I went to a doctor once and I asked why wasn't a herpes test included in the full std workup since you could have it, spread it and not even know it and you know what the nurse said, "because then everybody would be crazy." I was like what does that mean??? Does everyone have it???

Basically. Just imagine how many people have it but don’t know they have it and haven’t gotten tested because they didn’t recognize symptoms or had no symptoms at all .

So you're saying that no person, man or woman, should ever give their partner oral sex without a barrier because even if their partner doesn't have a visible lesion, you can still acquire the virus by giving unprotected oral sex? And the same thing with intercourse? - that everyone should *always* use condoms?
