I've just recently (yesterday) come across your debates at SPEAKERS 🔊 CORNER 🇬🇧, and can I just say, You're a young LION 🦁 for Our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏 May God protect you, May God minister through you to bring these Muslims to HIM. They find you very intimidating for two reasons, YOU'RE AND EX MUSLIM, AND YOU'RE KNOWLEDGE SURPASSES theirs. Much love from Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦 GLORY TO GOD THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT 🙏 AMEN 🙏
Hello brother. I was a Protestant most of my life. Icons were an issue for me, but Sam Shamoun helped me have confidence in the idea of Eastern Orthodox faith. I've since hunbled myself and attend a Serbian Orthodox church. I was planning to read Saint John kf Damascus apologetics on Icons, but im happy you touched on the subject. I don't want to have the wrong understanding anymore. Btw, found you from your talk with Sneako. Awesome brother.
Jews visit the tomb of David and pray in front of it. Today,Jews, who are very monotheists pray in front of the Lament Wall, leave their prayers and pleads to God written in paper between the gaps of the Wall and they are not idolatras.
Hello brother. I’m a new follower but have watched you for a few months and I just want you to know that I admire the way you debate and defend our faith. You’re very intelligent and the way you use rules of logic to defend God is awesome to see. Well done bro!!!
Not even a catechumen yet but I’ve been attending a Orthodox Church for few months, great to see others my age in the nation doing and speaking so well, God bless you brother, seeing you speak at speakers corner had enlightened me greatly unto knowledge of Christ
@@LeutherGreengager-ip1uw well i don't wanna break commandment by mentioning His name in vain that's why i used the word 'Hashem' which means 'The Name' In Hebrew. In our state when people speak about Him during conversation they called Him by 'Nokgipa' which means 'Owner' or 'Owner of Everything' in our language. Ofcourse we used His real name during Worship, Prayer, Casting out demon..etc but we must obey the commandments.
@@LeutherGreengager-ip1uwI am a Protestant but i was grew up in a family where half of my family were Catholic and i goes to every Church. Even i wanted to go to Orthodox Church but there is no Orthodox Church here hope to meet Orthodox Bishop in future and talk to them about building a Church in our place.
@@raksofficial1810 Jai to that, dost. I'm a Cretan Greek and I love the Mar Thoma Liturgy. I'm Orthodox and I believe I may have Tamil ancestry by way of Egypt
Is there more scriptural evidence? Especially in the NT. I really like orthodoxy and I am considering it but this icon veneration is troublesome. Also the Mary thing.
Based man, God bless you brother I'm a catholic i used to be orthodox, but came to the truth. I saw your video of sneako and wow lmao he ran, but behind close doors he chats all day. May the lord bless you brother.
God bless u brother🙏🏼💯 This is why I always tell everyone to look out for @AnandaApologetics at Speakers Corner. Bc even as a Muslim man, he tried his hardest to be unbiased. So I saw not only did u want truth, but u wanted the fullness of the truth, to know the absolute truth to defend your faith. Thats when Ananda probably saw he couldn't defend Islam anymore bc it was illogical, & he saw all the fallacies. This is the problem with a lot of Protestants, they can't see all the fallacies they commit, & can't see how they put themselves in a corner when they debate muslims, bc of biased views. Protestants will always run to the church fathers, when it comes to defend the Trinity. To show all the Muslims, Mormons, Jw's, & all unitarians, & modalists that the Trinity was always taught throughout all antiquity. But when it comes to John 3:1-5; if water baptismal regeneration is true or not. Or John 6:53-56; if the Eucharist mass is biblical or not. They don't want to go to the church fathers, & just rather read their own interpretation. They don't see the hypocrisy, so they're not being consistent in their arguments. It's like when a Muslim says show me where Jesus says I am God, or worship me. The prot will point out the exact word fallacy to the Muslim. But then when a Protestant debates a Catholic, or Orthodox, they will say show me one verse where the apostles say we pray to Mary. I mean it's unbelievable how they don't see their own fallacies they commit. Bc they're not being consistent in all their arguments. And it all comes down to being biased, & standing strong with keeping your prot presuppositions. Its blinding them when reading scripture through calvinist lens, or through Baptist lens. If u keep those glasses on reading the Bible you're always going to see that one interpretation only, of whatever Protestant denomination you're in. Prots don't want to step back to tell themselves, okay I used the church fathers when it comes to the Trinity, so why don't I see what the church fathers taught on these other scriptures too. Considering the fact these are very scary verses in scripture. It literally says u will not enter the kingdom if you're not born again, & u have no life in u if u do not eat or drink my flesh & blood. Yes We all have our presuppositions prots. But some of us want to keep studying church history to know the fullness of the truth. This is why we are grateful to have someone like @Ananda Apologetics at Speakers Corner defending the fullness of the truth. Lord bless u brother 📿🌹🙏🏼💪🏼💯☦
God can instruct people to do differently. Just because he instructed Moses to carve two cherubims does not mean that we should do it to, as making images of something heavenly is prohibited. We can however depict prophets, but we should not worship any images of course. We are instructed to follow the commandments given to us by God, not the ones given specifically to Moses.
