My G, Elvis was broadcast across the entire planet earth on this day. This had never been done before by any artist in the history of the world. Eyes were glued to this man. Aloha From Hawaii!
This performance contains three songs which commemorate the American Civil War. The first is Dixieland which is the song that the Confederate Army marched with, the second song is the Battle Hymn of the Republic which is the one used by the Union Army to march into battle with, and the third one is an old slave lullaby from Jamaica which the American slaves also sung and it ends with the repetition of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. This performance was done at the Aloha from Hawaii Concert which was broadcasted by satellite worldwide.
That suit weighs 89 lbs. also I’ll look at it this way, if it made you sad, changed your mood, look at the depth of Elvis. You didn’t even know what he was singing about, but it made you sad. Touched you. That is how powerful Elvis was in presence, vocals, performance, and how he really felt the songs. He had said he never sings songs he doesn’t believe or feel in.
…Phenomenal!! … Elvis has everything a singer needs: GOOD LOOKS, GOOD MANNERS, HUMOR, SEXY, a stunning VOICE... and above all an incredible CHARISMA!! ... He is still unsurpassed today and a singer for eternity!! ✨💎✨🕺🏻🕯 Thank you
The Elvis - Aloha From Hawaii was the first satellite show ever performed. I remember watching it with my dad when I was about thirteen years old. To this day…it is the most viewed performance on television in history with close to a BILLION viewers!
1973 Aloha concert from Hawaii was the first concert ever broadcast via satellite around the world to an audience of over 1.6 billion viewers from 42 countries. The concert had to be broadcast in Hawaii to reach the largest audience. Remember, this is 1973 and we had only been in space for about 15 or so years and didn't have the technology that we have now. This concert was a huge deal and Elvis wanted to make it perfect, so he didn't joke around during serious songs. It goes to show his versatility in Rock and Roll, R &B, Country and Gospel. Elvis was born in 1935 so he in his 20's when he did Jail House Rock and 38 here. P.S. Elvis was careful in his renunciation of words and even at his worst, when his health was failing, ust a few weeks before his death @ 42 in 1977, his voice never faltered. There has never been anyone like Elvis. Many have tried to be like him, many have impersonated him, but no one can ever be like him. There is a reason he is called The King of R. & R.
Elvis was sweating... Between the hot lights, his jump suit weighted 70 pounds and this was a full concert .This was the first time in history that a concert or anything else was being done by satellite...Views by 1.5 billion views plus the audience in front of him...
How tall are you ….oh btw there’s no demographics separating Elvis fandom…it’s literally 3 - 100. Seriously there are Elvis contests with ages 3 and up.
Elvis is a Priceless Gift from God , and if you take the hood off and opened your heart, you can hear The Love and dedication to his music , He sang every genre of music and YES,He did it his way , no other artist has ever touched the whole world the way he does and Will continue to due, The point is Elvis is the Total Package and he always mixed up his concerts with all music , that is a phenomenal performer who has that talent and makes you feel the song and the message of the song , All music doesn't have to be Fast paced or rap , He sang it all , so just wanted to let you know that Elvis is and Will continue to live on through the end of the world , No one Stands a Chance, other than Elvis. TCB 1935
It's okay to get old, the alternative is not the best. Elvis moved people with his music because he felt his music. He loved his fans. ⚡🔥 Thanks for your reaction. Keep diving into his catalogue.
It's not a sad song, it's a 'trilogy,' ie. medley of 3 different songs and no, Elvis isn't crying, he's sweating. The outfit he was wearing was heavy plus camera flashing plus it being taped = a whole lot of heat. This should cheer you back up: ru-vid.comFCTFNJcio2k
The show was aired in over 40 countries, and was seen by 1.5 billion viewers. It's still today the most watched entertainment show. Try -Mean woman blues , full scene if possible. Thanks.
Elvis outfit that night in Hawaii was called the Red White & Blue American Eagle. See Red & Blue eagle across his chest on that white outfit. Its the first outfit I ever saw him in. I was 16 years old. I saw that outfit in 2022 while touring Graceland again but the suit was at his museum which features his automobiles & all his costumes. Once I got to the costumes, I made a beeline to that suit got a picture of me standing right by it. A momento Ill treasure for ever! An Elvis fan, then, now & forever.
