Ngl, Carl looks like Connors ex step father, who he still hangs out with due for trading beer for fixing his Ipad 🤔. Fully assumed it would be a key multitool you used ngl
I’m noticing a critical error with deciding who went first. While Carl may have more bald spots, it’s important to note, Conner looks like he just got a haircut and thusly the side cut counts as less hair meaning Carl should have went first. Wish the judges would have stepped in
The guy who made this game seems like a legit good guy. I can easily forgive this being $60. It goes to a small business, and it helps whatever company that actually made the physical cards.
Crazy but I like it....only a matter of time before I myself become a card. I'm thinking either suicide or unbridled rage....maybe one called euthanize the workplace.
I actually thought this was one of those 90's games that loved parodying Magic back in the day. I think it's cool in a sea of games built on fantasy we have a more light hearted game like this. We need more games not trying to be a person's main game, but rather a fun side game. Weiss Schwarz is kinda like that... or it would be if it weren't so expensive.
4:41 “A friend from college stalked me into his front door, He said ‘Hey! Long time no see! Wanna go inside to play Divorce Dads?’, So I entered his house and was greeted by his wife and their newborn baby, So I said ‘Why did you lie to me? You’re not divorced!’, I took the baby, And threw it on the GROOOOOOUND”
While I'm not the biggest fan of AI art, I can understand if you're on a tight budget. BUT if this man gets the cash, I hope he hires artists for the next gen of cards. The amount of ridiculousness and style he could have for the cards would be hilarious.
The animation behind it is amazing, they're doing a great job. Hopefully the next set or expansion for divorced Dads eliminates the AI made images. It would be nice if they pulled from the actual animation, but royalty's I guess?
Such a disappointment. He really should have just kept the original divorced dads cards with the photos on it and no rules /stats on the cards. They're way funnier. Would have been such a better product and I would have considered buying a booster. I was super disappointed when I saw he completely changed the style of them and stripped it of any character and humor. And now knowing its all AI is such a bummer man. All his videos are hilarious though.
Well no... If you wanna seriously sell a card-game, without rules and stuffs it just becomes a gimmik item rather than something people actually play.... Logical sense and stuff ya know.. :-P
@@TheTestTable1 for more info the og Game is cheap but the English versión is rare to find since it didnt sell well. The English version it's closer to the first years of the Game with some tweaks.
You have to wipe all cards from field before you can attack directly, also terrain cards only effect the player who played them’s field, not your opponent.
I think the AI artwork was because the maker doesn't have the money to pay an artist(s) and tbh he's not that big on YT...yet. Nah he's really funny though and the gimmick of this game is great. Also maybe the cost of the decks go to help make the next expansion?
@@TheTestTable1 so that makes it okay? I enjoyed the content but this guy is right. Graeme is one of the funniest guys on this crap platform. You don't have to watch his content to give him credit. Someone's never done a book report in highschool lol.
I hope people pick this up and it gets more support. Maybe more rules, change the way decks are made. For example making it a 4 card dup limit and 2 types maybe or 3 card dup limit and no type limit. I reckon if they go full hog with it it'll get some more traction.
Agreed and he already had funny real life pics for the skits before hand. Whole thing seems like a cash grab. Whatever I hope the people that bought it like it
I don't think so. As someone that creates stuff....it sucks to have to start at such large numbers to try and make a better product for next time. People seem to only add value when they've heard the name before. None of you played the game
@@archiehughes6203 You're "someone that creates stuff" and you think 30$ is a good price for a STARTER DECK that entirely uses AI art... Brand recognition is not the issue.
I thought this art looked suspiciously shit so I went to the website and learned they were AI assisted... and the starter decks are 30 bucks... and it's created by an influencer... beginning to think this is just a scam lmao
Yeah, so the whole gimmick of the game is that the guy who made it started it out as a joke in YT shorts where he would just open up "Divorced Dads booster packs" and read off the cards. Then enough people got interested, and he made it into a real game. As far as the AI use goes, I don't particularly care so long as it wasn't based off a single artists particular style. But yeah, I think it's a grift tbh lol
Was really intrigued, but the quality of the video is very hard to look at sometimes, especially with all the quick zoom ins. Watching at 1080p60fps btw
@@TheTestTable1 i’d say both. I can see the vision with the quick cuts, but it’s kind of hard to look at when your cams get enlarged and seemingly stretches the video
Yeah unfortunately we can't really do anything about the face cams currently. We're using one cam that I crop to get the effect of two. We're looking to upgrade soon though!
If the guy is successful in continuing to grow fame and make cards then they will eventually end up in magic the gathering in the future when they need a new groove 😂
Dragon Shield sleeves kinda suck. Just bought a 100 sleeve pack and it only had 99 sleeves in it so i couldnt sleeve my commander and a LOT of the sleeves had flashing on the sides so I could feel what cards were which.
I'm sorry to hear that. Try reaching out to them on social media, they're normally very good about responding to complaints. I hope you can get the issue resolved.
That is a bit of a shame tbh, also I've been trying to find someone to redo our channel art. But all the artists I know have been busy with commissions
@@TheTestTable1 there's a channel called dimension battles who you maybe could try to contact he has super unique artwork and maybe would send you two decks of the card game he created
This looks like it would be great for people not quite into card games yet since it's really straightforward but drawing at the end of the turn is so unintuitive and that price tag is ridiculous
Yeah, a 30 dollar starter deck is wild. There's a lot of other, simpler tcgs with lower price points that I'd recommend over Divorced Dads for someone getting into TCGs
Another week another episode, and this game seems very.... boring. Reminds me of very early Yugioh, with a lot of cards that are like "oh well Thunder/Aqua/Fish/Sea Serpents get 200 more attack while this is in play. I would guess that's just where they're starter decks, but these starter decks don't really give too good of a first impression, especially when factoring in the AI art for the overpriced product. These feel more like a novelty than a genuine attempt at trying to make a card game, but I don't really know what I expect from something that started as skits.
