All the stuff is dandy, but scrapbox is the most important. Just buying a month or madly farming during the free FO1st weekend gets you enough scrap to craft for a really long time. I still haven't spent all the resources since the last time FO1st was free. Survival tent? Useful, but when you've already bought 5 camp slots, you can just put camps to all the convenient locations at every region and enjoy free fast travel. Ammo box? Useful too, especially if you trade ammo, but if you know all the locations to farm lead, steel and acid, it's not that important. To sum it up, FO1st makes your life way easier, but you can live without it. Fortunately, Fallout 76 is not a game that severely cripples players with basic accounts.
@@nimrod275 They've done it a few times in the past. I forget exactly when the tend to do it, but they've done it at least once a year for the last several years.
Thanks for the video. I'm a FO76 "newbie" (though i've played 3, 4,NV multiple times), and have been switching my camps from my main one to my "mobile" one, but i like the idea of just popping down one on the fly. I think i'll try 1st out. p.s. - i don't know how you guys played 76 before Wastelanders, i would have gone nuts with no human NPC's.... I'm loving the game
Frankly, the game changes a lot with FO1st. Aside from getting the cheapest possible atoms monthly, you: - no longer have to keep a delicate balancing act of junk vs other stuff in your stash - can transfer items between characters (precariously) with Private Worlds, without the need for any mules - go on fewer mat farming runs - have a less prevalent fear of overloading on junk Looking back at my pre-FO1st days, it _definitely_ felt more like slumming it in the wasteland. If that's what you want out of Fallout 76, then 1st is probably an unwise decision.
Ya im gonna try fallout 1srt today for thr first time. But. . . I still wanna make a fallout character an completely live off the land. No personal camps being made, gear I get I either craft from what's in my sack or I pick it up along the way. The camp system in general while fun to play around with an will get you some caps from sales of various products an get you some free at9ms through achievements, still . . . Slow down overall gameplay imo in a way. Instead roaming around doing story quests or completing events your busy setting up camp, putting stuff up for sale, farming your garden or junk collector to craft an sale whatever, or your doing all the various activities to give you boost to stays in game. Just lots of time buster stuff that kills to much time imo. When I'd rather just be playing. Prior to fallout 4 fallout had no camp system in play.. An while I do enjoy it, it's not thr end all be all that is the corr of fallout by a long shot in terms of play style an how one should approach playing fallout in thr first place. Fallout has always been about being a survival game where you live an die off of what you find along the way. An imo when I do play a slug ( character who lives of the land) character in fallout 76, ill have alot more fun. Np micro managing any of thr bs stuff just straight up run an gun type play, an recover along the way. With some crated improvements were ya can of course. Any who have a great day.
I've never had fallout 1st except the free weekends but it's not too hard to manage since my wife plays and i use our alts as storage, all max level with carry weight reduction perks and each one holds specific stuff. One for Food, one for chems, one for ammo, one for scrap.
Just wished they would unlock Unlimited Storage for everyone when it comes to Junk and Ammo. Maybe even Storage box. Think they would have a large fan base wanting to play.
The way they money gated the inventory system is what made me quit the game years ago, and if it's still the same way I'll not be playing it again. I'm not paying 10 dollars a month to play the game how it's meant to be played.
Custom Worlds is amazing if you are limited on time during the week and you just want to crank out your Dailies super fast and easy (for the scoreboard). I have a world with God Mode, infinite weight and resource free crafting. There are so many days where I would have just skipped the dailies in regular that I can now know out in 10-15 minutes (less if I skip D-Ops).
I literally just started playing this for the first time. I missed that whole launch day debacle. Enjoying it so far. I bought the 1st sub and was wondering if I should continue keeping it. Thanks for the vid
For me the answer is a hard NO. Bethesda removed core features from the game so that they could sell them back to you at a high price. You could subscribe to a steaming service that contains lot's of content or you could pay Bethesda to give you access to features that should be a update to the base game. Here is a little life hack that I've discovered. Take advantage of free trials. Once the trial is over you cannot add anything to the stash box but you can still take things out. I've been playing the game for about a year. During the last year they have had two free trials of 1st. During those trials I have loaded up the stash box. The Atomic Shop is what keeps the server's running. Fallout 1st is just a rip off.