Solomon did the same. "the form of anything above" is a reference to creatures that fly not heavenly beings. Solomon did the same and God did not break his own commandment. We can make images of cherubims as found in cathedrals and church buildings. You are right to say that it should not be worshipped(Latria), that is for God alone.
In orthodoxy we have 2 types of veneration 1. Is τιμητική (respectful) and 2. Λατρεικη (worshipping) that belongs to God alone. When we venerate the saints we show respect to them because they were vessels of the Holy Spirit. We can also have icons of Christ because he appeared in human flesh therefore we represent that. St John Damascene has great literature on this topic.
@@tjt5973 he was a buddhist then muslim and then after becoming a christian he claimed he was catholic by proving the filioque and the catholic church to be the true church.
@@awake3083well that is wHat tends to happen when you deepen your knowledge of the Holy Fathers and Church history. I went from being non denom to Presbyterian to now being on my way to Eastern Orthodoxy in the space of 4 years
@@jhausa8274 I really doubt that he did that so quickly. It just seems like he doesn’t have a strong foundation and is jumping to different religions. He needs to worry about reading and applying the Bible in his life first before trying to do apologetics & theology.
God Bless from New Zealand brother, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. I have a similar testimony to yours where I was searching through different religions etc. even becoming muslim then eventually turning from Islam to seeking God without religion to God giving me a personal revelation of Jesus Christ through his providence. I'm wondering if you have a discord and do you do teach at all apologetics against Islam etc. as I would love to learn from you to defend the faith of our God and Lord Jesus Christ?
You should not make for yourself IDOL, פֶּסֶל (pesel) in the Hebrew text, ειδωλον in the LXX... So it describes forms of idols expanding on the prohibition of making them. That's the reason is says in verse 5 nor serve them(שָׁחָה šāḥâ / λατρεύσῃς)... The whole prohibition is for making idols, person, thing or animal that is not a god to worship it. It doesn't talk about veneration of icons.
Who the son sets free shall be free indeed don’t live with the sin conscience mind my brother in Christ ! Christ will free you from Satan with maturity in Christ ♥️👑
Icon veneration as it's practiced in Orthodox Churches isn't expressly prohibited in Holy Writ nor is it expressly provided in Holy Writ; especially in the New Testament. So, one must lean on and embrace Church Tradition (inclusive of Patistric writings, Church Councils, liturgy, etc.) in order to have a good/clear conscience about such practices. The same Church Tradition that produced the canon of Holy Writ, the attribution of Gospel account authors, etc., which Protestants also accept.
Hello brother, i understood your point but i have a question. The texts you showed are all in the old testament, and in the new testament it says this: “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:21, 23-24 Now we are in a new covenant and i dont think were supposed to worship God like the israelites did back then, they worshipped at the temple and through the ark but now we have the Holy Spirit and we worship God through him. Im open to people changing my mind on this. God bless you :D
He[anandaapologetics]did not say otherwise. Christians worship in spirit and truth. Icon veneration does not take away. The verse is talking about location not images
One explanation (from a Protestant view) that kind of makes sense to me is that God made a SPECIFIC command to make cherubims for the ark. Else, follow Exodus 20:4 So, God commanding the Moses/Israelites to make cherubim doesn't mean we can now make any carved image. Any counter-argument to that?
@@Anandaapologetics how? I don't see a contradiction. Another example: Jesus said to spread the gospel, baptizing all in the name. However, Jesus did not baptize the thief on the cross. Are you suggesting Jesus contradicted himself in that situation?
