7 years ago, I also thought the same about China. But over the past 7 years, I've come to view China more positively that some of the western countries, including my own. I never understood what "ignorance breeds fear" really meant until I had changed my views on China. Our ignorance in the west of China, its history, its people, and its system of government, really does breed the most insidious forms of fear. And in this day and age, ignorance is a choice.

Actually I have proposed him to go UK but he say his 1st choice is to go there. Hopefully he can successfully applied and enrolled to Tsing hua after his IB exams this November.

There is always a big difference between a civilized society and an uncivilized society. The Chinese don't really care what the Western interpretation of civilized values are, as they have their own for the past thousands of years and are continually refining their lives accordingly. Nothing much different from the way Japanese, Koreans or most other East Asians countries want to live their lives and improving it from generation to generation.

The other problem is that their success for all, is a direct threat to the western supposed superiority of democratic corporate governing against their supposedly primitive communist socialist governing. It's not my fault. :) The people here speak quickly, have strong accents, use slang and colloquialisms, mostly have no experience talking to people other than those in their own geographical area, and leave out important words like verbs, pronouns. That habit of leaving out important words while adding unimportant words is an annoying part of the language here. Go read a newspaper article about, say, a bridge. It's 90% nonsense, flowering rubbish, and 10% important info. And the most important info will be missing completely. "The magnificent bridge, when complete, will bring harmony and grace to the skyline due to the efforts of the team who aims to acheive progress and blah blah blah..." Yeah, tell us when it will open. Tell us how long it is. Tell us what body of water it crosses!

Trust me,.I have been to 10 Cities and I am was Singaporean and now Indonesian. I just went to Fujian, Fuchow, MaWei to my ancestor home and just knew I am the 17th Generations from China. 2nd Generation in Singapore. Our Ancestors Alter is only 500 years old. Just double the history of USA. China need the space to slowly develop and U know be like the west where democracy matters when they go home at 9pm n me walking down Foochow City at midnight after landing and check in to my hotel. Healthcare, in US it is BS, we don't need to discuss, unless you are rich or have very good insurance, but it is really not easy. In Germany, it is cost-free, sounds very good. But to get an appointment for some medical inspection, it takes almost half year, unless you have private insurance. simply said, not convenient! In China you can get it very fast but pay quite affordable price. life expectancy of china can be checked by wiki and compared even higher than US and comparable to Germany Food standard can be improved, but also depending on to whom is compared. But today due to great inflation in US and Germany even middle class cannot afford to the bio food. It is not rare for them to eat the Sh** food.

“Most hated” is an overblown superlative! I live in the west and can attest that whilst the WMSM’s portrayal of China are overwhelmingly negative to outright slanderous, many of its people are not. However, the west only makes up 15% of the world’s population and hardly representative of the world. Outside this bubble, favourable views of China by the global south are overwhelmingly positive

Zero shopping is forbidden in our country and people don’t have to do that. There are still thieves and robbers but hardly to see. number two,anyone who commits a crime will be punished strictly.many Chinese aspire to be a soldier or a civil servant ,and if one have a criminal record, this person and his or her kids and grandchildren can hardly realize this wish. number three, the police can get there in the first place.it’s easy for us to call the police.their mission and faith are to serve the people. number four,the surveillance cameras can help catch criminals quickly,so we love this cameras.without them we also feel insecurity . my country still have a long way to progress,she will be safer,friendlier and more developed.❤ 有朋自远方，不亦说乎？how delightful I am to have friends from afar!

Although China is slowly returning to its glorious moment as a great power in history, China still positions itself as a developing country and still has a long way to go before becoming a truly developed country. But I believe that in a few years, China will become a developed country. To meet the standards of developed countries defined by China, at least China’s own standards of developed countries must be much higher than those of European and American countries!

There are so many surveillance cameras everywhere that it's so difficult to get away with any crimes without being identified, unless you have connections in the government. So most people won't try to break the laws.

Actually, this American was still young, and I am also young. Because China is improving step by step amid criticism, this change is very fast. If you ask an old man who often travels to China to make an evaluation, he will be even more shocked. The United States has obviously lost its important function of gradually improving, and can only watch China progress while it will always lag behind.
