Did the makeup seduce the married man or did the woman. If your daughter wore really nice makeup and a short dress but her intent was not to seduce anyone, then she gets raped, who was sinning. The man but it is the same makeup.

I don't think it's like a trick you just attain. Sure you can pray for it if you want, but I think it comes through fully having your heart in God. And the sign that you're there is that you won't see your own contrition but just feel unbelievably sorry in all its fullness. Now I feel like a total hypocrite since I'm not there myself but I think I still spoke something that may hold truth.

I've read that it's a case of being less culpable for the sin if the sexual immorality is part of a compulsion. Like, you're less culpable if you have an addiction to masturbation.

I think people have the wrong idea about what is evil in this case. I always think of the evil not as giving in to desire but rather self-destructing. Think of it this way. Why go to a strip club and then walk away feeling frustrated and demoralized? There is no completion there, and you've contributed to the emotional destruction of a woman who has no self-respect. What about lusting after a woman? Well I think there too it's the same idea. If you have no intention of pursuing a girl then look away and save yourself the pain of longing for what you can never have. If you really need to use the restroom but can't, would you intentionally turn on the faucet and listen to dripping water to torture yourself? If you really wanted to sleep but had work to do, would you stare longingly at a comfortable bed knowing you couldn't sleep? That's the idea. So if you're having sexual urges then go work to find yourself a wife instead of chasing pipe dreams.

@@marksmith4892 Jesus said if you lust after a woman it is a sin. You don't have to do anything else. Masturbation is the same. You are lusting in your mind, a sin.

Some action are intrically evil in that matter : Fornication/ Masturbation. In any of those case it would be a sacrilege to take the Eucharist or to do such sacrament as mariage, confirmation, ... You should go to confession ASAP in that case. It is always a grave sin but not necessarely a mortal one (that cut you from god) as a mortal sin have to be 1/ a grave sin 2/ conscious of its gravity 3/ with complete free will . Adiction or such thing can thus reduce your culpability and maje it not mortal but it will always be grave! And any grave sin (as you never know if its mortal or not and as it is grave) have to be confessed before doing such thing as taking the Eucharist. For thoughts, basically any impure thinking that you do not refrain but voluntarily entertain OR from which you cultivate a intention of doing it is a sin. If you have an impure thought but you do not entertain it and refrain it, it is not a sin but only a vice. As Jesus Said "the one that "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.". So basically if you voluntaraly and freely entertain such a sin interiorely, it is even possibly a mortal sin. However if such a thinking come but you refrain it and you do not entertain it, do not worry.

What you are describing is actually the definition for a mortal sin. Something can be a sin in a lesser sense without being serious or having full or free intention.

I would still give the benefit of the doubt as to why they're recording. Are they using it to earn praise? As part of evangelization or spreading awareness? Or maybe just as a memorabilia to look back to?

Try meditating on the Divine Mercy, and ask Our Lord to heal your wounds, because they are spiritual wounds, in time you can develop a more mature understanding of morality. I didn't "correct" as much as I "added" to what he was saying. Towards the end he asked if I wanted to say something so I tried to build on what he was saying, saying that actions can be good or bad but that we must *also* consider these other things. It was a weird place to be in.

nasugbubatangas Polygamy, and everything else the RCC teaches against, is always inherently sinful regardless who does it. However, God will judge us according to the situation. For example: If polygamy was done by a Muslim who was taught that polygamy is not evil, and he does this according to Islamic laws, e.g. he is fair to all his wives, then he has not deliberately sinned because he didn't know, so God will take that into account, BUT he will likely need to suffer some time in purgatory, not necessarily as a punishment but as a way to purge him of his sinful Islamic desires, in this case the desire to have more than one wife. Take note that time in purgatory is not always only a punishment but more a way to purify us of our imperfections. If this seems unfair to you, think of it this way: Sin, according to the RCC, causes wounds in the soul. When a Muslim man practices polygamy, he is wounding his soul. Granted he doesn't know this, but he is still wounding himself. It's like when you eat something poisonous but you didn't know. You can't be accused of committing suicide because you didn't know, but you still need to deal with the poison, right? To save this Muslim man, God either gives him the grace to realize that monogamy is good and polygamy is bad (or better, the grace to convert to Catholicism) regardless what his religion teaches, or God saves him after death by healing his soul's wounds in purgatory. This is the reason why the RCC doesn't "give in" to the world's standards, or to be ok with other people doing stuff as long as they don't force us to do the same. The RCC knows that these people are constantly wounding their souls even if they don't know they are doing it. Obviously, the RCC tolerates these sinful practices because we respect personal freedom, but we can't ever say these acts are ok. We must always say that they are not ok, but most people interpret this as "judgment" in the negative sense. What the RCC is doing is like what a doctor does when he tells his patient that his weight is unhealthy. That's not a judgment but simply the truth, yet people's feelings are hurt so they don't want the doctor to say that. Unfortunately the alternative to not getting your feelings hurt is to remain fat and unhealthy. Hope this helps! 🙂

A sponsor is not canonically required for baptism. The only things that affects the validity of the sacrament are the water and the words of the minister. Godparents are strongly recommended, as far as is possible, but they cannot affect the validity of the sacrament. (Canons 872-874 in Canon Law)

Don't be scared of anything this world can throw at you. Easy to say, I know. But the point is we are to live for the next world to degree we can, and do what we can to make that next world a possibility for others. If your fears are about corruption in the Church, Jesus dealt with religious corruption, too, and advised people to remain obedient to what the corrupt leaders say; just don't do what they do.

No one is good enough for Heaven thats why Jesus came to take away our sins. Romans 6:23 ESV For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 11:6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. You cant earn heaven through good deeds.