As a player who’s played sense the beginning I’ve never used fallout 1st, I’ve learned the importance of organization and saving space in my stash box for junk as well as knowing what I need and don’t need. Basically u learn how to prioritize your resources daily, for example (I always get at least 5k steel and 500 bone scrap and acid daily from queen thanks to my camp, instead of hording all that junk I I make 2/3 of all that junk into making cutting fluid/oil and use the rest of the junk to create others items like ammo.) u learn to use your vast resources/junk that take up much of your stashes space to create more items that take up less stash space immediately.
Agreed! I like having to manage my stuff accordingly. I recently just cleared out my stash box and I don’t really have any issue with storage as long as I keep it maintained.
If you play the game a lot, yes. If not and you only play when a new season comes out, get it, store everything and the cancel it. A couple changes I would do for it is to have every tent have a scrap bench. Doesn’t need to be a workbench, but a scrap bench would be optimal or let us scrap armor and weapons in the scrap box. The other change I would make would be an increase to your camp build limit and do remove the weight component to ammo in your vendor. Not for storage, but I want to sell all the ammo or give it away for free without it wrecking the weight limit. There is a lot that they could do with 1st that would increase it’s value without really altering the game and how it’s played. Add in QOL improvements. Let me see what plans/recipes that are in the loot pool that I am missing. I don’t know, just little in game extras that make life a bit better.
When I was playing almost everyday it was worth it. Now that I don't play that much plus I didn't really utilize the other worlds. I got bored with the atom shop and wasn't building too much because the limit kinda blows.
I'm planning on buying a months worth. When would be the most ideal day to buy it so I can reap all the benefits for current and future FO1st exclusive items?
Ammo box Nuka Tent was a fallout1st reward for Season 12. Don't know if you will be able to get it after season 12 ends. Want to say it was rank 47 or so. Still time for people to get it. :D
I'm responding before watching. It is worth it. The scrap box and ammo box alone is so clutch in the beginning when your grabbing everything and later when your scrapping for dailys. Def Worth I'm lvl 400. Your fallout videos are my favorite btw I always watch yours
Dunno if it's just me, or does the game feel very empty lately? Most lobbies are only half full at best, and I constantly get locked in the same few lobbies when trying to vendor hop aswell. Seems like there aren't enough people playing to fill up more servers.
There are a fair number of players, I am getting there myself after almost 14 months, that sort of take a break after finishing a scoreboard until the next one drops or events come up. We are a couple weeks past where you would have finished the scoreboard from logging in and doing most of the dailies/weeklies so you might be experiencing that lull. But mutated events come back at reset today so that could boost activity again.
Been playing since launch hands down Fallout1st worth every cent i remember the days where you had to watch how much scrap you had in stash.recently started new character and the difference between starting out post launch to starting with wasteland update and Fallout1st .light years difference 😊
Make sure you can complete the score in the duration of the month or I suggest buying it closer to the finish! That way you can be sure to get all rewards :). Just a suggestion, enjoy!
I do housing in every game I play so I think 1st is worth it just for all the cute C.A.M.P. items plus atoms to get whatever bundle you want per month.
Not worth paying 10-15 euros or dollars each month to get extra "progress" each season and other small rewards. The end game is grinding xp, completing boring daily and weekly missions that are boring to do like colect x amount of scrap or cook food. The end game is also pointless because theres like 3 end game bosses, most people just farm the Scorchbeast queen. The daily ops is ok but I gets repetitive even with modifiers. Also some modifiers are kinda unbalanced for low level- mid level plays, I remember playing daily ops at level 100 and a cricket with the armor piercing modifier almost one shoted me. Its possible to complete a full season without farming xp just by playing and completing weekly and some daily challenges (Im currently level 69 on the scoreboard as a non fallout first player and I didnt farm xp, just did quests, some events and used lunchboxes), the rewards are ok, armor and power armor skins for free are pretty cool, lunchboxes and gold bullions as rewards are decent too. The problem with the game is that theres alot of grind (for xp, scoreboard points, legendary perk levels and perk coins, gold bullion, plans like the calibrated shocks that cost 5000-6500 caps each, plans for workshop itens, some skins, legendary scrips, legendary cores, legendary modules. And the biggest grind is probably the stamps... one example: farming 800 stamps with a max of what 10-20 stamps a day? To get 1 power armor piece of the union power armor, yeah no thanks. I feel like if the game had more bosses there would be a reason to farm good legendary rolls with modules and to max out a caracter, the problem is theres like 3 end game bosses.
