variants and small things, how they go, that count. This series will be remembered pretty long. But life goes on. For Oilers it will be vital, that McDavid and also Drysaitl continues. But does there cap hit gives room to sign them, and at the same time strengthen the team? Connor is worth 20 million per season or more , in minimum. Teams in US can afford to pay him that.

Also people are going to remember the amazing comeback whether oilers won or not. Stanely cups won every year coming back 3 zip and tie it up you only see once every 80 years apparently. And yes if the players on the team stay they so return every year as hickey history shows. You dont see it much anymore because players leave, but still to this day when they stay they go just as far or further. You really mean to tell me the oilers team stays the same your not sure if there going to ve there next year? They will be in the semis minimum for sure.

Lock up your top guys, but your depth is going to be shallow with seventy percrnt tied up in three guys. Toronto is coming to grips with that now. I mean, the cap is gonna be skyrocketing in the next 5 years. The contracts won't be much different in terms of team cap% then they are right now. That being said, the one that scares me is Bouchard. He is in no way the skater/defensive defenceman to earn more than 8 million bucks, but thats just my opinion.

Mc David 42 playoff points, WOW, it's an incredible accomplishment (& yes it is). What happened to Draisaitl in the finals? How did all the high-end skill players do in the playoffs (other than McJesus)? Florida CHOSE less goal production & less flash and dash & stuck to a TEAM defensive composition with no individuals parading around. No superstar narrative bullshit. BUILT TO WIN. Drysaitl is overrated in my opinion. Without Micdavid he's about a 30 goal scorer. Put him on a team like Columbus or San Jose that didn't have 5 number 1 overall picks and he'd be average.

You forget the allure of money. No way he takes anything less than 11.5. that would be super low for a player like him. With 11.5 and McDavid probably getting close to 14 after that's 2 guys with close to 30% cap space. McDavid can make most average NHL players play like stars. Trade drai for assets while he's still young-ish
