Thank you so much for this video! I start the IB next week, and this was the most comprehensive video on the IB that I have seen on RU-vid! 💕

Hi I recently finished my first year of IB Diploma and I just wantd to say that the IB Diploma can vary a lot from school to school as, for example, not all schools offer the same courses (SL or HL) or options. Similarly, some schools offer IB certificate others don't. IB certificate means you can take an IB course without having to be in the program, you get an IB certificate at the end of the course. So keep that in mind. I think teachers also make a big difference. As of now I've decided to drop out of IB Diploma. I'm only dropping IB math (SL) though, so I'll still take the rest of the IB courses I took this year but I don't regret having done IB in gr.11. And I'm very thankful that I can do that in my school. Also, I don't think she said this in the video but IB is NOT 4 years NECESSARILY. If you go to a school that offers a Pre-IB program then it is a 4 year commitment, but the IB program itself is the last 2 years of high school. Just briefly I would say that the IB program can differ a lot from school to school, education system and state/province. But if you're able to take an IB course that interests you I would say go for it. Hope this helps someone! Btw, Looking back before I started IB, I DID NOT KNOW WHAT I WAS GETTING MYSELF INTO and I wonder if I would have still gone into it if I had watched these types of videos but it's okay like I said I don't regret it

my biggest tip is to take classes that you are genuinely interested in like for example I am someone who is really into like psychology and philosophy I took HL literature psychology and visual arts and all three was easier than AI SL math which is considered to be one of the easiest ib classes because I was interested in what I was learning and it didn't feel like I was wasting all of my time on something that will only matter in the next 2 years of my life and I think that flexibility to take classes that you are interested in almost makes up for the workload also one huge misconception about ib is that the material and the classes are harder than they really are when in reality the biggest challenge is the amount of self studying you will have to do for your essays papers and ofc EE also know as my worse nightmare and even the summer brake gets consumed by it