As someone who just started last month and got 1st for the first time...you don't get any where NEAR what you think from the shop. You get like one emote, one tent, like its not even close to what someone watching might think you get retroactively.
@@keithcraig506 Yes retroactively, as the video implies by stating how a 1st member gets "tons of stuff" You actually get virtually nothing as a new member from the atom shop specfically. Just whatever is currently offered to every 1st member plus a New Vegas outfit and obviously what's disscused here outside the atom shop.
Before watching my answer is yes, in small bursts. I don't need it all the time but for a month I can happily hoard enough scrap to keep me going. I don't need the other stuff although atoms are fun. The one thing is that that depending on where you are from the monthly cost isn't equal for everyone. Some folk say how it's like missing a coffee a month to get it, where I live it's about 10 coffees. Basically where you are will affect its value. I'll probably renew for another month but mainly to help my son boost his character because mine has what it needs to keep going. I admit I should use the survival tent more though. 🤣
So basically if i get fallout 1st for a year i can just load up on a bunch of stuff and ammo and be set for a while. My box is almost always full and it mostly do to random stuff i pick up i don't always want to brake thing down because i think its cool. Like the pre war lamp i got from Penelope's bunker. My friends and i play this game nearly everyday i unintentionally got them hooked when i said we should download it when it was free on playstation plus. Before that we were hooked on minecraft
i just start the game last weak. its worth time to manage bullet and junk a lot because stash also have weight limit too. its so frustrated to have to drop mini nuke, missile, cannonball away everytime weight hit a limit and i have to spend 10-20 min to clear my stash then you go for public event and back to manage stash for 10 min again and again. without it half or more of time i will have to stay at camp and manage stash and my backpack all the time. its save a lot of time and i really mean A LOT
I alternate accounts at the very end of the season for 1st and move my shelter to use as a survival tent. With mules you really don't need 1st but I get it once a season just for atoms and rewards.
I do like having a private server, every weekend or so I spend a afternoon capturing every Workshop on the map and letting them run the whole day. I sit at my desk and paint Wasteland Warfare Minis and write D&D and Fallout2d20 adventures for my RPG group.
I play without it and i suffer from scrap management a lot, but i will stand against it and the principle of having to pay a subscription in order to enjoy a full released game. If it was only for cosmetics, the private server, and maybe some of those camp items that provide some goods, i'd be ok with it, but having to pay to store my junk and ammo is shady af and i would feel really bad inside if i let them have it.
You get used to it. Everytime I log in I have the same routine. Crafting a lot of different items to use almost all my junk. chems, food, grenades, ammo and finally some bulks to get rid of some extra quantity I dont need. I sell most of it at a train station and the I sell the most valuable stuff in my vending machine. When Im finished I usually end up around 800 to 1000 in my stash and around 80 in my inventory. I do a bigger routine once in a while to get rid of some junk you cant craft into bulks. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that i dont have anything else to buy with caps except for guns and plans from player vendors. It would be nice to be able to spend all my caps on something like scripts or legendary modules.
do fallout 1st members get to add more to their camp budget? ive seen some insane camps. im out of space after just building something let alone decorating it
No they don't. Some items in your camp take up a lot of space such as mannequins and turrets. And they aren't really needed. Just throwing that out there if that's your case. I hope this helps :)
Have you checked your stored building materials when you are in building mode? I had alot of stored items in my camp and they hogged up alot of building material space.
@@garyisfat Displays are also camp budget heavy. Question: Have you seen those insane camp builds in game or in videos. If it's in game, I got nothing. If it's in videos, those were probably made on custom worlds because you can set your camp budget to unlimited in a custom world.
