I returned to Eso after years about 3 weeks ago. The first week I didn’t have eso and wasn’t bored but I wanted to do new trials and was tired of inventory space management. So, I took a chance and bought eso plus and I haven’t played another game since getting eso plus. Im so happy I came back to the game

Totally worth it. Mainly for (nope, not crafting bag) 1650 crowns. Simply, because 15$ flat crowns is only 1500. For me, i bought it to get Clockwork city for 1k (sale ccurrently). Craft bag is good, but not nescesary. So, for those, who are still thinking. When there is a bundle with DLCs, that you are interested in, on sale - buy ESO+. You will be able to get that bundle forever. Plus, you might finish some story in other locations. After ESO+ ends - you are free to continue DLC you have bought.

I buy the year sub for like $140 and also buy the 20k crown pack for 90$ when it's on sale for 40k+ crowns every year , Im a recovering alcoholic and compared to the money I used to waste this game is amazing value for entertainment. I love eso. I would probably be drinking still if I didn't have this game to unwind in. No bullshit mandatory grinds like WoW either just do whatever the heck you want and have fun. If you plan making this game your mmo home I highly recommend plus as a new player until you are familiar with the game and have maxed both your inventory slots and bank capacity . That way you won't be worrying about inventory all the time. It is absolutely possible to do without , but honestly it's gonna be a pain in the ass.

I tried ESO for a month and when I decided I was gonna play long term ESO+ was a must. Not for lack of content without the membership but for the craft bag. Having the craft bag has a big impact on inventory management

this was a year ago, but for anyone watching right now, ESO plus has said on the steam page that you will not get the Necrom dlc if you get eso plus, which came out June 5, 2023

I’ve never actually used ESO+ and I’ve played five or take since launch. However, when gold to crown trades became a thing, I spent a lot of gold trading for gifted DLCs and that’s how I’ve been able to get access to all of the DLCs

I decided to get ESO plus in December my bank management was getting hard to handle. It is worth the money. I bought a year up front and got a bunch of crowns.

The craft bag (in Fallout 76 it’s your Scrap Box) is my main attraction to going ESO Plus. So much time has to be spent on inventory maintenance that nearly all my gold goes to bank space. Having my bank space doubled and all the crafting stuff I’m forced to carry as I want to store item sets for future use just SUCKS. I know this is by design, and it turns the game into a job sometimes which turns me off. I like the game, I’m on Xbox so I’m already paying a monthly fee to play ESO and Fallout, so more money is a consideration, especially with my business still suffering from pandemic economy. Wait, I can make a Mule?

I got sick of inventory management, so i bought ESO+. Also now I can loot everything I see which makes the game a lot more enjoyable for me.

As a new player with ESO+, while its "optional", the crafting bag alone is absolutely game changing and I'd say almost essential if you actually want to play the game without standing at merchants for half your play time.

I’d say if you can afford it and you’re big into crafting, it’s well worth it. The crafting bag is really useful, included expansions and getting what you pay back in crowns that you can buy property with make it a no brainer for me.

I bought black wood and got eso plus I’m new and I have plenty of money to burn I started a day ago and I’m in for the long haul Because I played Skyrim and loved it people told me this similar but better So I’m going in guns blazing

During Sale periods the base game is is 4.99 GBP or 5.99 EURO or 6.99 USD. Add a month of ESO+ and you unlock access to almost the entire content, play it see if you like it, then decide. I personally love ESO+ and would not do without it at all. The craft bag is totally worth it alone as Adam said.

PSA for new players: ESO Plus does not automatically give you access to the expansions, just the dlcs.

I do housing, so plus isn't really optional for me haha. I need the double furnishing space and craft bag. Access to dlcs is a bonus, as I also like running dungeons and don't want to be limited. If I take a break from the game, I will cancel my plus membership for the time I'm away and renew it when I come back. I don't generally take breaks from eso anymore, it's been a pretty solid year of content and events and I'm looking forward to the reveal tomorrow.

ESO plus is (for me) a must have.. It's explained very simply: 1) you get the price for eso plus back for 90% in crowns that allow you to buy houses, furniture, cosmetics etc. 2) you get the craft bag, the BEST thing about eso plus and it's account wide! 3) ALL DLC (not the chapters) are INCLUDED in eso plus so you NEVER have to buy them. The more DLC you buy, the less eso plus price is "not worth it". 4) You get 10% gold, experience and craft leveling. It's isn't much in short term but it can shave off a few hours of leveling or grinding. 5) Double bank space. Your bank is ACCOUNT wide. So having more space to dump stuff for ALL your characters is nice. This could be companion gear sets, your own raiding, PVP and PVE sets, Your furniture, your consumables etc. and if you are someone that LOVES decorating your house in the finer details and really make it a cozy and homey place then you will LOVE the benefit for double furniture limit. without it your homes are empty and boring, especially the medium and big homes. All in all.. no matter which kind of player you are, ESO PLUS is always worth buying. Only people that do not craft/gather + do not do housing + do not buy things in the crown store + like to buy the DLC themselves will not need/want eso plus. It's that simple.. No other MMORPG does it like this. Giving you a big chunk of your money back (for subscription) in a currency you can then spend in their store.

