Hi Everybody! We're doing something a little different today, I'm making a recipe by ‪@gordonramsay‬ ! This VEGAN BLT was quite good, but well, I think maybe it's a bit complicated!
Check here for my simplified Vegan Bacon Recipe:
www.theeburger...
Here's Gordon's original recipe too:
www.gordonrams...
My goal at THEE BURGER DUDE is to show vegans and non-vegans alike how easy it is to make delicious and decadent vegan meals. I used to eat a lot of meat and dairy before going vegan, so this channel is aimed at people like myself before going vegan. Additionally, I totally welcome any vegans who might be missing one of their favorite fast food or comfort food meals as well, come on in! I want to show that you can still have burgers, mac n' cheese, fried chick’n and any other kind of comfort food, and that it’s possible with plant-based ingredients.
If you’re new to veganism and don’t know where to start, or if you’re totally new to cooking, or new to both, then I hope you find something on this site that piques your interest and are inspired to cook! And if you have any questions please contact me!
If you are interested in recommendations for Kitchen Gear, Spices & Pantry Items, or what I use for my Photos and Videos, please check this link: www.amazon.com...

Awesome!!😎💥👏 For my vegan food trailer I'm sticking to bacon out the box to keep it easy, as is the lazy man's/smart man's way. Only gonna make fries and BBQ pulled jackfruit from 'scratch' to keep it easy. But when I do upgrade my bacon game, I will probably like this chewier version better! Perhaps using impossible beef instead of tofu would be better. Great Job Burger man! 🔥🔥🔥🤘👽

Honestly all of his recipes are a bit complicated. He overcomplicated grilled cheese for crying out loud- something my 6 year old sister can make. But he IS a Michelin star chef who is well accustomed to making things over the top by now. It's a good recipe but if you're looking for something quick and beginner level then Gordon isn't it.

@@stillthekid333 I guess I expected too much of you. The simple answer to your question is: they like the taste. _" If it ain't meat it won't taste like meat"_ This is just pure BS. @@Stubbari ok so... eat seasoned rocks if you want... I guess. But in reality you can't make rocks, or soy or even turkey taste like bacon. Regardless of what anyone might tell you. I would encourage people to explore those options rather than trying to transmute seaweed into a New York strip.

@@stillthekid333 Nobody is going to eat seasoned rocks. I have bacon seasoning in my kitchen. It's not made out of bacon and it makes things taste like bacon. My husband and I really enjoyed this recipe! I made it after watching Gordan and three youtubers make it. Gordan didn't keep his tofu strickly to the center and sealed on the edges like others seem to be doing. A little coming out the sides is not a problem. So, I reduced the sriracha to half and cayenne to maybe a 1/4 tsp, then added the tofu across the whole rice paper slice, topped with another slice, pressed firmly all over, and baked on a cooling rack placed over a sheet pan. I baked for about 20 minutes without flipping, and then went ahead and flipped them, pressing them once again, and baking for an additional 5 mins or so. They did crisp up even more as they cooled outside the oven. We liked it more than just plain rice paper bacon. The process went quickly and easily for me.

I still don't think Gordon Ramsay is a good cook. I think u, Babish, and many other youtube chefs are actually alot better... I mean alot better. Now part of a vegans desire is not just being able to eat something that tastes great, but to have something that's easy to make. I've seen actual vegan wings, and no not the lame cauliflower ones, those suck, and they look super good, BUT!!! They take forever to make... This is not what a vegan wants to hear, if it's too difficult or too much of a hassle, it's usually not worth it. I'm one of those guys that uses Mushrooms as the main meat substitute. I cannot and will not eat soy for a couple reasons, so mushrooms are my main go to as a meat sub.

I never have a problem making any mayonaise because I use a stick blender, starting with my base of choice (typically for me, soymilk or tofu and recently avacado - yum!), salt, lemon juice and whatever flavor I want at the time along with a pinch of guar gum or xanthan gum (I prefer the results of guar gum) and then adding a little nuetral tasting oil at a time in to the mix - I even stop the blender while adding the oil inbetween blending cycles and it still comes out perfect. Comes together super quick, too :) (I literally add a pinch of guar gum, but can use an 1/8 teaspoon if making a lot of mayo) The jar of guar gum has lasted me for over a year, so well worth it :)

Two tips on the aioli (or any mayo recipe actually, I make it with aquafaba and soybean oil): 1) stick the oil and the just egg for an hour in the fridge prior to making the recipe. The low temperature helps ir emulsify. 2) either up the quantity severely or try it with hand mixer in a tall cup. You need the protein liquid (be it just egg, aquafaba or plant milk) to keep spinning in a controllee way instead of going haywire, and you can't achieve that by blitzing a small amount of liquid. With a hand mixer and cold ingredients, it should take more than a couple minutes. Once you get the muscle memory, you don't even have to drizzle the oil if the ingredients are cold enough. Just blitz everything together at once if you know the proportions by heart.

i lovvvve rice paper bacon.. but it takes forever to make, i recently saw a hack where the person was wetting the whole sheet till its pliable then putting it on the cutting board and using a pizza cutter to make strips then dip in the seasoning.. game changer!!!

4:20 This is why I never make my own vegan mayo. Way too much work! And luckily there are some decent store-bought options these days!

Brilliant job! You're probably right about your rice paper bacon versus Gordon Ramsay's. But either way they all look great! #cooknwithplants

I love the flavor of the vegan bacon I make without it being spicy hot! Even non vegans don't eat spicy hot bacon. Thanks for sharing but I might try this without the hot.

I wonder if you did the double freeze and thaw method for the tofu then followed the Ramsay recipe? The bacon looked really good using those straws!!

Saucestache made this as well. It’s like making mayonnaise has to be a very very slow pour