I’m so pissed at this 😅 everytime I TRY to buy 1st it tells me an error occurred . I tried everything too smh. Tried support. Tried switching cards. It just won’t work. Just the scrap box alone is worth it to me. I need it bad af!
So I just started playing Fallout 76 about a month ago now and I’m actually really enjoying it. So I have considered getting fallout 1st because I do play it pretty consistently. However I have one question about it. I know this is an older vid so hopefully someone answers lol but if I get 1st and say a month or two later I decide to cancel it. Do I still get to keep the stuff I get from it ? Or does it all go away ? I know you said like the ammo back stays, however what about camp building items or outfits and such?
@@MrWestTek cool! At the end of the day I just want the Ranger armor and Helmet lol everything else is kinda a bonus 😅 just wanted to make sure when I get bored of the game and cancel the subscription it wasn’t all for nothing.
Scrapbox is near useless since junk is everywhere. Ammobox is also useless since a few runs of Daily Ops will give you more than enough ammo, especially if you have the habit of looting ammo cans. I run an LMG, don't craft ammo, and have never had ammo issues. As for Survival Tent, you already have two camp slots, can capture Workshops and use those as your main camp while building your own poor man version of Survival Tent. You can also use the Expedition to fast travel to Whitespring Refuge while over-encumbered from anywhere. Paying for Fallout 1st is basically dumbing down the already easy gameplay. I would argue Fallout 1st might be worth it if you don't play much and really need the small conveniences or enjoy getting items from the Atomic Shop.
@@MrWestTek Pretty much all the ammo you put in the box is what you don't need. I feed all ammo I don't use into the convertor and convert them into fuel for my flamer or sell the fuel at 1 cap per unit.
They are released occassionaly, I read somewhere that the monthly Fallout 1st catch-up pack is on a rotation and coming up in the rotation pretty soon is the APC tent. They did a "rusted APC" tent maybe 8 or 9 months ago that was my first oppurtunity since playing to get a survival tent with a workbench.
At $100 a year if paid annually, that is $8.34 per month, similar to a Netflix or other service. Atoms, scrap box, ammo box, tent, Scoreboard bonuses and much more are fun perks and a great time saver if you are jumping in and out of events and don't want to do the inventory management. I've never used the other worlds as I'm an event junkie.
If it was $8.34/m we might have a case to buy it. But in Australia it's $23.95/m which is the same price as the absolute top tier of netflix and Amazon prime combined, OR the top tier of EA Play OR any two other streaming services combined OR two paid gForceNow accounts. It's an insane price to charge for digital content in a single game.
@@tjmarx Ouch! The $8 in the U.S is equivalent to a fast food meal of hamburger, fries and drink. The one factor to consider is paying for one year $100 up front.
if u buy it for a month will all the stuff u gained go away when ur not paying for the membership anymore f0or example the scrap box and the ammo storage?
@@darrenforde4933 good to know, I'm going to the private server & farm some acid & lead & a few work shops for plans. Being new to the game do I need plans for an extractor?
Me still sitting with 276,000lbs of stuff on my character from before fallout1st came out and we could bug the camp stash to be infinite... Definitely need to get this for at least one month 😂
The number of times i have had to switch off my ps5 why? Because not enough space to carry and store junk and ammo and unable to sell because reached the 1400 selling limit. Im gonna get fo1st tonight
Thanks for the explanation. As a new player, and I might have missed it, I was wondering what happens to the Scrapbox and ammo box if you just try out 1st for one month. Are they still available when you aren't subscribed? I'm assuming you can still get stuff from them but can no longer add new resources into them?
So wait if i subscribe to fallout1st and unlock the scrapbox, ammo box and survival tent those are free to keep forever or they are gone once the subscription expires?
I also think your survival tent is disabled while you are unsubscribed. But, yeah, load up your storage and you'll have access to it after your sub runs out.
I pay for fallout 1st because I got the game free (since upgraded to deluxe edition for the core recharger but keeping because I like the freebie store items and stashboxes).