All I can say that I wish I bought it sooner when I had lots of time. It's just an amazing MMORPG for me, hell it's the only MMORPG that I like.

I would only get eso plus to activate the companion from Blackwood and stack up on some crowns to buy dlc’s

I love eso plus!! I know it sucks paying but the benifits outweigh everything else for me.

I subbed on day 4 of my eso experience. It is a no-brainer if you play more than a few hours a month. The price that you pay monthly is earned with 1 to 2 hours of pay at the lowest of min wage jobs and saves you hours of inv management. Anything else and it's just a case of masochism or you are just sampling the game.

If i have 1 month ESO+ and want to subscribe on 3 months package to get crowns now, will i have to wait this month, or it will sum up?

I'm new to this game but I only want to use one charcter I don't really care for creating multiple charcters is that good or bad

Long term player from release on console. ESO plus at that time was a no from me. I prefer to buy the content and own it. Since I own everything, anything new I buy as well. I have calculated the cost and ESO plus is more expensive then owning for me since I already own them all. For a new player it would make perfect sense to get ESO plus if they could. I think from memory you still have to buy new story expansions even if you have ESO plus so no benefit there. Storage management is an issue for me but I have 5 Store Guilds and usually turn stuff over quickly by selling cheaply. I have max bank, bag and horse inventory. You can also add chests to housing for more storage and as you said mules. It does require constant monitoring.

How do you read the in game maps is there a way I can get a map legend?

Well, after watching this and reading up on whether ESO is even worth playing without +, I decided I will not play this game, I'd rather do a $200 one time payment than be forced to pay $15 a month to make the game bareable.

I bought the guild pack DLC for 4000 crowns and all the expansions - that was good enough for me. The craft bag is SUPER useful but not 13 bucks a month useful hehe. dumping most crafting stuff on my bank alt.

In short 100% yes if you play regularly. Just the extra storage alone is worth it.

I play on PS5, can I change my UI to look like yours or is that a PC only thing?

Online game developers are very greedy this days, you paid for the main game, still you need to pay for the DLCs plus the ESO+ which the devs limits players inventory space so that they will be forced to buy ESO+. Not to mention all the DLCs are very expensive 🥳🥳

And STWOR let you play till lvl 50 the max of the base game and of you want to go further and play the first extention you'll need to sub

I have ESO plus and sure you can play without it,but is much more enjoyable and easy with it. I see there are some comments complaining about monies involved,come on everything in the whole real world is dictated by money .It's not really that expensive ,in my country it's the equivalent of 2 good beers a month ,or two cheap meals from a well known fast food outlet. If you play for a reasonable amount of time ESO plus is worth it,and I think it's a great game and will be playing for a long long time ,!

As a new player i got ESO plus with in two days of starting the game. Don't see me playing the game with out ESO plus. Saving crowns to buy DLC as i go along

Of course eso plus is worth it, that is how we all keep the game running well until now :)

I think it’s dumb they lock the craft bag behind eso plus. As someone who is more than happy to pay for things when I need them, I’m against monthly fees. The craft bag is a major disadvantage for non plus members but something I’m more than happy to pay a one time fee for.

Imo you kinda need eso plus, I takes basically quality of life stuff and hides it behind a sub kinda like discord nitro. Another thing why does this game have so much dlc, like who does dungeon dlc that could have easily been apart of the latest explosion but no.

ESO is my only MMO. Obviously ESO+ is a no brainer. I can afford to pay for it since it's within my budget. People forget that developers need to get paid too. Proceeds from advertisements, sponsors, game sales, crown store and especially subscriptions go a long way for salaries and update/maintenance. Think about this whenever there are complains about poor game performances ; Money=upgrades. My opinion may seem offensive and unfeeling. But if people can't afford to play/pay for games then they need to find another hobby. One time purchase =/= unlimited entitlement. Long term enjoyment requires substantial investment.

