@@TheSnarkMusic yeah I assume it does because that's kind of a core functionality of head units but I can't get confirmation of it, would suck if it stayed at full brightness at night

Me too. I believe it's because the Subaru camera is low resolution and it looks terrible on a big display.

Make sure if your lights are on during the daytime that you increase your car's dashboard brightness to full otherwise the camera is going to be in lower brightness mode.

You should be able to replace the Subaru Camera with a better one using the existing wiring.

Yeah, it's been super disappointing. I think I got unlucky with my unit. I'm debating replacing the whole thing. Thanks for checking out the video 🙌

If you close off the mic and reset hole the dust won't creep in the screen

Thanks for checking out the videos 🙌. You may be able to run some black RTV gasket maker around where the glass meets up with the rest of the unit's bezel. I haven't heard of others having the dust issue that I had. I'm thinking that I got unlucky on my particular product.

@@evlx14 FYI, I bought mine from JDMuscle and they took care of all the options. I got a plug and play system, with all the necessary add-ons and harnesses. Also having issues with the Android Auto Wireless. Hopefully I can get on top of that!

Dust on mine is a major disappointment. Considering trying my luck again with another one. Other features are pretty good overall.

The Harman Kardon speakers are pretty great in my opinion to begin with. This unit may have higher wattage capability but I didn't notice a significant difference. Still very good. Thanks for checking out the video 🙌

@@evlx14 Thank you! I have the harmon kardon as well and noticed at higher volumes the bass was lacking, but it could just be my ears! Did soundskin deadening and that made a big difference! Just ordered one of these tho! THanks for the video!

@@evlx14 Great video, thanks. I have a customer considering this unit and your video helped me get more familiar with it. And, higher wattage from the head unit doesn't matter with the h/k system anyway. Think of this (or any aftermarket) radio's speaker wire outputs as essentially just high-voltage RCA outputs (10+ volts) feeding the amplifier a clean music signal. The h/k amp will ultimately still put out the same power, but just may do so sooner (at a lower numerical volume) because this radio is feeding it a higher-voltage, clean input signal (not sure if the OEM head does any sort of "rolloff" or not, or if that processing is done in the h/k amp). The EQ and any DSP this radio has allows for better sound shaping than OEM, so it may sound better and somewhat "louder" in the end because of that. Cheers!

Yes. You need to buy the iDoing decoder that goes with this head unit. I got both on AliExpress.