@@Srhyle no because one is regarding normative means of salvation “baptism” and a non normative means of salvation and the other Is saying premise 1 you cannot make images those are idols premise 2 make an image and you can prostrate to it it doesn’t make sense the command refers to seeing it as God not veneration of holy things
@@Anandaapologetics okay so you're saying that it's okay to make an icon/statue, bow down to it, hug and kiss it, offer something to it, pray in front facing it, parade it through town/city, etc. AS LONG AS we do not consider it as God? Sounds about right?
About 3 months ago I was really intrigued with the orthodox faith. I have no Orthodox Churches nearby. I have some questions about the faith. One as "praying to the saints" Or "asking for intercession".
The apostles are alive in Christ, I am pretty sure. As they are spirits, but so are the cherubims. The 24 elders(who are humans) seem to intercede for the saints and so do the angels. I used to and when in my days of doubt question it but I entrust myself into the Church fathers and obey according to the book of Hebrews.
Icons are not idols. The Temple wasn't the only Holy place that had images. The Synagogues did as well. Did the New Testament abolish the economy of sacred images that the Church inherits from the Synagogue and Temple? If so, they need to give an account as to why the Early Church had iconography and worshipped liturgically.
You can also mention that Jews visit the tomb of David and pray in front of it. Today,Jews, who are very monotheists pray in front of the Lament Wall, leave their prayers and pleads to God written in paper between the gaps of the Wall and they are not idolatras.

Just a question, bob said he believes in evolution but then says the sun was made in one day according to nuclear fusion which is right but the evolution was true?
Not convincing - you can turn it one or the other way around. Did not listen unto the end. This subject is not main Subject - I guess as long as there is a vital faith in your church - the idol worship will not be central - when saving faith deminishes - the idol worship will increase. I love CHrist and don`t need other and understand Exodus 25 the other way - when God orders to create something it is an exception only alowed in that case - as the special ANOINTING OIL ETC. I watch Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel and he is straight in his messages. I would say the pictures in his background are no idols they are just remebering of good fellows like him that died before here. I´m glad for you found your faith in Jesus Christ and I believe his Holy Spirit is able to lead us in all the truth - and if he doesn´t like this practise of icon veneration he will tell you, if he is ok with that who am I to judge. I value you as a debator and apologist and i´m thankfull yor´re courageus young man, Be blessed further mmmmore in every way.

@@mattoucas869 Doesn't mean he is going to break it. Christ is God in the flesh but said that he came not to abolish the law. God will not contradict the law that he established. That makes him a hypocrite to do so. Why would he give us a command that breaks his laws? That does not make sense. That would mean God commanded me to become a transgressor of the law he established. It's like what Paul says about telling someone not to do this but at the same time me you practice it. Or when Christ called out the pharisees and said that they would impose burdens on others but they themselves would not move a finger(not citing). If God does not want us to be hypocrites, why would he himself be one?
@@mattoucas869 It is for us. And if we break that law we become a transgressor. Why would God command someone to break the very law he established? It was not broken because that is not what the law states regarding carved images. God does not contradict himself. To say he does and did because it was "divine permission" seems like a desperate attempt to disagree with carved images. The Commandment is about creatures in the sky, land, and sea and making images of them to worship. The same thing that Paul talks about in Romans, when he says something about giving glory to the creature rathen than the creator. The bronze serpent was an image, but was then destroyed because incense was being burned to it, 2 Kings 18:4. Carved images is condemned when the object is being worshipped

Hi I watched your video when you were trying to have a conversation and I like what you are doing but I received a message through the Ruach (or Holy Spirit to you) to contact you. Here is the comment I left on the other channel: You handled the aggression and criticism well but where you fell down was when you referred to The Father as Lord and The Son as Jesus. These are not their real names. There is only ONE name under heaven wherein all men can be saved and it is not Jesus brother - not a false Latin name which actually translates to he that is swine (nor is it Yeshua). if you would like to have an open dialogue I would be happy to discuss these things with you and show you evidence of what I am talking about. I live in London and would be happy to do this. And I cannot stress enough, I do not want anything from you, simply to open your eyes up to revelation. Please don't take this the wrong way, you are doing a good thing: spreading The Word but if you are going to do that, let's make sure you are speaking The Truth and not some something which has mislead people for over a thousand years.
How do you know that you received a message from the actual Holy Spirit? It could be a demonic illusion for all I know, you shouldn't take this revelations as divinely inspired, because you don't know that they are divinely inspired.
That is their real name, It's called a translation or transliteration. The apostles and others spoke in tongues and were pretty sure said God and Jesus in other languages. That's what tongues is, stop trying to sound wise in your own eyes