Sure, the game is playable without Plus, but (imo) not if you wanna craft. The hazzle with mules etc - I don't think it's worth bothering with that at all. Also, the game will be terrible for those who loves dungeons and trials (raids), since you're locked out of almost all of them until you start buying DLCs. And those are not cheap. No, get Plus. If you've tried the game, liked it and wanna continue playing, I'd say it's a "must" to have it, and not optional at all.

I have spend hundreds if not thousands of euros on mmos over the years... But Eso+ and the crown store are the worst solution I have ever seen in a mmo. It feels like u are constantly pressured to buy eso+ (the inventory/loot balance is the worst I have ever experienced in any game. With each dlc new loot gets added, but no new inventory space. Lots of items do not craft, even though they are the same kind (for example different crafters), stacks are small considering the crafting-price for cp160 armor/weapons. Writs, treasure maps etc don t stack at all. I am pretty sure the publisher is doing this on purpose Crafting without eso+ will be hell. Even without crafting- constantly sorting loot is zero fun). Lots of people got a second or third account just for item-storage.... 90% of the people that pay for eso+ probably do it for the crafting-bag. So basicially to have a normal inventory/loot experience as in any other game... I mean... seriously ?^^ What is next ? Pay to change ur sound-settings ? The crown store-benefits are close to pay to win (research/riding-skill-updates take 3+ real months of daily logins and thousands of ingame-gold)- or just swipe ur credit card and get the same within seconds... (then there are also things like buying maxed out skills, free choice of races and with that pvp advantages etc). The in-game-store also offers loot-boxes- which, as far as I know, is against the european law since it is basicially gambling with all its problems Even when u buy DLCs u wont get full access to all the content in that area- funny, mhm ? the publisher didn t mention that... For example blackwood - houses. U like the big castle shown ? weeeell, pay up ! with real money ofc ! ;) - or those thief-guild-chests u will constantly see but can t open (so why show it to me in the first place ? it is just annoying to see the blue light, run there, and see that it was all for nothing)... it is like constantly getting the middle finger - after just paying the full (AAA) price for the game and dlc.Eso is not f2p, so yeah...every player already payed for the content As if that is not enough the crown store is waaay overpriced. The game is around 8 years old and they sell some ingame houses without any function for 100+ euros, some statue for 50 euros ?That is the same price as for full 2022 AAA games..... The game itself had/has great potential but I don t think it will ever reach it. It is a shame.... The current game-design/balancing is with a focus on pressuring the player to spend real money in the ingame-shop (for example: grinding skills, gathering skyshards etc with each character (unless-again- u swipe the credit card) Also: the whole in-game environment seems to be affected by publishers-squeezing for money. U will constantly see people offering or buying crowns in chat. It is not a great feeling I played several mmos/multiplayers-games over the years. Some with monthly subscription, others with in-game-stores. But none felt as bad as eso To me it seems like eso is dying and the publisher is trying to get the last drop out of it before dumping it. Compared to the years before there also seem to be alot less players online I give it 1-2 years till the base-game will turn free-2-play and the focus on the crown-store gets even worse I am playing eso atm out of boredom (waiting for ashes of creation etc) BUT I won t support the publisher with this. What happened to pay once, keep playing they advertised 2016 and later ? That is a behaviour I will not support. So no eso+ or any zenimax-games for me unless they change stuff and stop squeezing for money + fix problems (for example pvp, pc-UI etc). I would rather pay monthly/ or a few hundred euros for a lifetime-account for another mmo where the company doesn t squeeze and lets the player fully enjoy a game in peace (isn t that the point of games ? having fun ?) after he already payed for the game/dlc...

"But you don't have access to a ton of items, skills and areas" about Runescape But you just described ESO without plus. Don't kid yourself, ESO is heavily designed to force you to choose between pay for subscription or pay even more for every DLC. The base game you get when BUYING it is basically a demo.

If the craft bag wasn't a part of it I would never get ESO+. It's their way to rope you into a kind of worthless service if you play the game a lot

NO. ESO Plus IS NOT worth it. The games as a service model is NOT worth it. It costs around FIVE CENTS per player per month for running an online server, so a $20/YEAR subscription would earn them millions each year before the sale of DLC. And then, ofc, there's the money they get through DLC, whether via encouraging subscription or direct sale. The games as a service model is a disgusting idea, and the success of said model is the reason all the games released recently are broken, unfinished trash where the cash shop is the only proper functioning element in the whole game. "Who needs to make a good game when you can rush them into the cash shop?". The games as a product" model, which depends on unit sales has to be good or profits will suffer. Only subscribe as much as absolutely neccessary, for the crowns for the purchase of DLC.

ESO+ is scam. All the stuff should be in the game. ESO has a lot of pay2win mechanics and the most terrible monetization ever. For this reason i left the game. I dont want to support that greedy company.
