Twano, it was normal for Elvis. He was the biggest superstar in the world and all the ladies and girls went crazy for Elvis. The ladies all wanted a kiss from him, in every concert up until he died in 1977. He loved his fans and they loved him. He was a kind hearted man, and treated his fans with respect, unlike so many of today's big stars. As you can see in the audience, the husbands and boyfriends didn't have a problem with that because Elvis was the 1st singer to appeal to both women and men. Elvis is ELVIS! Never anyone to match up to him since. This is a public venue, and everyone getting kissed, wanted to be kissed. No pressure from Elvis at all.
Thank you for this reaction. I will get my kiss when I get to heaven. I always thought Elvis had so much power to pull this off. He was on of a kind from a third generation Elvis fan thank you for keeping Elvis alive
Elvis loved his fans and the fans loved/love Elvis. Elvis kisses were always a thank you for his female fans, a handshake for his male fans, because they made him big. Elvis never forget where he came from and always gave back everything that he had. The indicated kiss for the man with the glasses was a spontanous idea from Elvis. The man was so surprised that he didn´t realize what happend. He even didn´t laugh of it, maybe a little later. Elvis was so funny.
The fans in the audience were either adults or children accompanied by their parents. The Vegas shows took place at the International Hotel. At that time, the weeknight attendees were mostly middle-class folks who would attend the shows & gamble afterwards. His manager, Colonel Parker tried setting it up for teens to be able to attend the shows on the weekends and it pretty much led to mass hysteria. Female Elvis fans were absolutely thrilled to get a kiss from Elvis; and, their hubbies & boyfriends didn't really mind. Notice that the longer Elvis was on the stage floor, the more women lined up to try to get a kiss. "Women all loved Elvis and men all wanted to be Elvis." Elvis was joking around with the guy; he didn't kiss him.
The girls rushed the stage so Elvis would kiss them. They wanted to be kissed. Elvis was the only entertainer that was so close to his fans. The men wanted to be Elvis, imitating hair style and clothes.
This was the performance for this song. He always kissed the ladies during this song. Also, you said that it looks like some of the men wanted a kiss. They probably secretly did. 😂 But it's a known fact that all the women wanted Elvis and all the men wanted to be Elvis.
It was a peck he wasn’t full on snogging them. Elvis knew how much his fans loved him and always showed his fans how much he loved and appreciated them back. The people that kissed him would have carried that with them for the rest of their lives. He knew that and always wanted to give more to his fans than he took from them. A kiss is not necessarily a sexual thing but an expression of love such as parents children grandparents friends. There was nothing sinister or untoward with any of this. He summed it up when he got back on stage and as he sang I’ll be yours through all the years he extended his arm to the crowd to express that. Elvis felt he belonged to his fans he knew they had made him what he was and he loved them as much as they love him
Are you and the other guy on this channel twins? You look alike. Did you know Elvis was a twin. But his brother was stillborn. So sad. I got a kiss from him at 10 different shows. The best memories I have of being 21!! He was a sweetheart.❤❤❤
Kissing was not such a serious thing back before Covid, and terrible flus, Many male artists gave their fans a kiss, it was like a souvenir of the concert. This concert was in the largest Vegas Snowroom at the time. 2000 seat capacity. Actually Tom Jones started the kissing in his shows and many many women wanted to be kissed by TJ, Englebert Humperdink was another singer who kissed fans, IT was just a different era with different ideas on what is normal. When we had private parties it was not out of place for good friends to kiss when they come to the party and have a 5 second hug. It was just good manners. Husbands did not mind ELvis kissing their wives or dates, They were mature enoght to see that it gave the girls a lifelong story to tell others,
The women would carry handkerchiefs in their purses so they could give it to Elvis to wipe his sweat and then they would get that handkerchief back to say they had Elvis' sweat.
The blonde girl who went up to Elvis was too young and that is why he refused to kiss her. Also, Elvis had mentioned at an interview that he would leave Hollywood, as soon as, he could and return to his home in Memphis because he found that he did not like being around such an environment. He wanted to be among his family and trusted friends.
I watch a lot of reaction videos about Elvis, but never laughed like i did at yours with that man puckering up to get a kiss Never noticed it before. Love, love love your reactions
I lived in Vegas for over 45 years and my dad worked at two places where Elvis appeared, the International and the Sahara hotels and he met him and got his autograph. He always said Elvis was a really nice person and a gentleman. Back in the day i could've gone to one of his shows but i wasn't interested. I was a Beatles fan. But now I'm obsessed with him lol.
Nothing Elvis did could be duplicated today, lol I was 17 when Elvis passed away but if I had been in that audience I would have done my best to get a kiss, lmao
You are the first person in my decades of following Elvis who has offered that opinion - 99% of folk think there is no comparison and the 1973 version is one of the absolute high spots of his whole filmed career. - takes all sorts I guess.
@@gorse9030 i know, but I just love the moves he does in the 1972 version and I like how he Don't use that hallelujah with that high note, I like it when it's smooth,
The men didn’t mind Elvis kissing their women, they knew they were witnessing something special. I think I would have had a heart attack if Elvis kissed me. Hello from Australia. 🇦🇺💕
Females used to try to tear his shirts and other parts of his clothes off. He said if his fans tore his shirt off it was okay because it was the fans that put it there.
Btw, what he wore in '68 was a black leather jacket & slacks. It wasn't a full bodied jumpsuit. Wow, you win the prize for most stops of a video ever. You once said it was for copyright reasons but the way you're handling it isn't necessary to that extreme. It seems more as if you like to talk & not for copyright issues.
There are over 500 books aboug him.. maybe read some good ones snd youll know just how famous he was. Hey do reaction to 2022 Elvis blockbuster movie . Youll get a crash course on this man and get more subscribers to boot!
It was a different time back then. I'm not sure about others but Tom Jones would do this too. No No the guy was Not trying to kiss Elvis. Elvis was just messing. He just put his hand up to shake Elvis's hand. No way under the sun would I kiss Elvis. Yes I would go up to meet him that's it.
As anyone can see.. Elvis is walking the stage and kissing the Ladies.. and when Elvis saw the guy standing there.. Elvis Jokingly leaned down towards the guy... like he wasn't gonna kiss him.. like he kissed the girls. It was Elvis joking around !! The guy wasn't gonna kiss Elvis and Elvis wasn't gonna kiss him. You read too much into a joke. Elvis shook his hand.. and said "hello ". This was a kinder gentle world .. when people weren't out to sue Elvis.. because he kissed them.
So this is the ultimate love song that Elvis was so famous for and this was a gimmick for this Song, like poking fun of his own fame. This was expected and planned. A bonus thrown into his concert 😅 But he didn't do this at every concert....
Hey kid be careful not to get in trouble with an homophobic comment of 'nasty" .. not picking at you just a heads up. Nah not dangerous, he had his Memphis Mafia, bodyguards at the club and was a black belt in Karate.. when 4 men jumped on stage once to attack him .. he didn't see at first but his mafia did .. they got 3 of them but one got to Elvis .. he karate kicked him straight off the stage. He is an icon as well known as ever. Even young kids. Do you know Shonrah the reactor? He never has a shirt on lol
so what....OMG homophobic are you? SMH Yes...MEN loved Elvis too...he was beautiful and anyone and everyone whom ever met or saw him IRL were always taken aback by how handsome he was. Watch on youtube.
He didn't kiss the man. He was joking. And nobody would sue Elvis. They were hoping they would get a kiss. Grow up and learn about Elvis, or stop talking crazy!!! You are not funny.