Please react to Elvis.... King of Kindness and short version of Elvis..A Generous Heart and if ya want to check out a long documentary 200 Cadillac Stranger In My Own Hometown X-rated Blues Version Without Love
The magic of Elvis is he can have you running through the emotions of life. That's the art of a great entertainer! Never cut a video short. Finish it to it completion
Elvis jumpsuits weight over 60 pounds and the lights were real hot right on him. In the interview before the Madison Square concert he was asked if anything changed in his life and he jokingly answered ( I sweat more) He was not afraid to poke fun at himself. While he sang dripping in sweat he didn’t try to dry his face. Check out the performances from the beginning in 1956.
The original cape he were Went all the way to the ground and weighed 75 lbs. He did not like that one. The shirt one was then designed and was better for him and the show
Elvis is the Greatest Voice and Entertainer with so much passion and soul that oozes from him , he actually put his career on the line by performing this Beautiful song at the time of so much hate and judgement , he never sang this song again after the 68 in comeback special, it was written especially for Elvis , he was born in Tupelo Ms , a shotgun house, no electricity or running water , it's now a shrine and then he and his family moved to Memphis and he was living in the project's called Lauderdale Courts, Elvis was t Dreamer , and he always told his mama that One day I'm going to buy you a big house and a pink Cadillac , That was a promise that came true , he is from rags to riches and he never stopped dreaming or searching, His home is Graceland,a National Museum in Memphis TN and it is the second most visited home in the USA only behind the white house , Over 600.000 people from around the World visit Graceland And he never toured outside the country to, except for a few times in Canada , Elvis is still the Greatest selling artist of😅 all time, He has more fan clubs than any artist as of today ,in the current video I', you want try😮
Yep it's iconic, a song everyone loves. This young lad didn't understand the words. They were clear to anybody but I think he doesn't understand what Dixie Land is and the relation to the civil war. In the US, they make Elvis a caricature, somebody who just dances funny and wears weird outfits. It's really cruel. When Elvis was this young lads age, he was doing live outdoor concerts for charity .. he won't have seen any.
My favorite televised Elvis concert the aloha from Hawaii via satellite. Elvis was the first to do a world wide concert he looked amazing lost weight for this concert. This was his comeback after not performing for a few years this was in 1972 great reaction ❤
Elvis was the first mega super star and he had the most awesome stage presence of any entertainer or singer ever! He always had the bling on and was the most humble person ever! Just genuine Mississippi burn Southern Gentleman with a generous heart!!! He adored his fans and gave them 110% every song!! No AC in coliseum back then, not like today!
Also I subbed to your channel. I wish you so much success. I’m 60 and have lived a lot , raised in the south Bronx till I was 10, moved to Flushing in 74 ect. It was tough hoods. No weakness could be shown. Now that I am older, it takes more courage and strength to “feel” because you have to be tough to stand up for what you “feel” and at the same time be tough enough to show a superior strength that shows you are not to be messed with and overcome. Feel sad, and deal with it. You are young. No one ever told me shit. Anyone can deal with happiness. Your character, strength, blessings and growth will not come in happiness, it will come in those difficult times, sad times, ect. How you face it, in how you control anger, think in solutions and find a positive side and Use it to inspire, not hate, will be what will set you apart from so many who cannot overcome. Please, think about it. You are young, I can sense you are a good soul. I really like your authenticity. Think about that when your alone with yourself. And be REALLY strong in yourself. There are no poor people, only poor minds. Much love kid. Keep up the good work.
Elvis was a true patriot and history buff. He made history, he was beaned by satellite to over 100 countries.,1.5 million people watched this live performance. You can see the outfit had our flag colors and an American eagle. This is a combination of three songs to honor an important historic Civil war. He honored the North, the south and the slaves. Check it out. Elvis was more mature at this time. His audience had aged too. His voice was strong and he sang more ballads that were mostly romantic and some with heartache. When you get older you will understand. Enjoy your life.
I'm guessing you're referring to the laughing on Are You Lonesome Tonight? If so, it was rumor about what happened & the explanation is out there about what happened, as per Charlie Hodge's book.
My daughter loves Elvis (and Lainey Wilson lol) she's 5. I love Elvis, I'm 40. My mum loves Elvis, she's 70. My grandmother, rest her soul, loved Elvis. That is 4 generations of women in one family, bro. He was like that.