That's not a bad idea. I think that there are 4 scoreboards each year. Only pay for 1st for 4 months of the year. You could probably go cheaper than that. If you signed up for 1st at the end of a scoreboard you could probably complete 2 scoreboards with one month of 1st.
Just putting it out there, but i noticed the only comments liked by the channel owner..is anyone that says FO76 1st is worth it, or says something positive about the subscription... that sways me to believe this is a recruitment video. Just an observation and thought process.
Nah it's much better u can change the difficulty and customize ur world. I've always play f3 n f4 with real bullet damage and survival. Not having this u are playing at the super easy difficulty
I justified getting 1st like this. I play every freaking day and paying for it, amounts to around 43 cents a day. The scrapbox and the survival tent alone is worth that.
Sucks for my friend who doesnt want to spend no money and he has no storage space and always over enccumbered he so annoyed he wants to quite the game. I kind prefer the scrap and ammo having no limit. Its a nice touch. Its only bad if you intend to exploit. But if your just chill mode and just playing. Its nice to have.
Nice overview. But what if is not working? Fallout 1st is not working in Fallout 76 ever since I bought it. How do you get Bethesda's attention to actually fix the problem? Put in an official help ticket on Dec. 2. Bethesda first responded with asking proofs of purchase, and then very brief responses of what it might be the issue, and then more asking for proof of purchase. Then Bethesda said it would escalate the issue, but have not heard from Bethesda since then. Anyone have any ideas on getting Bethesda to fix Fallout 1st?
It's worth it for me, but I have been playing Fallout 76 exclusively for the past 2 months. Years ago, when F76 first came out, I used to play many other games simultaneously; back then Fallout 1st wasn't worthwhile for me.
I can't go back. Just the ammo and scrapbox alone are worth it. And private adventure is my own private farm. I spend the days on public servers getting cores, scrip and modules, and nights farming materials in private world. For a die-hard Fallout fan, 1st is a must!
lol. you only mentioned a few of the benefits. there are also disadvantages.. but you did cover the basics..... one thing that should be noted.... it kinda sucks when you have all your ammo trapped in a box you can only access at your camp/tent..... or Nuka wolrd on tour.... if i had a cap for every time i had to travel to my base for a new ammo type and travel back (usually for caps i would not have spent) ... Bethesda would be able to persuade more players to pay for 1st if there was more ammo stashs throughout the game. One huge benefit to having fallout 1st is the additional scoreboard challenges... usually they are something super easy and one of my first challenges i do.... i know its possible to do the scoreboard without first.... but if you're talking about score boosts.... its worth mentioning the extra challenges you qualify for. Another nice thing about a 1st membership your dog is happier to see you, your wife loves you more and your kids start to respect you (/s).
All I gotta say if Fallout 76 is you're main game that u play religiously then Fallout 1st is for you. Like it is for me I did do the year subscription a few years ago and gathered enough stuff to hold me over for along time
I had the same problem buddy lol. Bring up your weapon wheel (usually up or down on the D-pad) and there should be a prompt at the bottom to deploy it. Hope this helps!
Worth depends on steam region. In Russia region, it costs 15 USD per month. Not worth it. Instead you can basically buy the game every month with new account for muling. BUT, in Argentina Region, Fo1st is around 1.40 USD per month. Worth it in any discussion.
Question is simple. If you stop using F1st, would you enjoy your gaming less? If answer is no, then you don't need F1st. I am so glad F76 is not a pay to win game, just have played for a year, I am 471 not hardcore player, enjoying it so much. The time F76 requires F1st to be played, maybe the time I am leaving. However, hoping this won't happen, I am so glad with the current F76 🙃
As a new player there is no reason to buy this IMO. Things i thought youd get were free ammo, repair kits, armour and plans. From what im seeing you dont get any of those unless you use the atoms you get to buy some of them.
A fair amount of atoms. Survival tent, ammo box, scrap box. Those alone arent just worth it ther almost essential. I dont think I could even play the game without 1st.
Is the survival tent still available? I have Fallout 1st now but cannot find it. Is there a way to still get it? Edit: Never mind, I eventually found it after checking a few videos on youtube. It is in fine print at the bottom of the quick access radial menu.