Yes I agree with you I've never had a problem with clarity and I'm hearing impaired although I'm guessing he simply doesn't understand it because he's young and is not really familiar with this trilogy
Maybe you like him singing on a rehearsal ( stranger in the crowd 1970) or seeing people dance Rock and Roll ( What'd i Say ( longer version ) from the movie Viva Las Vegas. Thank you again for posting so much Elvis! You are looking good, but the inside is much more important to me.☀️💚
He was perspiring not crying the lights and the heavy jumpsuits made him perspire badly. This song is beautiful he put his soul into it. Elvis was my friend for many many yrs. it is not a sad song geezzz
His jumpsuit (GI) is made out of cotton and it's hot in Hawaii, then you have all those spotlights and he is moving around a lot, so he is sweating a lot... The world had 3,7 Billion people at this time and close to 1.5 Billion saw this LIVE by satellite!!
His stage costumes ranged in weight from 35 to 45 lbs. HEAVY. That is one of the reasons, besides the lights shining on him, why he sweat so profusely. Can you believe he danced while wearing these? He was the greatest and always will be the greatest forever.
Hey, I’m 58 years old. This is the first time I saw Elvis live back in 1973 and I was god smack. I was in all I was watching my TV and my mother loved Elvis. My dad hate him because he was jealous but I love it I was like oh my god that’s God that is motherfucking God, so yeah, friggin amazing man that concert was out of bounds for real
There was a mirror to Elvis' right, so what you were seeing from that camera angle was the crowd in front of him and the background singers are shown at the top. The shows' producer thought the mirror made everything look bigger and had a nice effect.
Awwwwwwe, You are such a Sweetheart. I literally wanted to give you a hug when you said how sad this made you. You're right though, music can be very powerful with how it effects us~
He had so many lights on him.. this was a world wide concert.. first ever.. he wasn't crying.. he was sweating his ass off in that blinged out suit.. first ever King of Bling.
Watch the 68 Come back special. He shows a lot of humor and some serious.(After he had made movies 10 years.) He didn't know if people would still like it. It is still my favorite concert.
Are you kidding. His speech is very clear, you don’t even sound like you are trying to listen. You may be too young to appreciate what it takes to do what you are attempting to do.
Yes thats just it he needs to go back to his elders who grew up with this type of Beautiful music 🎶 I also heard him say in his previous reviews he didn't like Bridge over troubled Waters so yes he needs to be educated in this way
You should react to American trilogy In Greensboro 1972, By Elvis Presley l, the 1972 version is way much better than this one in my opinion, and u can hear him much better, And he does goof around during that song too, its a must watch
@twanomusicreactions: This is serious and sad because it's about the American Civil War and slavery, which tore our country apart. He's combining three different songs -- the unofficial anthem of the slave-owning South (DIXIE), a Northern anti-slavery anthem (THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC) and a mysterious black spiritual (ALL MY TRIALS). The idea of the song (which was put together by Mickey Newbury) is the war between the North and South, and the toll that the war took on both sides. So we hear from the white South, the white North, and the enslaved African-Americans they were fighting over. If you watch again, you'll see that his male white singers sing on "Dixie," while his black female singers sing on "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." If you're interested in learning the lyrics to understand the whole thing better, Google the titles DIXIE (aka I Wish I Was in Dixie's Land and I Wish I Were In Dixie), THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC and ALL MY TRIALS. #twanomusicreactions
Not all songs are upbeat rock songs. Some are ballads like American Trilogy and What Now My Love sang with emotion to make the listener feel the song and affect their emotions. A good performer, like Elvis, will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. Right after this song was Big Hunk O Love, which was an upbeat song. You only seem to have appreciation for upbeat rock songs, which is really a shame.
Jailhouse rock was in 1957 this was January 1973. The first televised concert via satellite to reach live around the world and watched by more people than the NASA moon landing.
I am so sorry you missed the beauty and the message of this music. This is an American Trilogy including the battle hymns of the Union and the Confederacy and a lullaby sung by slaves. It has great emotional depth in telling a significant part of the American story.
Watched by satellite all at once by 1.5 billion people some songs are serious civil war was damn serious freedom was at stake. This war pulled families apart and if we aren’t careful another civil war or world war can happen. Vote your conscience for the person that can defend country freedom etc. you are young I’m on my way out peace unity freedom for all. God Bless you
Honey; the suit he had on weighed 35lbs. being in Hawaii on that stage with those high beam lights for two hours you'd be perspiring too! By the way this song was dedicated to the American past war torn north against the south. Sorry bro but it wasn't a happy time. But Elvis sang it banger dude!
